I think people like him , get extremely affected by young people YOUTH dying. Cause imagine the things that the children wanted to still achieve , marry , kids, college, careers he MUST get affected by such thing… seeing gunshot wounds are freaking horrific , body, face torn , into pieces it’s not easy
@@maryamarbab6192 I feel for the medical examiners that have to autopsy the tiny bodies of the children that have been tortured and murdered by their parents, or have been ravished and destroyed by pedophiles. I know I couldn't sleep at night. But thank God we have people strong enough to do these jobs in order to bring justice to the ones who have been so destroyed.
This can’t be easy for the medical examiner, to sit in front of these innocent kids parents and discuss all the injuries they received. My heart breaks for everyone involved….and there are SO many people that this senseless tragedy impacted.
And the detective who had to identify blood - the blood spatters on the wall around two named students and blood by one victim’s head. 😥 I thought that was the hardest part for him..
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a trial go this slow. It is mind-numbing. The families must be ready to pull their hair out waiting and waiting through each day of this painstaking testimony and endless delays. My prayers for all of the victims.
I doubt it’s an actual strategy, but the slow, plodding, tedious nature of it, where there are NO interesting or scintillating moments, hopefully has the effect of showing how boring and slow and painstaking it all is. In other words, no excitement here, for the narcissists; no reward for being the “best ever” shooter. It’s all so dull, a shooter’s trial. Deadly tedium. Good.
This is fairly common with most court cases. It’s not at all exciting or entertaining as it appears on TV show. It takes a long time with this many witnesses, experts, medical and safety personnel. It all takes time.
Then you haven't seen many trials. Most court cases and trials when it comes to a huge case like this drag on for a super long time. It's not meant to be for your entertainment. Plus, this particular video is only Day 5. You really thought they'd have it wrapped up in under one week?
This fact is too sad. My most sincere condolences as well as admiration and respect for the parents who attend court every day to witness how justice is done to their children. May the punishment received by Mr. Cruz be the most severe that US justice dictates.
Alas, given his age, I will wager he ends up being allowed to live (albeit incarceration) to the average life male life expectancy in this country (78 yrs).
@@ikeyschultz4969 I hope he gets life in prison. Getting the needle is like getting anesthesia for surgery. Too bad they don't still have the electric chair.
This was such a tragedy that could have been prevented may all 14 students and 3 teachers Rest In Peace and the jury give him the right sentencing that he rightfully deserves.
Please God give the parents and families of the 17 innocent victims the courage and the strength to see and hear the trial. Please God give the 17 survivors the courage and strength to relive the horror by testifying. Please allow these innocent 34 victims and survivors to find justice so that they may heal and find peace in their lives.
It blows my mind how someone like him can just sit in there like nothing has happened among the victims, I think it's clear what he should deserve and the justice the victims should see done
Which one is his father? It all hurts my heart!! The ME describing each bullet wound tore me up!! Just awful and this was all just so unnecessary!! I hope they give him the death penalty. I'm usually against that but he gave these 17 death and they didn't ask for any of it, so therefore, he should not get to live and be taken care of for the rest of his life!! Why should he live, when he took the lives of 17 innocent people and in the manner that he did??
He’s the one with the grey hair and resting frown face. Sorry not being mean but just a characteristic I noticed. He’s always shaking his head, as he should. His anguish is all over his face.. heartbreaking
I keep watching one Father who has lost about 25 lbs since this trial started. He keeps shaking his head no. I feel so sorry for him, opening up 4 yr old wounds. He looks so traumatized and I don't blame him one bit. Blessings to that Father Dear Lord. Every single student that survived this horror has gone on to college or technical/trade schools. It just shows what they were all capable of accomplishing had the others lived.
@@Psyminds ,my guess is she says he's traumatized again for being present at court. Essentially I think she means to say she understands why he still showed up for court, and thus does not blame him for putting himself back through all the pain, so to speak, as well as his lost weight and vibrancy to his person.
