I hate how nowadays society craps on anything feminine. Nothing wrong with princess. I understand it's important to teach children (especially little girls) about being independent and that they can do things for themselves. But, what's wrong with promoting balance? It's okay to be feminine, caring, gentle, etc. There isn't ONLY value in being masculine, strong, leading, etc. Then Disney princesses are strong in a unconventional way....there is strength in their feminine energy. Feminism is about equality, saying being masculine and feminine are both important and equal. Not that everyone should be masculine and femininity is weak. I hate that narrative.

Temara and Adrienne try to make everything about them and their lives, in a talk show u need to understand other perceptions and ideas, so self centered, let Jeannie and Loni talk more
JEANNIE IS BEYOND THIS SHOW ;princess in many of the fairytales we watched growing up meant someone who was waiting to saved by prince charming;DAMSEL IN DISTRESS waiting to be saved, who are victims to evil step sisters and witches and are saved by a prince.Disney only modified the narrative because of the feminist movement .There is no way a kid understands that it not reality especially if we dress them up and call them princess.I grew up believing fairytales and silly soaps that are fashioned the same way.Its an unrealistic protrayal of women.
I disagree, I think Disney princesses taught valuable traits. It depends how you look at it. Most, if not all, of the princesses were kind, gentle, loving, and caring. They remained the same despite all of the negatives of society (represented by witches and evil step sisters lol). I think there is something to be said about people,in real life, with those traits. Disney princesses taught a different kind of strength and power....femininity! Too many times, society shames feminine energy and only acknowledges the strength in masculinity. But there is strength in femininity and Disney princesses had that strength. I think that's what Tamera was trying to get at (which is a fair point) I don't think Jeannie is "beyond" this show.
i feel like Disney princess have come a long especially when you look at the older princess vs the recent princesses but even the older ones have positive things about them
Ladies you all have a point. I rediscovered my kindness and gentleness because it seemed like a weakness for long time, some people look and talk about you like you're an alien but then others are comfoted by it so, so for me it took time to embrace it again and keep it despite cruelty of others. Also, this prince thing coming and saving me, I was completely unaware but yeah subconciously I did expect it despite my mom warrning me when I was a girl that it's not rational. I just tought she was anoying and a pessimist 😂

Cutting Jeannie off as usual. It is used in two ways. A positive way when it's a younger girl and used to call her adorable, cute, pretty, whatever. And a negative way with an adult woman when she's entitled, bratty, rude, high maintenance, spoiled, snobby or when a woman brings up legitimate issues and others dismiss them with "ok princess".

I’ve never associated Princess with spoiled. I’ve always seen it as a compliment. I think of Disney princesses and there’s good qualities associated with them 🤷🏾♀️
I understand why some people find “Princess” sexist. At one of my jobs, my coworker got promoted to manager and whenever she would tell the employees what to do they’d groan and say “yes princess” or “here comes the princess again” which made her seem like she was bossy or too controlling just for doing her job! Yes Disney has done a great job showing princesses in a positive life but in REAL LIFE, aside from children when has being called a princess been a good thing? I think I agree that we need to change the definition of what a princess it. It’s happening slowly though
Natasha Exactly it has definitely been used in a condescending way in the real world especially in the workplace. It was really annoying that they were dismissing Jeannie’s point.
The word "princess" it can go many directions and it just depends on how people say it or representing it as. When I think of the word princess as a child it's like oh I'm special in a good way. As a adult I think of it in Disney princess way which is confident, kind, hardworking, adventurous and independent. Like there's a quote from a Barbie movie called Princess Charm School and the character Blaire/Princess Sophia say "There's a princess in every girl " I love that quote so much. So don't think of the word princess in a bad way because it can be in a good way too.
Hmm. I haven't heard that term used in a long while. I guess it depends on the context. Nothing is wrong with the word though. As long as it is used respectfully.
I’m a guy and one of my guy friends used to call me “princess” as both a derogatory term and a term of endearment. I’m gay. And also at the time I was so nice/noble to EVERYONE that I was sometimes naive as to people’s ill intentions. I took forever to get ready because I always HAD to look good. And i wasn’t hyper masculine like all all the other (straight) dudes in our friend group. So he called me a princess to make fun off all of those afore mentioned traits and to call me high maintenance. But it was also his term of endearment for me because he was my closest friend in that friend group and he’d literally be my knight in shining armor when I needed help with anything or if someone tried to start something with me (even tho I could easily defend myself. I’m not scared to throw hands). But yeah, that is a perfect example of both the positive and negative connotations that could be inferred when calling someone a princess. I’m really confused as to how none of the other girls picked up on Jeanie’s point. She was spot on.
