    Re: Carson Hocevar - the field put him 3 wide - he didn't make any move to get there. The entire low lane went to the wall to block each other and Carson held his line. Was he supposed to just go backwards at that point? Hell no, he's racing for position. The car that moved underneath Carson made it 3 wide there. Blaney's spotter should have called it out.

It did look like Preece was going to either keep moving and get off the track, but didnt. • @ericmicke4130
    @ericmicke4130 Месяц назад +2

    There was no danger until the cars would be coming off turn 2. So throwing the yellow when they get to turn 1 or the short chute is when the yellow was necessary and not before then. The only reason you do it before that point is if you're purposely trying to force another restart and that shouldn't be the goal. I wish NASCAR played it this way more often. If a car hasn't made significant contact with anything and there's no danger, just go until there would be.
    The restart situation doesn't need a rule change. It was fine. Them not knowing who the control car was is on them. Don't need 2 more laps of caution. That's ridiculous.
    Both are right about the race itself. It's much better to be on the oval for Cup (Xfinity would be better on the road course). And I am fine with Indy being more about strategy than expecting the most competitive on track action. However this Gen7 car has made everything that makes Indy and Pocono suffer way worse than ever before.

    (Commenting at the 22:13 mark) before any changes to horsepower were made to attempt to replicate the Xfinity race… I’d love to see nascar try roof wickers like they used to run at the super speedways. Just something that widens the air wake to allow the draft to be more effective without adding too much more downforce.
    There’s a balance there somewhere. Adding drag strictly to make the draft more effective but not so much that they add a ton of downforce, so in my mind something like increasing the rear spoiler size wouldn’t be an option. But maybe if wickers on the fenders and/or the roof would help the potential for more green flag passes for the lead. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’d like to see it tested at least.

    The right call was made. Sorta. There where other cases for nascar calling cautions to soon and you didn't complain about those. Why?
    Nascar has way to many cautions these guys are in cages for crying out loud. Let them race. Safety third!
    Yes each situation is unique and should be judged accordingly. I feel they should have let them race but they didn't because nascar has turned into poocee spec car racing.

    Larson won. If course it is controversial. Just give the guy and his team, the flowers they deserve. Why does it seem like everyone at dirty mo hates the guy? Is it because he won more races than Jr, in a single year? Or he's already 3rd in Hendrick wins category? Or is it because he's just better than their guy? We will never know, because there is no such thing as honest media. Its all opinions and everyone has a bias.

NASCAR has focused on TV and things for young people. THey are doing a good job at making it a good show. Dull boring strategy races are not for these fans. Who is there target audience. I know it is not me which I understand. I am an old time who attended races and bought merch. Other series appeal to me more. And every series has boring races. I love how everyone is touting that Larson passed so many cars at the end, well duh! They were all saving fuel guys. When he got to Blaney, he couldn’t pass him, and wouldn’t have passed him if he hadn’t got the golden ticket to the inside of the front row. Blaney got screwed more than anyone else. Larson wasn’t especially fast all day so he didn’t “deserve it” any more than anyone else. Admittedly I am a Blaney fan, but Larson is my second favorite. I still think that ending sucked all the way around.

Blaney was definitely faster than Larson when running full out. I would have rather seen a shootout between those two with Blaney on the inside like he should have been. Larson got handed that race on a silver platter. Every car on the outside all day got the shaft on a restart, majority of the time they would fall to 3rd or worse.
