One lesson to take from Mr Swiftie and his helper. Don't try to back into a super tight spot with your tandems all the way forward unless you can pull up and back in on a straight shot
Everytime I see you getting a truck wash, I always remember forgetting to close my side vents on the sleeper all of the way. Didn’t know it until I got ready to lay down that night and my bed was soaked !
I'm a driver and right now I'm in the state of Washington. Just had a driver use heel to toe and sidewalk chalk to back in beside me. What in the world. Just glad he didn't hit my peterbuilt
Gone are the days of the Mom and Pop roadside diners. Good home cooked type meals where other truckers can converse about the smokie bears, scales, and endless construction. Probably the best thing of OTR trucking. Ya. I did it in the late 70s until the freight dried up and the owner of the tractor recovered from his motorcycle accident.
You aint lying, I traveled in the Oil Field work and the best food to be found WAS the Truck stops. Don't ask me how but they even made EGGS taste good. Ohhh the great smell of Biscuits and sausage gravy, I could go on. But ya, those were the days, RIP
You said we can’t judge a book by its cover. We already read the book and knew how that story was going to end. Was that driver out of school (high school) early that day? I am not saying that was an easy situation to be in, but you have to know your own personal limits and who to trust, obviously he could not trust his helper. Stay safe, stay warm!
I love your truck too. But what’s not to love it’s a large car with a 16 liter cat. I love listening to first class just cruising on the highway. The turbo whistle is great.
Hi Kurt! New comer here to your channel. I like what I saw and I'm hook. I'm your new subscriber buddy. I was looking for a new trucking channel to watch and stumble on yours. I got tired of watching the other trucker because of his arrogance mindset. He went by FSC Trucking. You my friend have the right mindset for being a trucker. You take it in a better approach and more comfortable to watch. I'm looking forward to your highway adventures. Take care Kurt.
It's crazy frustrating to have nice equipment only to have some knucklehead tear it up for you. The skill level in this industry has gone to hell. And people don't seem to care. They just make excuses for it.
Kurt, the salt on your truck, is most likely from the muddy lot. They put calcium chloride (salt) on the gravel/mud, to consolidate the mess. Oh joy. Best wishes from the North.
Hey Troy, put a rubber spider in your dad's Christmas stocking for me. Merry Christmas😁 Young drivers have to learn and mistakes can be made. Thanks for another great ride. God bless.
The problem is the new drivers are learning at other people's expense. A little bump to the side rail of a reefer trailer cost $5000 plus to repair. And kills the value of the trailer. Ask me how I know. There is no excuse for that to happen in that situation.
I'm visiting my daughter and husband in Petersburg NE on Sunday. This time I'm taking a coconut cream pie from Perkin's in Norfolk. That and a pumpkin pie. Perkin's is a tiny bit expensive, can't complain about the pies_ my daughter is worth the cost. Won't complain about your video's either. Usually, interesting, sometimes a bit mushy (who doesn't love their dogs and cats?). I like it all. Thank you for the ride. Have a nice holiday with your family.
Hey squirrel, It dawned on me, before I retired, that I'm out here 7 days a week. Rain started not to matter. It's par for the course. So, I would wash it when it got grimy. Not terrible but dirty. Once I pulled into a streakin' beacon at whites in Raphine, Va. And it was raining. The guy asked me why am I getting my truck washed in the rain. I said I'm out here 7 days a week. I just washed the dirt and road salt off. I don't need to wash water off.
driving in a down pour, I hear on my c.b.? southbound. How far does this rain go? no one answered the, so I replied, "Till it hits the ground" 😮😊 that woke up the the c.b. for 10 mins of laughter.
I live in Oklahoma, EZ-GO was our gas stations. Used to drop fuel. Then Loves Corp bought them, but only kept the interstate stores. Now all of our in town stores were bought by Casey!
Not much changes over the years - Sure Wish I'd Finished Training - glad to see they haven't changed in 20 plus years. When I'd deliver to Chrysler in Michigan, you dropped your trailer and the spotter put it into the parking spot or the door. I didn't mind that at all!
A good driving day for me is no accidents . On i81 in pa every single time it rains people won't slow down and of course have an accident. It's getting worse yearly. I would love driving where you are. Much more wide open. Scritch Opie for me
Well maybe he learned the lesson you can't always trust a spotter. My dad has been an intensive care unit since last Wednesday, he got out of the ICU unit Monday morning, Prayers 🙏 Have Worked 💪.. Cleveland Tenn Waivin a Hand 👋
They have salt solution trucks spraying the roads when there's the slightest hint of freezing precipitation IN THE FORECAST, not even present yet. I don't know how many years ago this started here in Wisconsin, but it's relatively recent. Vehicles get exposed to 10x as much salt as they used to be, seems to me.
Yeah man, those surprise spider visits can really get the heart-rate up! Yeah, I hear ya on the bad food items. Everything ratchets-DOWN, almost never UP. It all goes to the lowest common denominator, which is sad.
I remember back in the day when truck stops had a diner in them with good food I use to go to the Plymouth Indiana truck stop back in the eary 90's for the biscuits & gravy oh man it was so good, I heard they since replaced it with a Subway
I think the spotters tend to have the advantage backing trailers and don't understand its way easier then with a sleeper truck. I get it, its all about making more space for more trailers. But also, it probably creates more accidents and damage which is everyone's problem. Not to mention the difficulty truing to raise or lower landing gear. I worked many years hauling containers and railyards are even worse sometimes I had to move other trailers just to get the one I needed.
Loved the COE. Too bad it was so new. My first truck was a 1976 White Freightliner COE, 13 speed, 350 Cummins. Loved it expect for getting dressed on the doghouse.
Realistically those trailers should have a minimum of 3 feet clearance between. Same thing happens at the grocery store. Domino effect, takes one bad driver parking out of place to ruin the whole program.
I lived in Denver 20 years ago, when I see those Navajo Trucking trailers, it always makes me think of Denver. I believe Navajo is based on the east side of Denver off I-70.
I enjoy watching you but it’s hard for me because my dad loved watching you and he is now passed. He was watching you the day he passed
So sorry to hear this.
Thank you sir, safe travels!
A sad, sweet comment. I’m sorry for your loss.
So sorry. 😪
Sorry for your loss
Hey now, Casey’s pizza is great! And their cream filled donuts are superb.
One lesson to take from Mr Swiftie and his helper. Don't try to back into a super tight spot with your tandems all the way forward unless you can pull up and back in on a straight shot
When I was young and not so tall, I wanted to drive for Willis Shaw. ... Now I'm older and just a runt, that's why I drive for J.B. Hunt.
You tried giving swift a chance. 😆 🤷♂️
You're a good man