God thank u someone who finally gets it. The whole conversation was just pointless.😴 Since when did the word princess become sexist. Some father and mothers call there baby girl princess. 😒
i didn't know there was a definition like that for the word princess lol i get what Jeannie saying i get what everyone saying but i feel like it's not really a negative thing unless you use it that way
So Jeannie needs to be the other mom on this show. Tamera is too conservative and outdated sometimes. I love hearing a different perspective. But it seems to only be respected on topics like this once you are a mother. So please push this Lor blasian out already mai goodness.
Cinderella was always a Princess, not only through marriage. Her birth mother (the queen) died of illness and so the father married the step mother who forced her down from her princess status to a maid because of jealousy. She simply got her status back at the end of the movie and she showed what a true “princess” encompassed. Getchyo facts straighhhht ;)
Some do mean it positively, with no ill intention. Being fair, some people DO see it as Jeannie described! Otherwise why would it need to be changed? She's right! Me personally, I just feel like whether they change it or not we need to stop encouraging our children to define and redefine themselves based on fiction and/or the opinion of others. Teach them to see themselves for who they are and receive it based on their true attributes and aspirations. If it don't fit just don't receive it. I'm telling you man we are what we eat!
These girls are ignorant and I'm so glad Jeannie said something. Being a princess is 'cute' when you're young... a 35 year old being called princess is usually not cute...because by then you're a woman, an adult, and you should be independent...you should upgrade to queen
@@elygonzalez677 that's true..but it is also true that princess can be negative. Idk why the girls seemed so oblivious to that word having that connotation
why Tamara keep having Lonnie and her negative energy around her family? especially since she stated she doesn't believe in the "girl code" on the Khloe video. she need to keep that chick at a distance!!!!
It depends on the context on how people are saying “Princess” also Jeannie was right, Cinderella wasn’t a princess from the beginning she was a servant who married the prince and became a princess, belle didn’t start out as a princess, tiana didn’t start out as a princess, and Moana technically isn’t a princess, Mulan isn’t a princess... I get what she was trying to say they totally talked over her and said even at the end were like try not to look at princesses as negative all the time, Jeanie wasn’t she was just saying it can be said as a negative
In Australia it's used to call someone out on being a high maintenance brat...they complain about the tiniest things...so in these cases you say "toughen up princess"
I don't like how they kept cutting Jeannie off. She is correct. Princess has a negative connotation and a positive. But we're not about to sit here and act like its never been said to mock someone or be mean to them. I've seen it with my own eyes. They say it sarcastically to someone they feel is entitled, only likes things to be done for her, and is a brat, etc. For the people who don't see the negative connotation, it happens and it isn't a false perspective. I've seen it with my own eyes. A man saying "okay, princess, let everyone do everything for you cause you're lazy" or "we don't live in a castle, princess, do your own laundry" and so on. So no, it isn't just a positive or a word a father calls his daughter. It can be mean and it can be sexist. End of story.
Fathers use the word “princess” to their daughters all the time not necessarily to call them spoiled little brats but to show the love they have for them so it can definitely go both ways depending on the circumstances.
I think it depends on how you say it, I call my daughters princesses endearingly but I have heard it said negatively also in reference to someone being a spoiled brat. Tam is kinda annoying me here.
Jeannie is actually right here & nobody was even tryna hear it. There is a derogatory version of the word princess.

I hate now how the meaning of it is being taken over by a very negative connotation and I can't stand those righteous pompous feminists who want to distroy and actual beautiful positive word really!!
I'm just so sick and tired of it!!!
If my man calls me his princess I melt!! I feel so good in it!! And it makes me feel even more feminine and lived!!
Honestly I'm exhausted that people are trying to trumple this word into such a negative shi*ty connotation!!
SERIOUSLY, ALL YOU CAN SAY ABOUT TIANA IS SHE'S ADVENTUROUS??? UGH, all the white ones they have great details and she's just adventurous? Anyone can be that.
Her name is spelled Tiana* and I totally agree with you.
