It's probably the best thing they did for wizard. I hated how I could play an evil wizard- but was stuck with the derpy animal familiars. Why let warlocks have all the demonic pets?!
Fun fact I learned: If you scribe the scroll into a wizard's book, summon shovel, leave the conversation and then talk to her with another sorcerer/warlock/wizard you can get the ability on that character while the original wizard still has the spell scribed. With all that work done you can now have 2 Shovels running around at the same time
I tried this but it didn't seem to work for me. I had one wizard in my party learn the spell to their book > then summoned shovel > the conversation started automatically and at the first choice I chose *leave* > then I talked with Shovel on another wizard in my party > completed the conversation... but I don't see the option for them to summon a quasit. Did I do something wrong?
Seems there's some specific details that can make/break this working. - You have a wizard learn the spell into their book. This wizard will now have the spell to summon the quasit in their spellbook. - Then this wizard summons the quasit. - At the first conversation you choose "leave" to exit the conversation. - Then you have someone else in your party who has at least 1 level in wizard, warlock, or sorcerer (except storm sorcerer - see below) talk with the quasit - In the conversation you need to choose always 1 except for the single choice where it says something along the lines of: "No you will do no such things" where instead you choose 2, then back to 1 for the last comment. So it's something like 1,1,1,1,1,2,1 ! During the conversation make sure you don't change Shovel's name. It prevents all this from working. - Then you go to the mirror and choose these answers to get through safely: > Tell it your name > "Yes, an ally! I'm an ally of your master's." > "A foul lich. May he die a thousand more deaths." > "To clean a wound?" > Any response besides "I'd see the ones I love." - Then walk through the door with your party - Then you speak with Shovel again and it will say something like "Oh oh oh a spell shite!" and that person will gain "Find Familiar: Cheeky Quasit" on their hotbar under Common, not on their spell list. - That person who has the Quasit ability under Common can now respec to another class if they like, even a non-caster class, and they will still have this ability to summon the quasit. - As for a Storm Sorcerer, Shovel has a different reaction and dialogue for this subclass which can break the above method from working. Instead (I haven't tried this but SuperCobynite on reddit said this works): You have your wizard learn the spell from the scroll and summon Shovel. Then that same wizard makes the above choices, then you do the mirror part, once through the door have your storm sorcerer speak to Shovel, and hopefully this lets them learn the summon Quasit ritual under Common.
