Difficult to pick between, I have a new Goldwing tour, not the DCT I like control, having had a Heritage and a Glide in the past, the Honda is just so refined, and with the cruise on , stereo playing through my SENA and the heated seat, grips and screen up, its a nice place to be for a long days ride, and the best bit no fatigue. Father Time sucks. Rode sport bikes all my life but the time came where I had to move to something more comfortable. Test rode many bikes and it came down to a Harley Street Glide and a Godwing Tour DCT. Went with the wing for two reasons, power and handling. Guess it really comes down to what your looking for in the riding experience. The Harley has soul and character but being an experienced rider it would not allow me to ride the way I prefer, to heavy to slow. The Wings Handling is head and shoulders above the Harley and the power is not in the same ball park. Easy choice for me.
Great contrast guys. Watched to see how you would go about it. I am a Gold Wing owner so you know what I prefer. That said, riding any bike comes down to personal opinion. I have lots of HD friends and have no issues with their bike. However, when we do group rides, they go to the back because riding behind one for a day can cause headaches. Thanks for the vid...
Bikes are like anything some days I like t shirt and boots , some days I like loafers and shorts , it’s all about what mood your in on that day and what you have planned to do , that’s why I have a road king , a gold wing and a GSXR 1000 and 30 pairs of shoes 😁😎
Don’t apologize for the cow it adds to the authenticity of your video and your surroundings. Absolutely love watching your reviews! You guys are awesome and setting is amazing!
I’ve had many bikes in my life (20). In my opinion, ride a big Harley is WOW (I’ve had 5; currently Heritage 114), is emotional, hard to explain (like why do you love your family?). The Honda is just a very good machine that moves you from A to B with some sensations (acceleration...). I’ve had 4 Honda, very good bikes
I love the look and sound of Harley, although I wouldn’t put loud pipes on it. I like the quiet rumble of the stock exhaust. Harleys are definitely candy for the eyes. If money was no object, I’d have several bikes, Harley being one of them. But since money is a limiting factor for me, my bike of choice is the GoldWing. I currently own a 2013 F6B. Great bike. I’ve had it 4 years and put 42,000, trouble free kms on it. I’ve just ordered a 2021 Tour DCT. Pretty excited about it. It’s a big chunk of change, but I’m 68 years young and none of us know how long we’re going to be here. So, as the saying goes..... “Buy the damn motorcycle!” My significant other and I plan to do a lot of riding this season.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I hear you! I really like the Harley look. If only they made them more powerful, smoother and more reliable over the long haul. I’ve never been one to draw attention to myself, although my black F6B received a lot of comments over the years. But non of the Hondas have the same curb appeal as a Harley or Indian.
I own a 2018 Heritage and love it! With that being said, I would definitely buy a Goldwing someday. They are SUPER powerful. By the way, Excellent review guys and great content on this channel. Keep up the good work!!
Interesting video. 50 years riding on everything from Honda PC50 to ST1100, Kawasaki, Indian and Harley Cruisers and umpteen sports bikes - Suzukis and Hondas, plus an R1250GS. Toured all over Europe and North Africa. Last three have been Harleys - Street Bob and two Street Glides. Loved them BUT the suspension is consistently awful. Spine jarring on moderate road bumps and my pillion complained consistently through France last summer, I was very aware of it too. Picking up a new Goldwing bagger tomorrow. Big differences will be suspension that works, reverse gear, more weather protection and no clutch. (The Harley clutch became hard work round Paris). I won't miss the horrific metallic CLANG and jolt on the wonderful Milwaukee 114 when you first drop into gear from cold start. FFS don't put aftermarket pipes on the EU5 and later - the warning lights will drive you mad. Yep the Harleys are cool as F*** but you pay for it - every accessory (£800 Harley heated grips fitted - Honda standard), every service. Honda comes with 3 years free everything in UK right now - services, Euro roadside assist and warranty. Both UK websites and apps are sh*t in my opinion - Harley bends over backwards to hide their prices, Honda's is a b*gger to navigate. (BMW app is brilliant, records your rides in detail if you want). I won't miss the wet seats on the Harleys - dealer told me that's standard as they're built for California. I couldn't see anywhere on their UK website where it says your bum will always have a big wet spot? Unnacceptable, as is the soft Harley paint. If the new Wing is half as good as my old ST1100 I'm going to be in piggy heaven. 5 years and 80,000 miles later she was as good as new, only needed one set new front wheel bearings - under warranty. Cruise all day on Autobahn at 90 to 130 smoking a fag and open face helmet. Way to go!