I've seen this man as well... everyday he is there it seems. I've been wondering if all the people on that side of the room are the parents of these precious kids....Any idea which one of these kids was his?? Imagine having to sit there and listen to the autopsy of ur own child...just heart wrenching. He's been alone all the times I've seen him.. praying he and all the rest of these parents have a great support system to help them get through this. I can't imagine the pain.😭... God bless them all...💜
Look at this guy.. sitting back, doodling, sipping coffee, hunched over looking bored out of his mind. I’m not sure I could be there as a parent to one of those victims. I can only hope he’s terrified deep down right now. Why it takes this long when the evidence couldn’t be more clear, I’ll never understand.
I've asked myself the same question many times, and the only thing I can think of is that killing someone, regardless of the reason, shouldn't be done ever.
I'm blown away by him putting his fingers in his ears and keeping his head down. He should have the same energy now as he had when he was shooting. I know I shouldn't judge but this is so heartbreaking.
@@gwenholland5487 No, you're right Gwen. Remember when Larry Nasser tried to get the Judge to allow him to not be present to hear the impact statements of all those girls he had molested. His attorney said it was just too hard on him and too upsetting. Fortunately, the Judge said too bad. He did the crimes and he will sit here and listen to every word because he owes them at least that much. I just a few minutes ago heard someone say this guy is medicated. He shouldn't be. He should be made to listen to every word and look at every picture. Without anything to full his senses. I'm sure the parents wish they were medicated, too.
As hard as it was to hear, I’m glad the state went the route of asking the doctor to describe each victims’ wounds to put into perspective how much physical damage this SOB caused and what each person’s final moments were like…

I think the autopsy photos are only being shown to the witness/medical examiner and jury. I could be wrong, but I don’t they’re being shown to the family.
All it takes is one juror to vote life and he gets off. I dont like the way the death penalty works. There should be no possibility for a jury to give mercy. There is all the aggrevators here, but one juror can still give him life. Should be instant death for mass murderers.
@@JoolzDroolz i've read both Freds and Maxs twitter and i think what you're saying is true. It infuriates me to watch this coward of a killer sitting there on his low chair making drawings, while the horror of his killing spree is being detailed. Prayers for the victims and their families 🙏🧚🏽♂️.
The families are traumatized for the rest of their lives and they are reliving this now. This is heartbreaking. But let's also be sensitive to the jury. They are viewing evidence that is very disturbing and there is an abundance of it. While the defense is objecting to it as "cumulative", it is necessary for the aggravating factors in this case. The "heinous", "atrocious" nature of his crimes are very relevant. It is also tragic and heartbreaking that the jury is viewing all of this. I hope the court has services available to the jurors after the trial for "debriefing" and counseling. We seldom hear about such services for any jury, but I believe that is important....especially in a case like this.
Agreed! The defense is worried this will push him further to the death penalty, but HE was the one who _CHOSE_ to do this that day... And _unfortunately_ for the Defense, he didn't just kill & hurt *ONE* person (which would've still been awful). He did this to A LOT of people _(and their family and their friends)._ I can't imagine how difficult this must _ALSO_ be for the Jury. Prayers to everyone involved ❤️🙏❤️
@@claudinejames7731 you have no insight as to the impact such graphic and emotional evidence and testimony can have on jurors, especially over a 16 week trial. At least a jury was spared from the guilt phase. Regardless...this will remain with them for quite some time.
I still don’t understand why the judge can’t just determine the sentence, he plead guilty, so why put the families through this difficult trial and the ME testimony.
@TamiLyn Because the prosecutor was seeking the death penalty, a judge cannot normally impose that sentence on their own. It's required to be determined by a jury of their peers, and the families agreed to the trial because that is the sentence they were hoping for. However, in some states a judge can still sentence someone to death and the jury's vote is considered a recommendation. I don't believe Florida is one of those.
SHAME on all the callous people in this comment-thread who complain this "is taking too long" and they "want to see the [grisly] photos" of murdered children with multiple wounds. Have more respect and love for these terrified victims and their suffering parents.