Dude its not that deep. Y'all stay reaching 😒
@@kokoaverage5239 it is
Ms. Wilson WHY IS EVERYTHING ABOUT RACE FUCKS SAKE
They could of said "Tiana was a hard working young women who work really hard and saved her money because she wanted to accomplished her dream and her family's and become a business owner ..she never was discouraged by anyone...like Tiana was a really strong women ..one of the best princess out there !
Oh my God!!!!!!!!! Loni saying "Prince and the Frog Face Bitch" had my soul resurrecting! I'm DEADDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!
Yeah but come on!!!
Why are we giving AIR to such a negative term!!
This is what I don't like and don't want to hear from Jeenie!! I appreciated that the girls weren't giving it so much space because there's nothing wrong with being called a princess, as a girl or as an adult!! It should never be considered a negative term!!
Princess is such a term of endearment and cherishing!! That's it!!
I'm not going to accept or let other meanings of it taint the word!! Plain and simple!!
Anyone who thinks otherwise about the word princess is just a bitter old a$$!!! And got issues!!
Why are they acting ignorant! Jeannie is right it can be used in a derogatory way
Is the word Queen sexist? Dumb question.
I'm princess Tausha and I love it........
I loooove Loni, she is so motherly and her heart is sooo big! Makes me emotional, people like this are rare and a true blessing.
Loni really??!?
She's the most sarcastic and slightly bitter of them all! Naaahh hahaha
I find Tamera so beautiful in her personality!! Much more positive and beautiful!
I think what Jeannie was getting at was princess being used towards grown women. That’s another discussion within itself.
Can yall shut up and listen to JEANNIE 😒
I totally get it its like when someone says "you're such a diva"
I was thinking this but not princess
Omg . Imagine getting paid to talk about this topic
😂😂😂 I do that for free with my friends, I wish someone paid me
Vando Varela ikr like damnnn. I would have to go to uni, get a whole a$$ degree just to get less then a fraction of what these people sit around making. Ahhhh, the fun.
Princess do have more negative connotations than positive periodt. I 100% agree with jennie
☹️
Sami Arun mahmood I feel they didn’t get her point
Whenever I hear princess all I imagine is some dude making fun of an entitled woman
🤔
Then maybe you have an incorrect perspective of the word cuz it's really not that deep.
Dr Shrimp Puerto Rico all I hear is a dad calling his little girl princess or a boyfriend calling his girlfriend
Me too,All I see is someone bratty, you know like whatever you want princess kind of way
@@domitila.m it's not the incorrect perspective because it does happen a lot and I've seen it happen
I’m 20 and a family member 🤢 calls me princess (b*tchy) because my dad takes care of my life financially

Loni has me weak with the finger in the milk story 🤣🤣🤣
I am waiting for Adrienne to stop saying...”I am not a mother but” prayers up when your ready 🙏🏽
Who's here after Adrienne welcomed her son?
Princess is a beautiful word. I picture a Princess like Diana...I got a cup and everything!
Gosh. Is anything acceptable these days🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Haha...I know. Soon everything will be offensive
I’ve never associated Princess with spoiled. I’ve always seen it as a compliment. I think of Disney princesses and there’s good qualities associated with them 🤷🏾♀️
No there’s not lol all Disney princesses do is desperately go after men and wait to be saved
nicole avery if that’s how you choose to see it...
It was really annoying that they were dismissing Jeannie’s point.
people offended about everything
The word "princess" it can go many directions and it just depends on how people say it or representing it as. When I think of the word princess as a child it's like oh I'm special in a good way. As a adult I think of it in Disney princess way which is confident, kind, hardworking, adventurous and independent. Like there's a quote from a Barbie movie called Princess Charm School and the character Blaire/Princess Sophia say "There's a princess in every girl " I love that quote so much. So don't think of the word princess in a bad way because it can be in a good way too.
Jeannie is spitting straight facts. Remember when Alex used to mock Jo by calling her “princess”
idk, i agree with jeannie but tbh for me, i’ve always seen the word “princess” being used when your bae talks to you ? like in a cute, pet name ?
Hmm. I haven't heard that term used in a long while. I guess it depends on the context. Nothing is wrong with the word though. As long as it is used respectfully.
I am one of five kids and the three of us in the middle are females. My Dad still calls us all his princesses and I am the youngest at 32!
Princess to me was always used for spoiled and brat
So yes ....
I always thought it had positive connotations.