long gone are the days when you could set down and eat a good meal at a mom and pop truck stop
Kurt, thank you for sharing the awesome veterans memorial and the sculpture at Dodge City.
That's why I refuse drop trailer loads. There's a swift prowling around always. 🤣

Big fellah thanks for sharing your exploits with us and the effort that must require.Sometimes I just gotta watch one.
Hey Kurt, The guy spotting for Swiftie was probably his trainer who started driving a month ago himself. No waiting, what could be better?
Watched the Percy Jackson series today, kept thinking i knew that kid from somewhere. Then realized, he looks like your son!!!! ❤❤
Congrats on the 50,000!!!
Opies says ok dad enough get up my space
I was thinking you were going to help him, but than again most times helping other's nowadays costs a lot.
I love your truck too. But what’s not to love it’s a large car with a 16 liter cat. I love listening to first class just cruising on the highway. The turbo whistle is great.
Too close,dad.this is my space.
Hello Opie & Mr Kurt!!!!! Hopefully Ur staying BUSY & PRODUCTIVE 2 finish out 2023!!!!🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🇺🇸💰💰💰💰💰💰💰👍🏾🙌🏾🤞🏾✌🏾
One of my favorite channels! I enjoy every video
Some People put the cable thru the other side of Door Latch then back to the Right side Door. Take up that cable.