Good Summary - Similar story to me and am in the twilight of my life long motorcycling adventure and just bought a BMW K1600GT - although another Goldwing was tempting and yes, I feel that if Honda had simply added a 6 speed transmission and cruise control to the ST - who would need more? 👍😎
Well the new 2023 Wing DCT bagger has been and gone. Toured Benelux, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and back. Fabulous, but nearly got caught a couple of times with the sheer weight. Could feel an old hernia scar starting to nip so chopped in 6 months ago for Forza 750 DCT. Light, fun and 50 around town, to 60+ mpg longer runs. Now done 2500 miles, lots of smiles. Helmet and gloves fit under seat, nice touch.
HD for me, the reason for my choice is that HD shows Personality gives better access to most all Riding Clubs \ MC's \ 1% \ HOG much more fun in general
When you say riding the Harley is more involved, that's the bike for me. At least at this stage in my life, the engagement with the machine is one of the aspects of motorcycling I enjoy most.
i’m a harley guy but i gotta go for honda for the durability and technology.handsdown, honda is easily superior than harley in quality and durability.not saying that harley aren’t durable and dosent have good quality.having owned a sportster, roadking and currently having harley heritage,i gotta say honda is better atleast personally.good video as always dude, keep it up.
The Honda is the better bike but not the one I would want to own. My touring choice would be the Harley Road King. Nice review, can almost smell the countryside 🐄
Your analogies are spot on. The bike you want when you get there. Ridden Japanese 2 stroke dirt bikes to litre sports bikes, nothing had felt the same as a rider’s bike like my old Road King. It handles like crap, top speed of nothing, the slight tilt in a corner and I’m scrapping everything. It’s a workout just to park it but kids wave at me at the lights on the Harley. Random guys give me the thumb up on a 17 years old bike. Seems like everyone else agrees with this good old chap than the other rockets I’ve ridden. I stay beside a helicopter airbase, so loud exhaust isn’t considered obnoxious at all.
The biggest crime of 2020 so far is why on earth did I never find this channel before. Watching from Alberta Canada, originally from Yorkshire and ride a Triumph Trophy SE. looks like a great channel going to be flying thru these videos for the next month of winter!!!
I own a Goldwing DCT 2021 and considering a Harley as a second motor because of the differences. But i like the push from the Newton Meters of both motors. I do not know yet which HD to buy. But damn the Goldwing is the best motor i ever had.
I got 1 of each and love them both for different reasons O4 wide glide twin cam 88 which I've customized extensively to suite me and a 22 goldwing bagger for longer trips. Both serve different purposes and both are amazing bikes in different ways
There are no comparisons here. A Harley-Davidson is for people that like old muscle cars cool sounding engines and good classy old fashioned looks. Goldwings are for people who would rather drive something like a Ferrari or a sports car that's modern day convenience. I like both. The Harley is better for social gatherings and the Honda is great for commuting 40 miles back and forth to work or a quiet ride with the misses. They are both great motorcycles for completely different reasons.
Exactly, if I were to do a cross country trip here in the US, I'd pick the Honda hands down. Goldwings have a looooong reputation for comfort, power, reliability and a real road trip machine.
Personally, that Goldwing is so gorgeous. HD is a beautiful bike as well. I have realized how much I enjoy hearing my surroundings when I'm riding through the mountain areas of Washington State. Not listening to my V&H Short Shots for hours is now what I love. I get it. I'm not $#/++!#g on Harley's and loud pipes. But I've changed. One thing I will say... My Ducati 748 was the sexiest loud exhaust.
I’d take the Honda because of the reverse. I like the Harley better in all other ways though. I had a 2020 Road King but had to give it up when my knee imploded (not the bike’s fault). Very good video.