I don't think it's because they just want the thrill! I honestly believe seeing the evidence makes it so much more real. It's hard to follow cases when you don't see everything. But I also get why they don't show everything. This is an absolute tradegy and needs to stop. America stop selling guns it's just not needed
It was so sad and heartbroken to hear the grisly autopsies of martin duque, Alaina petty and Carmen schnetrup, meadow pollack Of how they died and how the bullets enter through their vital organs
Knowing that Mark most likely lived for MINUTES before he died of his wounds makes me so incredibly sad. 4:55:45 The terror these children and teachers went through before their deaths makes me so sad and for the victims to be alive bleeding out for minutes is horrible. May they all rest in peace
There is a men who is in every single court since day 1 trial a father With navy suit today. It really breaks my heart , he is the most devoted one and am sure it was on him specially hard… so sad
ive noticed the same thing. hes been there every single day and the cameras always show the strong emotions he shows and it breaks my heart. you can tell how hurt he is
That’s Alex Schachter’s father, both him and Jamie’s father (in the blue shirt) have been fighting for gun control and creating safe schools since the tragedy happened they are incredibly devoted fathers
Whoever does the initial edit on these, choosing the camera angle focused on individual family members each time their child is spoken of is pretty phuqued up. I get that many watching this are wanting that invasive car accident rubberneck experience - but that doesn’t mean it needs to be catered to at the further expense of these families.
I cannot understand the defense’s argument regarding each witness being able to identify the defendant and claiming it is irrelevant. They’ve already gone over this to the nth degree so what difference would it make if each state witness positively identifies him.
I think it's more about crossing T's and dotting I's so there's no uncertainty. That's about the best reason I can think of but I'm sure there more to it than that
I wish the judge could put that coward in a “Hannibal Lecter” restraint and force him to watch every second of it all. He shouldn’t have the luxury of having a pen and paper to write on as he lowers his head. My heart aches for these parents and what they have endured for so many years.
Unfortunately he would enjoy watching his handiwork and the suffering he inflicted……those beautiful children with the brightest of futures taken out so horrifically and this weak little lump of human tissue remains to gloat at their pain.
Absolutely infuriating how the monster is sitting there doodling and not even paying attention to the havoc and pain he’s caused. It shouldn’t be allowed.

I hate how they have him in those glasses (which dont even fit him). Notice also how he sits in a different chair to look smaller. The perception of what they are betraying him as is disgusting! God bless his victims and their families. 🙏
Agree. This all theatre is pathetic. I heard that his lawyers wanted to give him crayons and colour in books to make him look young and vulnerable, but the court refused.
This is all calculated. This guy thought he could do this and go to prison for life, watch tv there, be alone. Look how he didnt kill himself or waited for the police to arrive to fight them off. When they got him he started acting crazy all planned, if he resisted they kill him. The state surprised him by not taking the plea and going for the death penalty. I mean you killed those kids you confessed to that the death penalty is the right punishment. But watch how his lawyers start bringing how he needed a family and he was bully thats why he did those things. Sick!
I read that also about the crayons. Those glasses make him look "special". What a joke! Hes a cold blooded killer! It was planned and well thought out. They try to portray him as this kid with mental problems. Of course hes got mental issues. People who are sane dont shootup schools. But then they would have to argue that every murderer deserves leniency because of mental health issues. So let's let them all go free. I know there are some who disagree but he needs to die. Hes already attacked a jail guard. Hes not ever going to change!
The school shouldn't have locked the bathrooms. There are federal laws for having so many bathrooms for amount of students. Idk if that would have saved any of these dear people? RIP 🙏
Oh give me a break...there shouldn't have been a deranged teenager able to obtain assault rifles & slaughter kids. In all fairness the "school" shouldn't have to do crap!!! And wasn't there a student shot coming out of the bathroom?
My heart absolutely breaks for every student killed or traumatized by this tragedy. Deal with mental illness, you deal with mass shootings. Quit giving shooters attention, it’s what they want. Whenever media says this is the worst school shooting ever, you’ll get some nitwit that wants their 15 minutes of fame. Every mass shooter should get the death penalty. Some people are wired wrong, like a rabid dog.