The guy helping him backed up is the idiot. It wouldn’t have made a difference if it was there in the first place. Be safe out there, Kurt.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Trucks, tractors and trains all in one shot. Very unusual for that to happen. Great video!
Thanks for filming this. I have to see that same area every week. Thanks for filming the veterans memorial too!!!
Alright frist class!!! Hello from the bossleman!!! Grand island Nebraska!!! Yeah!!!!
The warden is gonna get jealous 😮
Funny you should say that ... subway was my dinner while in Texas lol
Dodge City! My Mom and her family have some very deep roots there. My Grandpa was the Sheriff there many years ago.
You and Opie take good care of yourselves won't you Kurt and keep safe out there buddy
You as well Wayne
Thank you once again Kurt

It's SWIFT!!!. . . NUFF SAID!!!😄
Enjoyed the video once again keep up the awesome work. 👌
SWIFT is an acronym for Sure Wish I'd Finished Training for a reason! :P

Put some mufflers on your exhaust and it will quieten your exhaust and your turbo. Very little effect on performance.
Great video big man 👍
Good to see you back I thought you doing to throw in the towel great stuff as usual
Kurt thanks for the video and stay safe out there on the highway
On the backing up, sometimes the help just isn't up to the task. 😕
Great video and happy holidays to you and your family stay safe God bless from GA
Happy holidays!
Love seeing you in Kinsley. My mom’s family is from there.
Merry Christmas to all of you
nice easy going video Kurt.take it easy and selp well with Ope on guard.👍👍

I was parked in the old Ft Myers truck stop in Ft Wayne Ind in the lat 70’s BOBTAIL and got hit by a BOBTAIL ! ! ! Boy was that driver embarrassed.
Well maybe he learned the lesson you can't always trust a spotter. My dad has been an intensive care unit since last Wednesday, he got out of the ICU unit Monday morning, Prayers 🙏 Have Worked 💪.. Cleveland Tenn Waivin a Hand 👋
You got that right hero Casey's suck
That M-60 Tank brings back some memories. U.S. Army 1968 to 1971.

Hey Buddy, Long time to see your show and have a wonderful day in Christmas holidays! 🎄🤟
Thanks! You too!
I have been at it longtime read the book over and over. And alot has changed .not as much fun anymore 😅
I remember back in the day when truck stops had a diner in them with good food I use to go to the Plymouth Indiana truck stop back in the eary 90's for the biscuits & gravy oh man it was so good, I heard they since replaced it with a Subway
We all love your truck
Casey's is trying to be like the Dollar General stores. One or two on every corner.
4 ft spider. 😂😂😂😂😂
Nice video, Schmidt
You made me so sad when you said 4 you Kids truck stop has been bought by Casey's. I absolutely adore the guy who owns it now.
Opie is such a kick. Thanks for going thru Lincoln..my hometown. Got your shopping done? Blessings.
Not yet!
Good 'ol Swifty Swift!
Yeah, you had to flash that coconut cream pie in front of me. Now I want one!!! Like you said, it is hard to find a good one.

ohhh Swifty Swift…Best in CRASH!
I remember one trucker referring to that company as the "not so swift" trucking company. 😅
Not far off 50k subscribers Kurt. Come on guys let’s get Kurt to 50k 👍🇬🇧
So close!
been to that place many times
Happy holidays to you and your family.
Loved the COE. Too bad it was so new. My first truck was a 1976 White Freightliner COE, 13 speed, 350 Cummins. Loved it expect for getting dressed on the doghouse.
I didn't see Garfield when u went through there
Charge your travel agent for the trailer wash. Opie must love the chin scratches, that's why he was silent!
Also, maybe Casey's will hire cooks to make fresh food, just a thought.
My yellow lab was the same way, liked his space. He’d start panting anytime you tried to lay next to him. Lol
Kurt does the southbound scale in Belleville,Ks highway 81 open on the weekends.
It never used to be
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 Hope not going by them soon lol. 🤞🏼
Ya well chrome don’t get ya home.
Damnit!@ Glad he didn't hit one of ours, but still man it hurts us all!!!
He's just living up to the reputation. Why crash one trailer when you can crash two?
Watch out for Kurt Opie for he knows not what he does 😂❤
I taught my trainer 😂😂 No st
I'm from Iowa and I like Casey's pizza, especially the breakfast pizza. Keep up the videos, I'll go get a slice of pizza for the next one.
Is Opie going to share that bed with Troy next time you bring him along for the ride ?
Probably not
