Very nice work. I wish I had all of this amazing information 30 years ago when I was building ship models (plastic ones). I did
the USS United States, the Cutty Sark and I started the HMS Victory but never finished it because, when I got married, my wife
had a cat and, in our little apartment, cats and rigging did not get along very well. Charlie (the cat), tried to help with the ropes
but, in a fit of exuberance, he pushed the entire model down from its shelf. Poor Admiral Nelson never expected that!
Thanks for posting this series. The biggest thing I've learned is to use super glue instead of fussing with all of the knots. Back
in the day, standard model glue wouldn't dry fast enough to use in that manner. What is the trade-name for that glue you use?
If I ever pick this hobby back up, I'm going to want to use it, too.

Nice work ! The rigging and sails always bring the ships to life. When you order your ropes from ropes of scale, how do you know how much you need?

This is fantastic work. How do you work out which scale of rope to use. Is there a big visible difference from 1.2 to 1.4?

Hi! It not that hard, i know from experience that the standard rope is 0,45mm so i know that the rope ladders should be around twice that and the thick ropes for the standing rigging should me more. Between 1,2 and 1,4 it is not that visible , but from 1.0 to 1,4 it is a lot. try the Ropes of Scale and you will never use any other ropes, i guaranty that :)