Growing up in the late 70's early 80's there was always a HD in our garage at all times- At the age of 17 I'd snuck in a few rides while the parents were on vacation only to be busted once they had returned because I'd added leaded fuel and the new bike required unleaded (my father always had his bikes custom painted so the warning sticker was long gone!!) Love the ride of the Harley but for me in my 50's now its the GW for the win
I have the Honda and instead of moving to An HD touring, I bought an older Night Train. The HD “soul” is real but the engine and precision of the Honda on long rides or 2 up is effortless.
I like both bikes butThe HD heritage is more my style because I ride solo and don't ride long distance very much and I like being able to remove the wind screen. I'm sure the golding would be best for long hiway trips.
First of all let me say this there is no wrong answer and you gentlemen did a fine job with your evaluation. But now here is my perspective and I’m kind of a loaner type personality so the Harley Davidson clubs and all that never really meant much to me anyway. I had a 2019 CVO limited that I recently sold. I decided to look at the 2021 CVO limited that is coming out right now. When I seen that Harley Davidson has done away with a hydraulic clutch and that you only get one wireless headset now instead of two and that the price had went up. I was not excited at all about the 2021 CVO Limited. So I started researching and looking at the new Honda Gold wing and for what you get for the money plus the styling is something I find to be much more sportier than the past then I’m going to probably buy the Honda Gold wing. So my fifth Harley I guess was my last.
I own a 2020 Street Glide Special and if I had to do it all over again I would have bought the Gold Wing. I ride about 50,000 miles a year so the clunky transmission on the HD gets on my nerves.
Yes, both. The Harley for lazy warm sunny days and the Goldwing for every other day with some kind of weather. I feel a better comparison is the Indian Challenger and the Goldwing.
I'd love both. Love the sound of the Harley, and the look. I don't care if people think I'm "showing off" on a harley. There is something about the sound and feel of a Harley that makes you feel awesome! On the other hand Honda is known for reliability, and the goldwing is king of comfort.
The plastic on the Harley RoadGlide is thick and not flimsy. The plastic on the Honda is thin and lacks rigidity. The Honda is smooth as butter where the Harley is a bit chattery. If I were younger, I’d choose the Harley. At 60+ I choose the GoldWing.
With bikes that size and weight, for the sort of roads I ride, hilly, narrow country roads, roads too narrow for cars to pass without passing places, the one with reverse works for me.
Yes absolutely! I’ve had some difficult moments trying to manoeuvre in such situations. That’s why I’m looking at getting a Triumph Bonneville or such like now
Enjoyed the review. Both lovely bikes. The manual 6speed GW replaces the missing DCT rider involvement. I’ve had DCT Honda’s and they are great but that is the trade off. I know there are up & down paddles but flicking a button is not the same or as rewarding as coordinating a well timed gear change.
Great review my friends however you are comparing a light touring bike to a touring bike. The street glide and the Road glide have the heavier Harley Davidson touring frames, I would love to see your opinion on that comparison
Yes we did say that at the beginning. We couldn’t get the Street or Road Glide before the Honda went back in fortunately. But... the Honda is better in terms of refinement and engineering but plastic coated and the Harley has more character and soul
A lot of interesting points made. This would be worth revisiting head to head with a Street Glide Special, same price point and function, Touring. Also perhaps the fully optioned Gold Wing with the Tour Pac versus the CVO Ultra or even a regular Ultra. (Thumbs up)
No argument the Harley is the better short to medium journey bike. The Honda is a very underrated bike in terms of its sporty handling with that engine and shaft drive. I've had horses, emus run out in front of me on country trips in Australia so a noisy but not too loud Harley has an inbuilt safety factor. The Heritage should come with twin disc brakes - it's a big, heavy bike that needs the extra braking power. If you like something smooth and fuss free, highly competent go for the Honda. If you prefer something more raw around the edges with loads of old world charm and character, go for the Harley, especially if you do a lot of around town riding. That big fairing on the Honda blocks lower half vision in traffic.
Trucker-D Everyone is entitled to an opinion in a democracy. I have ridden one of the early models without a fairing but I've owned a Suzuki GS1000 with a full fairing. Also spoken to Police riders with BMW'S with full fairing models. They always said the lower half of the fairing impeded their view in traffic. One person I knew in the 90s had a Goldwing he'd fitted a side-car to. I would only get a Goldwing for long distance riding, not around town.