In the court we see the camera specifically zoomed in on the family's faces, and it just bugs me. It forces people to notice what state the victims family are in, be it in grief, anger, or apathy, and people begin to put emotional response on the forefront instead of the facts of the case.
@@phoenixmistertwo8815 interesting point. Perhaps for some, you are correct. I, personally didn’t look at parents faces. To me it is obvious that parents are angry and grieving. I saw the videos where he enters a classroom and starts shooting. I see kids screaming in fear or in pain. I heard a student trying to breath and moaning. I see a killer go back and shoot people again to make sure the deed was done. I see videos of police officers taking too long to enter the building while the killer is able to leave the building and buy a slushy as though nothing happened. He sits with a brother to one of the victims and has a conversation with him. It’s the calling card of a no name kid that just made himself famous and made sure his name is remembered. Next comes movie and book deals.

They did at one point in the trial. I wish I could tell you which day, but I don't remember. I believe it was during her family's impact statement, but I'm not sure. It was discussed though.
They don't want to be there. SOMEONE was legally obligated to represent him. It's required by federal law that everyone, regardless of crime/plea, has the right to an attorney. They are likely state-appointed. A mistrial would be declared if it were blatantly obvious they did nothing to help him/assisted the prosecution by pointing out the truth. The truth being zero circumstances (his being a troubled childhood and mental health problems) excuse what he did.
People who are saying they don’t understand how those lawyers can defend him or is it necessary for so many to defend them: I understand where you coming from. HOWEVER, they HAVE to defend him…it is in the constitution (even monsters like him are entitled to that right) and since this is a death penalty case; they are going to have a defense team because they are trying to save his life (though he doesn’t deserve it). IMO idc if he has 1 or 100 lawyers what I want to see is everything being meticulous so the sentence STICKS and he can’t win an appeal!!!!
Poor parents, they look like they’re about to lose it 😔 God give them strength to endure listening to these details about their children’s slaying and PLEASE GOD, bring light to the minds of all the lawmakers that block common sense gun reforms to take place and stop this madness.
If they would have checked into him when he was shooting in his backyard, they may have found guns obtained illegally and he’d be in jail on a mandating charge. We have plenty of gun laws here in Florida. The courts need to USE THEM.

This is very hard to watch and I'm unable to watch very much of it. These parents are completely destroyed. And yet, these shootings go on and on and our lawmakers are unable to work together to find a solution to stop the massacres. What keeps running through my mind is a video I watched early in 2021 of Marjorie Taylor Greene literally chasing (with cameras) a Parkland student down a street asking him why he won't tell the truth that the shooting did not actually happen. She was telling him everyone knew the Democrats had staged it and other school shootings in an effort to violate their 2nd Amendment rights and take away everyone's guns. It was a short clip but it brought me to tears. This young man was so brave. He just ducked his head and kept walking, never acknowledging her at all. But you could tell by the way his shoulders hunched as he walked that her words were hurting him terribly. If we had Republican lawmakers with an ounce of integrity or empathy, she would have been booted out of office for a stunt like that. But, as usual, they did nothing. Kevin McCarthy allowed her to continue with such rhetoric and continue to pull other stunts like this. It was thoughtless at the least and absolutely horrendous at best but he was too much of a pansy to punish her though the public was crying out for her to be removed from office. He "had a talk with her" and told her to settle down. And we all know that did not stop her vicious attacks on anyone who would dare to disagree with her. The grieving of the parents and other students and faculty should never have been subject to such a despicable act be a representative. Our elected officials should be (and used to be) held to a higher standard. If they are not able to do that, they have no business being in Congress. It's disgraceful and disgusting. I can only pray for the many people directly affected by this heinous act of murder and those that have followed. And pray that our lawmakers on both sides of the aisle will somehow act like adults and do their jobs to find a bipartisan solution to prevent these massacres from continuing. They're not on the playground fighting over whose turn it is to bat. They are there ... have been elected by their constituents ... to handle the business of the country. And that means all of the country, not just "their side". It doesn't matter why this young man did what he did, the damage is done and that damage continues while ALL of our lawmakers sit on their hands and play politics. We should all be ashamed.
