Welcome to my channel in this video I would like to show how you can make a security onion lab for Network security monitoring at home on a virtual box, This tutorial is only for educational purposes kindly do not use it against any government or other illegal activities, Please make this lab totally isolated from the live and other networks. Should be fully standalone on your laptop, make sure laptop Wi-Fi and wired connections are disabled thank you.

What is used for collecting event logs in this video?
I see that the logs are stored in Kibana, but I dont understand how kibana is receiving them. Can you explain please?

Hi I followed the steps and tried pinging the host(my pc) to client 10
10.10.2 but it failed but if I ping from host to client it went through. My I know the problem?

Hi shoaib kindly check again ur NIC seetings in virtual box and also try to turn off the win 7 firewall hopefully it will fix the issues