I own both of these bikes, but the Goldwing is a six speed tour model. Comfort is subjective and I have needed to spend many thousands of dollars to make the Goldwing comfortable for me. The stock seat is horrible and the bar position is not in the least adjustable. The Harley seat is a bit more comfortable for me but not for my pillion. Most disappointing with the Honda is that it is hardly trouble free. I’ve had a number of electrical issues. Switches and servo motors have failed, some with very inconvenient consequences. The Goldwing is a very complex machine and if you do your own work it can be very difficult. An air filter change can take up to six hours to complete and installing accessories can also be difficult. The Harley is much easier to work on. That being said, the Honda does things magnificently, the suspension, handling, brakes and smoothness blows the Harley away. It’s a phenomenal bike when everything works, but it doesn’t always. In the States it’s easy to find a Harley dealer if your on a trip. Not so with Honda. I do disagree with one of your statements, all Harley’s are not the same. The touring bikes have a different frame and suspension so comparing it to a Road Glide would be a better comparison. The comparison between those bikes would show them similar in weather protection whereas the Softail can’t compete with the Goldwing. My take on it is this, if I’m going alone I’ll take the Harley. If I’m taking a pillion it’s definitely the Goldwing. I also own a T120 Bonneville, which is far more fun to ride than either the Harley or the Honda. Guess which one spends the least time in the shop? Surprisingly it’s the Harley.
You must have gotten a lemon because there are hundreds of thousands of gold wings out there that have gone hundreds of thousands of miles with no problems not to mention pan Europeans that will do two or 300,000 miles with very little maintenance. Maybe you can get to everything on a Harley but you’re gonna be getting to it a lot and you also will be wiping up a lot of oil.
@@DrRyman go on any online Goldwing forum and you will see that I am not alone when it comes to problems. The hill start assist failed, the servo motor that ultimately allows you to open the fuel door failed, the reverse gear wouldn’t engage and finally the electric windshield mechanism failed. There are many other failures experienced by other owners, not to mention the second rate infotainment system and the radio reception that is dismal. This is an expensive motorcycle and all of these failures are due to cheap electronic devices. If Honda is going to provide the high tech systems they should simply work.
Great comparative review and as you pointed out, not really like for like as these are such different bikes and given the choice of just these two I think it would be easy for most people to make a choice as they would already be inclined one way or the other. For me, it would be the Harley every day. The Wing is too much like a modern car, too many on-board computers, switches & gizmos. and although very capable, also I think feel quite isolated to ride compared to the seat of the pants feel of the Harley with it's simpler controls. One thing you didn't mention which is quite important for a tourer is the range between fill ups (unless I missed it). The Harley tank looks quite small (narrow) and I would have thought they would go with something much wider with greater capacity given it's touring role.
Trucker-D...I have, it’s a world class motorcycle...just not for everyone, like the Harley isn’t for everyone either. Ride safe...and have yourself a good one✌️😎
One other note to Honda owners. You can make the tour pack removable. It takes 15 min to take off and on with the Traxxion kit. I run my Honda without pack at home and then trips put it on.
Good review fellas. At the end of the day, I've got to say 'Harley Smarley' so Wing-Me-Up. But you're right, two full-system pipes on that GW would transfer that bike into a symphony of in-line six orchestration.
The Harley won't sound like that out of the box and it is a pity we don't get to hear the stock pipes, which will be (thankfully) more muted. The other issue is of course, that the Harley will fall to bits and the Honda won't.
steve taylor Nearly all Harleys have their pipes swapped out for something louder. My Harley is 2 years old and just as shiny as it was the day I bought it and nothings fallen off or broken
Imho Ideally you want one of each but most people can only afford one machine. So a lot of machines unless just weekend warriors are compromises between cost looks and requirements.
My Dad has had Gold Wings since 1979. He loves them, so I rode one of his a while back. I wouldn't have one. The motorway is the only place it made sense. Everywhere else it was a real bus To each his own though, it's the great thing about choice, something for everyone.
