    I started with the Isoacoustics Gaia 2 for my speakers and was gobsmacked. So much so, I then bought Isoacoustics indigo for my amplifier and graphite for my streamer. The difference was massive. They are quite expensive but well worth the outlay and make a substantial upgrade.

    ok... where are the charts you mentioned in the video? The 10 pounds less from the max weight supported is contradictory from what the Isoacoustic calculator suggest. I do have an ISO-155 on my 8 inch speakers that weights 29 pounds each, and they sound great, but look weird since the look much smaller(wide) than the speaker. I was thinking getting the ISO-200 but that will put me way too far from the max supported weight. Would you mind finding the chart you mentioned? thank you!

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  3 месяца назад

      Sorry, this was done three years ago and the charts have disappeared from their site. You are at almost half their max on the tall setting. If you can respond with your speaker size, brand/model, we can ask their engineers. It is better to have more of the speaker supported if possible.

      @@AudioAdvice No problem, I was asking because based on max weight specs I ordered the ISO-155 for my big monitors. They sounded great, but looked weird(too small). Then found the calculator on the Isoacoustics site, and it suggested ISO-200 for my speakers. So I ordered the 200, installed and well the base lost some tightness. I even measure it with a vibration app, and the ISO-155 works better! So Your advice about 10%-25% less than max weight is spot on!! thank you!!

    How the heck aluminium can have better isolation properties than te plastic?😆It's one of the most firm metal so there is no way that aluminium have better isolation compare to plastic. Aperta might have better isolation but only from better inner and outer pads but it's nothing about plastic vs aluminium.

    Can I screw the Gaia pucks into a stand mount/bookshelf speaker stand (ATACAMA AUDIO NEXUS) or should I put the Mini Puck under the speaker and keep using the spikes that came with the Nexus speaker stand? (Note: foundation/floor is concrete, so no wood).

    there's something even better than the iso acoustic Gaia for speakers, it's called the Townsend podiums, they're three times as expensive but they do away better job, they isolate all the way down to three Hertz so it stops all the Earth vibration from shaking your speakers the iso acoustic only isolate down to 20 Hertz so they don't stop that problem, everyone that's tried them has said that the iso acoustic are very good but the Townsend podiums are on a whole different. level better.

    No one thought of this before? Townshend has a video from years ago showing ringing from vibration coming back up from the floor on a speaker with spikes. Townshend Pods and Podiums go back two decades. No one thought of this before? Right.

    I have spikes made for my speakers (floorstanders). Right now, I attach my speakers to a plinth, then the spikes screw into the plinth, which then nestle into the carpet, or hardwood if you don't care about eight deep holes in your hardwood. I do care, and my wife would lose her mind. I should mention I had my house built to spec, and the basement has a perfect, large room with 11 foot high ceilings which I drew into the plans pre-build. Should I unscrew the plinth the speaker is supported on if I buy a pair of Isoacoustic bearings? For anyone wondering what a plnth is, it's just a fancy word for platform in this case. Look up speaker plinths for pictures under images if interested. If I didn't have a small family, I would have built this area into a dedicated sound room designed by the people I buy my gear from. Not with a movie screen like some people have done beautifully making a small theater. The slope of a theater room makes brilliant sound for movies. Not so great for just music. I'm a music fanatic, not so much a movie buff. Oh yeah, I live in western Canada. Do you ship to Canada?

    I bought an iso155 for my presonus eris 3.5. the speakers are a bit smaller than the stand. Will it still work or do I need to get the iso133 instead

      To get maximum performance out of them, we'd recommend you get the ones that fit best for your speakers.

      You might could depending on the design. IsoAcoustics can supply threads to fit just about anything if they are not included. You just have to give them the spec. Thanks for watching

    I bought Herbie’s Audio Lab spike gliders instead of the Gaias. Cheaper and allows me to move them more freely. The Gaias don’t do that and are much bigger.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  2 года назад

      Thanks for sharing, the Gaia will make a much bigger difference, but yes, you need to know where they are going to go- however- you can put a small felt disc under the GAIA, it reduces its effectiveness a little bit, but then they do slide around, our founder has some set up that way with speakers he needs to slide often. It just an expensive stand. No use in buying these except for elevating your speakers. Good speakers do no resonate outside their case.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Год назад

      We challenge you to try them for yourself if you have decent speakers. IsoAcoustics can measure the improvements they make. They did all of their design at the NRC.

      @@AudioAdvice As a matter of fact I have IsoAcoustic stands the ISO-155 and they are great for elevating my KEF LS50 Meta's but it did not improve the sound. Making sure that the speakers are on ear level did help of course but that is besides the point.

    Sorbothane Hemispheres - much cheaper and much more efficient/effective. Spiking doesn't isolate or decouple, in fact, it couples...which is the exact opposite.

      I was getting this odd hum - more like a wrrrrrr - in my system. Weird thing was, I would only get it around once a week; and only in certain months of the year. Turned out to be my neighbor's lawn mower. Closed the window in the listening room and it went away.