Sorry, I don’t know his name, but the gentleman at 5:08 looks so horrified at the autopsy report. Must be so difficult to be a parent and to hear such graphic details, even if they aren’t your child. I believe he’s the father of a boy who died?
Mr. Schachter is showing emotion and sadness for all involved. Every time I see him, my heart breaks. He is feeling the pain and agony of every person slained that day, those injured and their surviving family and friends.
Cruz is admiring his work and to what he has done. It’s like beautiful art to him. I wished they would make him sit up straight and listen and watch every single person who takes the stand.
Why is the killer sitting so low in the chair as opposed to everyone else?? The killer should look and listen to everything that was done in that high school. Keeping the head down is disrespectful to ALL the people that died and those that came to rescue the survivors..but then again the killer has no moral code. At 55min. it says "no sound until the judge is seated", but there she is seated and still NO SOUND. It's more like the audience doesn't get to hear about the recording. You can clearly see this Dr. who had to examine the bodies clearly was wrought with pain from all the teenagers he had to see. It is much different from a full grown person that he views. May the killer relive this each and every moment until death.

This can’t be easy for the medical examiner, to sit in front of these innocent kids parents and discuss all the injuries they received. My heart breaks for everyone involved….and there are SO many people that this senseless tragedy impacted.

I was thinking the opposite, defense witnesses were very quick the 1st few days
This fact is too sad. My most sincere condolences as well as admiration and respect for the parents who attend court every day to witness how justice is done to their children. May the punishment received by Mr. Cruz be the most severe that US justice dictates.

But let's also be sensitive to the jury. They are viewing evidence that is very disturbing and there is an abundance of it. In the court we see the camera specifically zoomed in on the family's faces, and it just bugs me. It forces people to notice what state the victims family are in, be it in grief, anger, or apathy, and people begin to put emotional response on the forefront instead of the facts of the case.

The Dr is Ukrainian
Think of all the parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, classmates, friends etc. etc. etc Ugh! Just to be so filled with hate.
I'm sure this one was the worse he ever had to do. To do so many kids and multiple wounds and probably had a hard time identifying them and having to let parents know their child was a victim smh. The man who did Robb elementary said it was the worse he ever has done.
Hes Ukrainian
If it makes anyone feel better, today's testimony CONFIRMS that the moaning we can hear on Day 1 in room 1213 is in fact Maddy right before passing out, and not Carman, who we now know was killed instantly.
Maddy Wilford and Anthony Borges got the worst of Nik's rampage.
What about the calling for help? I think it was Martin Duque
@@helldontcare Martin Duque was shot many many times, from what I remember the Dr. states about 2 minutes until death, he was also one of the first student shot. The hallway student is Anthony Borges, especially strong kid who testified a couple days ago and is willing to show his scars.
It doesn't. You can tell she moved in the video that they never showed. The blood under her was smeared.. and it sounds like Meadow had movement" after. I assume from her brain injury. Her injuries were horrific like the brain injury, the paralysis, hip shatter.. just uhh.
There is agonal breathing in the background. The moaning isn't her but the grunting is.
I really hope the obvious partiality on part of this judge doesn't get this guy an appeal in the years to come..
He’ll already have appeals, regardless, because that’s the process. How has she been partial? Because she’s admitting the exhibits over the defense’s objections?
@@slaws2279do you mean impartial? If so, then to answer your question, no not necessarily..
I believe her demeanor is very pro state and it shows. Her tone of voice could be better and YES I do believe in a compiled format, without any weighing of the probative or prejudicial value of SENTENCING factors is not what it should be, or what I would considered a balanced scale. But of course that is only my opinion.
Thank you for your hard and great work sorry you have to see this
Who are you talking to?
Cruz should have been forced to sit up like the man he isn’t & watch every detail of the court proceedings.