I recently sold my 2019 Road King 107 and went on the hunt for a lighter replacement. I chose a 2021 Heritage Classic 107. It gives me everything I had with the RK in a 100+ lbs lighter package. Great bike for those long highway hauls, or more relaxed back road cruising. For me the Heritage was the spot on replacement for the RK as a good all rounder. When I feel the need to do some corner carving out comes my 1994 BMW R1100RS. Both bikes make me smile, but for completely different reasons. And as the saying goes, it's not what you ride, it's that you ride.
Perhaps Road King would be better for this comparison as it's build on touring chassis. Where heritage is build on softail chassis. Prices are similar. And definitely I will go for harley. Obviously if you want super confort Ultra Glide Limited.
Ideally yes but we couldn’t get anything else in the 4 days we had the Honda, but the spirit is the same. We are reviewing the Ultra in a few weeks so that’s one to look forward to 👍🏼
Goldwing for me. More stuff on it and & it has a much better dash & the headlights are great. The clock on the petrol tank on the harley doesnt do it for me. I Like them both though....if I was rich I'd have both 🏍🏍
Very nice video, your very nice I see you don’t want to hurt no one’s feelings however, that Honda Goldwing will roll from Oregon to Miami with no issues at 95 mph none STOP and I don't have to stop to let my bike cool down at every Harley store to act like I'm buying a t-shirt
I have a Harley Heritage and a Honda Goldwing. I can ride either one from Oregon to Miami with no issues. The Honda is a better choice for comfort on the long haul. The Harley sounds better and gets better fuel mileage. I've never had an issue with the Harley overheating. I actually think a better comparison would have been a Road Glide which is on the touring chassis instead of the Heritage on the Softail chassis. Both are good bikes, but these two are more like comparing a spoon to a fork.
Just got back from a 2700 mile ride on a road king. Parts of the ride were at 100°. No problem with overheating. However if you are not moving your right leg can get a little hot from the engine
My new Harley is in the shop for 8 days second time for the same problem in 3,000 miles we drive Toyotas cars and pickups that never go in the shop other than service ... we are looking at the wing once ours gets out of the shop...
I currently have a 2019 Heritage and quite honestly of all 5 bikes I've ever owned so far (last bike was a 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra, before that a 2002 Goldwing) this is the only one I just flat out do not like riding. Plenty of power and torque but the handling is just not there. And that comes from someone who is not a very aggressive rider. But 3 times in the mountains I had several bad "hiccups"....So this weekend I pick up my 2021 Goldwing standard that I'm having them add the tour pack to. I just love the grey paint.

@@Timeline916 Let's face it, man. With as many guys as there are on this comment thread voicing the same view, I think they got you played. The Honda is for men who want to ride, and the Harley is for guys who want to spend a ton of dough to pose.

Awesome bro! Yes the Goldwing really is a fantastic bike - if only it had a more retro/classic look
Thanks buddy! Both great bikes for different reasons
How has the Goldwing turned out? I am probably going to follow suit
A very well thought out comparison, thank you. I've owned both and have loved both for what they are.
Kevin Hahn thanks very much! 👍🏼
HD for me, the reason for my choice is that HD shows Personality gives better access to most all Riding Clubs \ MC's \ 1% \ HOG much more fun in general
Yes you’re right 👊🏼💯
The brain says Honda Goldwing...
The heart says Harley Davidson...
Both are fair
Yes that’s a good summary 👍🏼👍🏼
I used to have a 2016 streetglide cvo. Just bought the 2024 wing. I feel as excited for the Goldwing as I did for the cvo.
I just bought a gold wing . Will get it in June from Japan, nice show by the way. Also I’m in Taiwan
Awesome! Great to hear buddy
I'd stick with the Heritage, I even bought a Heritage Classic 114 because of your channel lol!
Ahh great thanks buddy
When you say riding the Harley is more involved, that's the bike for me. At least at this stage in my life, the engagement with the machine is one of the aspects of motorcycling I enjoy most.