@@mimia.4810 depends on the tone
Keren Carrillo really it was always pretty and kind for me
I was waiting for somebody to point out how it’s all about tone
Jeannie needs her own show ! Podcast or something her views on everything or sooo relatable and she’s the REALest one.
Loni be swearing to much for daytime tv 🤣 she so funny 😂❤️
However, tamera be pissing me of recently.
Tamera is taking it personally! This topic seems very serious to her 🤣
I’m a guy and one of my guy friends used to call me “princess” as both a derogatory term and a term of endearment.
It’s not that deep.
God thank u someone who finally gets it. The whole conversation was just pointless.😴 Since when did the word princess become sexist. Some father and mothers call there baby girl princess. 😒
We cant call people anything!😒 we are just going to call you: *Existing Presence*
😭😭
Mulan IS👏MY👏GIRL👏!! Princess or not! 😭😭
The girls talking about Disney movies
Loni: or Shrek
The Disney Community started quacking 😂
I'm with Adrienne on the toddler!
Aww tam, "she enjoyed the music.." that was so sweet !
Like Adrienee said. "Let's try to find the positive in everything instead of the negative."
i didn't know there was a definition like that for the word princess lol i get what Jeannie saying i get what everyone saying but i feel like it's not really a negative thing unless you use it that way
So Jeannie needs to be the other mom on this show. Tamera is too conservative and outdated sometimes. I love hearing a different perspective. But it seems to only be respected on topics like this once you are a mother. So please push this Lor blasian out already mai goodness.
maybe the rumors are true!!
Why is it that after Loni's contagious laughter I immediately laughed out like her? Hmmm!?
this is such a good fit on Loni, her makeup and her hair. Get it girl
Thank youuuuu!!!! I was wondering which Cinderella they were talking about, coz she’s always been a princess.
Loni
".. and I put this on my stand-up.." 👀
Whenever a good word gets used in a derogatory manner. We toss the good word aside. We neglect good.
How do the 3 stooges not get what Jeannie is saying. Everyone knows princess can be used as a derogatory term.
Turned back into the Tree monsters 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rubi C it all depends on preference
Maybe a girl likes to be called princess by her boyfriend or husband
Nothing wrong with that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@elygonzalez677 that's true..but it is also true that princess can be negative. Idk why the girls seemed so oblivious to that word having that connotation
How could they not understand this? I have heard ppl use the word princess in a negative way. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and we do it too!
Awww, you all look like 'princesses' i.e. looking so pretty and looking like you came from a magical place😍🤗🎉
I call my daughter a princess when she is being kind
why Tamara keep having Lonnie and her negative energy around her family? especially since she stated she doesn't believe in the "girl code" on the Khloe video. she need to keep that chick at a distance!!!!
I get what she was trying to say they totally talked over her and said even at the end were like try not to look at princesses as negative all the time, Jeanie wasn’t she was just saying it can be said as a negative
y'all i love them but they can make me REAL mad
tamera girl ur not just a mother or wife
Adrienne has this ,,pick me" vibe
Loni has a bad additude
Im with adrienne on this...im leaving the kids that are too young (to even enjoy or remeber) while me and husband go on a vacation....sometimes....
In Australia it's used to call someone out on being a high maintenance brat...they complain about the tiniest things...so in these cases you say "toughen up princess"
This is ridiculous 😑
Just depends on how it's said but it's really not that deep
Jeannie is 100% right.
It's the tone on how it's said that could be endearing or condescending
My parents did both. They took their lil vacations and we did family ones. We always stayed with my grandmother or cousins and we were cool
Jeannie was right.
I never hear princess used in a derogatory way so im glad no one on the panel agrees with her.
Tamara always thinks that she’s right. She constantly talks over people and gets mad when people talk over her !
I remember when Alex used to call Jo princess all the time 😂
yall forgot about mulan, pocahontas, merida, rapunzel, etc. give all the princesses representation if your gonna make an argument.
Fathers use the word “princess” to their daughters all the time not necessarily to call them spoiled little brats but to show the love they have for them so it can definitely go both ways depending on the circumstances.
This like changing the word "idiot" to mean honest and open-minded.
Why don't they just let Jeanie get her point out!?
Never wanted Tamera to shut up so bad 🤦🤦🤦
I think it depends on how you say it, I call my daughters princesses endearingly but I have heard it said negatively also in reference to someone being a spoiled brat. Tam is kinda annoying me here.
