So after having my kef r700s for 11 years I thought they sounded great with a decent amp and chord wiring......well I just got the ISO acoustic gaia 2 feet and omg I am blown away I cannot believe the difference believe me they have transformed the sound to astonishing levels.......do yaself a favour and buy these
I have a pair of Focal Solo 6 be (s) as home audio system; in your opinion, do u think the Gaia IIIs would make a sound improvement (either drilled in or just sitting on top).
Hey terry - I just bought the Gaia 2 for my floor standing speakers bowers and Wilkins 804d3s. I’m finding that even though speakers are level, they wobble when I touch a little bit. Are they supposed to be rigid like they were with spikes or is this you found too?
That doesnt sound like you have them installed right mate - the speakers shouldn't wobble, it sounds like they are not quite level mate and maybe spend some more time on it - its a pig of a job but one worth doing :)
Hi it seems all the other isoacoustic Gaia videos the nut goes on top and tightens to the speaker maybe that’s why you found it difficult to tighten the other part I would assume that’s what the spanner is for 👍
yeah one nut tightens to the speaker and one to the GAIA but only after you adjust the height of it. I have installed more since actually and found them easier. I think I am just a bit of lemon with stuff like this :)
Pursuit Perfect System it’s crazy how such a thing can change the overall sound I would like to know what’s inside these isoacoustic Gaia is there any other products like these but with a sensible price you have tried
Great videos, I'm having issues as on a house move I've lost (don't ask how) all my M6 1.0 threads. Would you know how I can buy the M6 x 1 threads please.
I don't understand why the bolt that needs to be remove comes threaded on when shipped. Or is there a case where it doesn't need to be switched around with the other bolt?
I am sure I mentioned it in the videos - some speakers require different sized threads to what comes included - the KEF Reference require a different size. Check the conversation I had with moukie bengal in this same video chat. I think you need m8x1.0 you buy these from the same dealer as you bought the isoacoustics from.
I bought them from Nintronics. I tried the 3 diff. size threads from the box. The largest diameter is almost same size as the REF3 spikes but there is resistance when I try to screw them in.
speak to Nintronics tomorrow they will get a set for you from the UK distributor who sent the sets to me to review. Both companies are good as gold as I said I am 99% you need m8x1.0 size
Hi tel, I just got the Gaia 3 and the packaging was very disappointing as it comes with a wee box in the middle with all the bolts bungled in, I will be taking down to Spain for my speakers in a couple of weeks ,will let you know how I got on ,regards matt ,oh and a couple were marked on side
hi what didyou use for size thread for your reference 3 ( m6 or m8 ?? ) i have the reference the reference 5 and bought the gaia 1 but in the box of the gaia 1 there is no M6, there is only m8 and m12 in the box. i tried the m8 threads and they only turn like 4 threads and it stops , when i use my stock spikes i can turn 30 threads with no issues , thanks for your response in advance
moukie bengal Hi Moukie. I needed a different size IsoAcoustics or the UK distributor SCV sent me some extra threads in different sizes. I think I mention the size in the video I made for the installation guide. I will have to check
my reference 5 are m8 spike fine threads and the m8 gaia are big threads ( coarse threads) thats why i am unable to install them , i contacted isoacoustics about it waiting for an answer next week
Yeah need to buy 2 sets one for each speaker - or maybe 3 sets if you want to include the centre speaker or more. Hold off on the cost judgement until you hear the benefits they might bring - its likely much cheaper than buying the next range up in speaker
Well with much messing around getting them straight....... .I can't believe the difference in sound wow the trebles have been completely taken from the bass......much brighter trebles vocals much tighter bass...bass much more on time and less boomy I have to listen to all my music again worth every penny
I fitted them under my kef reference floorstanders speakers they weigh about 40kg each i think. i did it without moving them in order to do an a/b demo of them
Why do these manufacturers insist on gouging their customers. Metal is metal, it does not cost 10 times as much just because its made into an audio tweak!! I am sure these could sell for £10 to £15 each AND thy could make a decent margin.
the companies have to make money otherwise there would be no industry and no products and no incentive to make any. These will cost a few quid but they will stay in the system far longer than most other things likely your whole life
Given the logo needs to face forwards or backwards, do the Gaia’s make it difficult to level a speaker sitting on a slightly uneven floor? The installation process seems cumbersome and I haven’t seen mention of this in most of the unboxings and reviews posted online. Also, is the raised platform the entire system is sitting on made of wood or concrete? It would be good to know.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem Thanks for the reply. Appreciate you came back to this video just to make a response. Very nice of you! You know, a follow-up that might be good for traffic would be the Gaia's vs. Stillpoints SS vs. Townsend Podium. The way you sound test would make for an instructing showdown.
I recon everyone would be much better off when they sell the feet cheaper and then seperate bolts. My speakers won't fit with the defaults ones. So if i order i need a separate set, while paying for 12 bolts i will never use...... and seeing the price differences it's just not right AT ALL. I feel there is way too much margin on these products
So you'll end up with all 4 gaia units at slightly different heights just to get them to line up in the same direction? that's not great design in my opinion! for the price they charge I would expect a better system than this
Hi, the system works the same as any spike - you have to adjust the spike to account for uneven floor. If the floor is perfectly level then all 4 GAIA will be installed the same. You pay the money for how much better your speakers sound with the GAIA under them
@@PursuitPerfectSystem yes but spikes don't need to be oriented, that's the point I am making, the gaia will only be installed the same if the threads line up in the captive spike sockets already installed in the stand, and why would they be? they don't need to line up for spikes, when you have a system where the only way you can orient a gaia to face forward is to change the height, that's no a good system
they can face forwards or backwards - just not to either side. that is why there is a 2 nut system with installing the GAIA - you level them and tighten the nuts. Its a little tricky at first, but only at first. No more work really than levelling speakers on spikes or similar. I know lots of people that use them now with no complaints about installing them. You will only do it once as well
@@PursuitPerfectSystem hi thanks for the quick reply, i know of a few people that have tried these and heard no difference. Putting vids on RUclips doesn't do anything justice as you can only hear your own equipment. Im not sure why I bother !!!
@@1stswim if you watch the video using a decent audio solution you can hear if there is a difference in sound or not. I have made multiple videos for these in my own room and at shows.