👍🏼💯
i’m a harley guy but i gotta go for honda for the durability and technology.handsdown, honda is easily superior than harley in quality and durability.not saying that harley aren’t durable and dosent have good quality.having owned a sportster, roadking and currently having harley heritage,i gotta say honda is better atleast personally.good video as always dude, keep it up.
Good points bro. And thank you
The Honda is the better bike but not the one I would want to own.
My touring choice would be the Harley Road King. Nice review, can almost smell the countryside 🐄
Thanks Splodge. Good point!
Thanks buddy. Great to hear your story. 👍🏼👍🏼
Excellent comparison. Thanks a lot. HD is art+function. Honda is technology. I prefer the HD approach for a ride. This Honda is basically a car.
Maxi ALBERTO Thanks buddy! Thats a valuable contribution 👍🏼
Spot on
Hahaha
Maxi ALBERTO that’s getting old, really a car, you mean low ownership cost, put several hundred thousand miles on?
With Harley you’re “buying a lifestyle”.
The biggest crime of 2020 so far is why on earth did I never find this channel before. Watching from Alberta Canada, originally from Yorkshire and ride a Triumph Trophy SE. looks like a great channel going to be flying thru these videos for the next month of winter!!!
Glad you found us now! Welcome aboard 👍🏼👍🏼
I own a Goldwing DCT 2021 and considering a Harley as a second motor because of the differences. But i like the push from the Newton Meters of both motors. I do not know yet which HD to buy. But damn the Goldwing is the best motor i ever had.
Check out our other reviews! We’ve reviewed a lot of Harleys! Maybe something there that suits you 👍🏼
I got 1 of each and love them both for different reasons
O4 wide glide twin cam 88 which I've customized extensively to suite me and a 22 goldwing bagger for longer trips. Both serve different purposes and both are amazing bikes in different ways
Awesome! 👍🏼👍🏼
Nicely summed up 💯👍🏼
That’s exactly what I tell folks and it’s the reason I own both
If only you could convince the Harley cultist of this.
Yes sometimes it's nice not to bee too loud. Half way suits us!
I’d take the Honda because of the reverse. I like the Harley better in all other ways though. I had a 2020 Road King but had to give it up when my knee imploded (not the bike’s fault). Very good video.
Ok got you. Ahh that’s a shame 👍🏼👍🏼
Great story! Thanks bro
I have the Honda and instead of moving to An HD touring, I bought an older Night Train. The HD “soul” is real but the engine and precision of the Honda on long rides or 2 up is effortless.
Yes absolutely 👍🏼
I like both bikes butThe HD heritage is more my style because I ride solo and don't ride long distance very much and I like being able to remove the wind screen.
I'm sure the golding would be best for long hiway trips.
Yes with you there 👍🏼👍🏼
Ride them 500 miles in the rain..Honda hands down..My Harley collects dust since I bought 2018 DCT Goldwing...
Yes I can say that the Honda would be better in the rain 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for your comments bro! We completely understand your points. The Honda is a tremendous bike, maybe not the cool looker, but fabulous to ride!
Road Glide Special would be a much closer comparison. Fixed fairing, 6 gallon tank, hard bags, Android Auto/Car Play infotainment system, etc.
Yes if we could have got one before the Honda went back but the DNA is essentially the same 👍🏼
I own a 2020 Street Glide Special and if I had to do it all over again I would have bought the Gold Wing.
I ride about 50,000 miles a year so the clunky transmission on the HD gets on my nerves.
Bart Lawhorn yes that’s a good point. 👍🏼
That Honda without question. Its above and beyond on every level and that's what I like to spend my money on.
Yes it’s very good indeed! 👍🏼
A better comparison would have been the Road King, Road Glide, or Street Glide. The Heritage is a soft tail.
Yes it would have been, we couldn’t get both bikes at the same time. As we own the heritage classic we decided to use this instead.
Yes, both. The Harley for lazy warm sunny days and the Goldwing for every other day with some kind of weather. I feel a better comparison is the Indian Challenger and the Goldwing.
Good points bro 👍🏼
I'd love both. Love the sound of the Harley, and the look. I don't care if people think I'm "showing off" on a harley. There is something about the sound and feel of a Harley that makes you feel awesome! On the other hand Honda is known for reliability, and the goldwing is king of comfort.