They went for a 15 minute break and came back over 3hrs later lol
Oh my goodness I’m so gutted by the autopsy reports of these babies! I’m so sorry to their parents and family and friends having to hear and see the horrific nightmares the victims endured. Can I ask who is the older gentleman who sat in the front pew throughout? He understandably always had a grim look, but I don’t think he’s a family member, maybe he is.. just wondering what victim is he related to? Thank you in advance for answering my question to anyone! Blessings to the victims dear families! 😢😢💔💔
I was wondering the same thing, the camera seems to land on him quite often. He must be someone’s grandpa or something…and yes your correct, he seems to always have a really grumpy expression all the time.
Father of Alex Schachter
@@awright119021 I recognize Alex”s dad and his step mom. I’m taking about the older gentleman who always sits by himself on the front pew. But thank you for your answer.
@@awright119021 yes we’re referring to the older guy who has a moustache and has grey hair
Why do the subtitles get removed?
The judge. IDK. Seems….immature for a case of this levity.
Gravity not levity.
@@Psyminds you seem eager to project your own preconceived judgements. Maybe look within?
Hä???
She’s a bit lenient here so as to prevent, as much as possible, grounds for appeals or even a mistrial
So, Carmen was 6’0”, and Meadow was 4’10”. Interesting.
No, Carmen was 5'5"
@@ALH626 honestly, that sounds like a height that would make more sense even though the medical examiner said she was 72”.
Note 5:55:33 Cruz is watching the screen and his lawyer seems to instruct him back to his doodles..
He knows he can't look at the lives he took. Its gonna haunt him for years, if he does get live in prison, which I'm hoping on.
People like him don't deserve to see the end of life, just the end of living a life.
@@LazyPirate8 no he had no remorse. Killers often get gratification when looking at their victims/what they have done. He’s instructed to look like he can’t handle it when in reality he wanted this and is probably proud of himself.
Yes his names is Max Schachter
Yeah…he likes to make faces.
Mr. Schachter is showing emotion and sadness for all involved. Every time I see him, my heart breaks. He is feeling the pain and agony of every person slained that day, those injured and their surviving family and friends.
I've noticed Cruz looking into the gallery quite a lot throughout this trial I wonder why.
Cruz is admiring his work and to what he has done. It’s like beautiful art to him. I wished they would make him sit up straight and listen and watch every single person who takes the stand.
Is Nicholas even paying attention??!!?! He is drawing or writing a letter. He has NO interest in taking responsibility!
His lawyer is telling him too
I guess to look "troubled" but it makes him look even more heartless
Ngl the older bald gentleman kinda looks like the OG professor X but like a Walmart brand version
Now I’m gonna see this the whole trial lol
@@kmichaelkillz welcome to my world 😂
Mr. Cruz should not be able to doodle. He should have to listen and watch.
What pretending to be screwed looks like.
😉🫵 Good One 👍
I hope this man will have remorse to his final days
Please someone come through with the time stamps 😭
@daleth has time stamps, on my chat it was 45 min ago but hard to say if same for you. Not too far from top of chat. I'm on mobile app tho
Does Dr Boiko say the high velocity bullet tumbles so that’s why the exit wound is larger?
Borgas showed his wounds, big as a silver dollar.
Yes
They should make him look at EVERYTHING!!
AND PAY ATTENTION...
For goodness sakes leave the camera on the witness
So we learned Meadow's height is listed as 4'10"
Why is the killer sitting so low in the chair as opposed to everyone else?? The killer should look and listen to everything that was done in that high school. Keeping the head down is disrespectful to ALL the people that died and those that came to rescue the survivors..but then again the killer has no moral code. At 55min. it says "no sound until the judge is seated", but there she is seated and still NO SOUND. It's more like the audience doesn't get to hear about the recording. You can clearly see this Dr. who had to examine the bodies clearly was wrought with pain from all the teenagers he had to see. It is much different from a full grown person that he views. May the killer relive this each and every moment until death.
the witnesses are great, i really liked how dr. boiko stated everything factually
Defense you may as well stop objecting with every thing the state brings forth