Yes they are both superb in different ways 💯
The plastic on the Harley RoadGlide is thick and not flimsy. The plastic on the Honda is thin and lacks rigidity. The Honda is smooth as butter where the Harley is a bit chattery. If I were younger, I’d choose the Harley. At 60+ I choose the GoldWing.
Byron Ruhter Thanks for your interesting comparison. 💯👍🏼
With bikes that size and weight, for the sort of roads I ride, hilly, narrow country roads, roads too narrow for cars to pass without passing places, the one with reverse works for me.
Yes absolutely! I’ve had some difficult moments trying to manoeuvre in such situations. That’s why I’m looking at getting a Triumph Bonneville or such like now
Love both had 2 harleys and now have a xv1900 midnight star and honda ctx 1300 and gives me best of both worlds.. Fun video boys 👍
Thanks Gary and excellent!
Yes good point! 👍🏼💯
I haven't purchased one yet but the Goldwing would be my choice.
The Goldwing is a top notch motorcycle for sure!
A lot of interesting points made. This would be worth revisiting head to head with a Street Glide Special, same price point and function, Touring. Also perhaps the fully optioned Gold Wing with the Tour Pac versus the CVO Ultra or even a regular Ultra. (Thumbs up)
Yes maybe we’ll get the opportunity this year 👍🏼
No argument the Harley is the better short to medium journey bike.
That’s a brilliant summary Andrew. 100% agree
Andrew Hoffman absolutely wrong, ever ride a goldwing??
Trucker-D Everyone is entitled to an opinion in a democracy. I have ridden one of the early models without a fairing but I've owned a Suzuki GS1000 with a full fairing. Also spoken to Police riders with BMW'S with full fairing models. They always said the lower half of the fairing impeded their view in traffic. One person I knew in the 90s had a Goldwing he'd fitted a side-car to. I would only get a Goldwing for long distance riding, not around town.
Andrew Hoffman Andrew you’re spot on bro
HONDA IS NUMBER 1 BIKE MANUFACTURER BRAND. ❤️❤️❤️
We’re reviewing the Honda CB1000R next week! Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss that 👍🏼
I own both of these bikes, but the Goldwing is a six speed tour model.
Interesting comments bro! Thanks 💯
Agreed. This guy knows. You can’t even remove the plastic covers without having to watch a video first. Honda is complicated for sure.
I have a 2019 Goldwing and a 2009 Heritage and love them both. which bike I ride depends on my mood that day
44 years of riding......I have a 2018 Goldwind .....Nothing rides or looks better!
Thanks Alan. The Heritage has an 18.9L tank and the Gold Wing a 21.1, so quite similar.
to be honest, when you arrive at your destination in the harley, most people that live there are gonna be annoyed
Why I love hearing Harleys everywhere 👍
Both are beautiful motorcycles...though one feels and sounds like a Honda Automobile, the other sounds and feels like a motorcycle should🏍💨🔥✌️😎
Great point Pete 👍🏼💯
BreakoutPete ever ride a wing? Better not, unless you like to eat crow.
Trucker-D...I have, it’s a world class motorcycle...just not for everyone, like the Harley isn’t for everyone either.
Ride safe...and have yourself a good one✌️😎
‘’Wing for distance, HD for show. Which tool is for you ?
@@GodzillaGoesGaga HD for us 👍🏼
I love them both. I hate the obnoxious noise from the Harley. I wish the GW could be more custom. I don’t have anything to prove so I’m going GW!
Fair enough bro 👍🏼👍🏼
You are spot on. I'm a regular man, and not someone trying to turn themself into "The Marlboro Man" Nothing to prove ...exactly.
One other note to Honda owners. You can make the tour pack removable. It takes 15 min to take off and on with the Traxxion kit. I run my Honda without pack at home and then trips put it on.
I look forward to the day when I can ride a Harley Davidson Touring Motorbike.
Great! Something good to look forward to 👍🏼
Good review fellas. At the end of the day, I've got to say 'Harley Smarley' so Wing-Me-Up. But you're right, two full-system pipes on that GW would transfer that bike into a symphony of in-line six orchestration.
Thanks Simon. Yes we get your thinking there 👍🏼
Goldwing with full custom exhaust sounds like a f1 formula race car to me.
Cultured understated and moving with ease among the milieu as opposed to loud brash and less changes of underwear...
Haha that’s a good way of putting it!
The cow made a timely apology for the GW character, so well characterizing its soul IMO
Both beautiful bikes, but the 6 cylinder growl of the Honda does it for me, reminiscent of the cbx 1000 with the absolute Honda reliability.
Thanks. Yes it does sound nice 👌🏼
Great review guys 👍
For me the Harley wins as it looks and sounds awesome!
The Harley won't sound like that out of the box and it is a pity we don't get to hear the stock pipes, which will be (thankfully) more muted. The other issue is of course, that the Harley will fall to bits and the Honda won't.
Thanks buddy! 1 point for the Harley Davidson 👍🏼
steve taylor Nearly all Harleys have their pipes swapped out for something louder. My Harley is 2 years old and just as shiny as it was the day I bought it and nothings fallen off or broken
Imho Ideally you want one of each but most people can only afford one machine.
So a lot of machines unless just weekend warriors are compromises between cost looks and requirements.
Lee B yes that’s true
My Dad has had Gold Wings since 1979. He loves them, so I rode one of his a while back. I wouldn't have one. The motorway is the only place it made sense. Everywhere else it was a real bus To each his own though, it's the great thing about choice, something for everyone.
Yes we get you. They are brilliant but the Harley touches your soul
Well said and very good points!
It depends on the day. Both please!
Love the sound quality of this video
I Like them both though....if I was rich I'd have both 🏍🏍
Allan Mcwilliam 👍👍
What’s the problem with the Harley?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan well he have to find out more about Harley problems at the internet and he get back to you 😂
This time 9 days in the shop I don't even call to see what's going on ... oil light comes on about about 70% of the time ... all electrical issues ...
weston elliot OK electrical problems are always annoying and seemingly hard to trace/fix; on anything
That Harley sound makes your soul happy
Yes 100%
Apples and oranges what a difference I am a sort of Harley man but I know the reliability of Honda they're hard to beat
Thank you
Goldwing without any doubt or an Indian as the Challenger or Darkhorse RoadMaster
Indian dealers are hard to find. Don’t have a problem on the road or you might be out of luck.
OK really! The Honda Goldwing is superb though, so great choice
When you said...Honda is the one to use to get there...when there then use the Harley...
Very well done, glad I don't have to make the decision because both not my cup of tea! Rather like choosing between a Morgan and the latest Porsche!
What is your ideal motorcycle?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Last stunner was BMW R1200C but it had to go and finance house building, latest wheels is Yamaha XMax 400, purely because old injuries inhibit pegs but so what, it is truly a sensational piece of engineering! Trouble is, its big brother the TMax is calling and the thought of the big twin in an aluminium bike frame means even more fun to be had! Thanks for asking and keep up the good work from I suspect, somewhere in gorgeous rural Northamptonshire?
h bethune no problem my friend! Yes we’re Leicestershire close to Northamptonshire
Harley Davidson for me.... Love them
Scottys Adventures Thanks Scotty 👍🏼
100% agree
len campey 👍🏼
Great review guys.you work well together. The harley has the feel good factor.but i love the wing as well
Yes they are both fantastic in different ways 👍🏼
The 2022 Goldwing non Tour is Matt Jeans Blue. How great is that? Have amended my order and can’t wait 😎
Yes awesome 👍🏼
Goldwing....it's not even a question
👍🏼👍🏼
Nice job guys very low key yet informative.
Jim Byrne Thanks Jim 👍🏼
the harley sounds like 2 gas lawnmower next to each other. lots of noise, no go. honda for the win.
Lol
The Honda will go 100,000 miles easily and trouble-free. The Harley is overpriced, outdated junk for overgrown children who wish to look badass but do not in reality.
Both awesome bikes in different ways.
More anger issues, therapy ?
@@Timeline916 Let's face it, man. With as many guys as there are on this comment thread voicing the same view, I think they got you played. The Honda is for men who want to ride, and the Harley is for guys who want to spend a ton of dough to pose.
