All this time, I thought you HAD to have a joystick at the minimum for it to even let you join a sim game. I definitely like the immersive look of sim battles. I think it'll make me appreciate the planes I have. Thanks for the guide!

@@mattcorra0035 I believe so and not all of them have it, I think the wiki for WT has a list of planes that do
I personally use vr, so I don’t have to worry about the vertical view quite as much, but I use mb4/5 for throttle, and it’s incredible

thankyou i thought i was doomed in Sim but now I don't think so
I combo my aa ag weapons by using mouse buttons. So if i wanna spool an Aim9 i hold mouse button 3 and use right mouse, to fire its mouse button 3 and left click.
Also my radar control are mapped to mouse 3. So if i wanna lock my radar its mouse and wheel click.
AGM is mouse 4 and right to lock, mouse 4 and left to fire.
Both mouse 3 and 4 to fire rockets.
Essentially those 2 buttons are this or that inputs. To do that those buttons alone cant control anything.
I also mapped free look to wheel button so i can easy look around.
For a complete noob this is ok, but your controls could for sure be improved. Flaps are really important, pitch is also really important and should be easily accessible (a.k.a. set it for W and S) . Flaps could also be Mouse Wheel
Im interested in trying to just get smoother cobtrol over my aircraft, 1v1 in A Viggen is hard when you use standard mouse aim. I want to be able to better manage my energy.
Perhaps I'll do a video in the future on it

just a question....steam has DLCs that has crossed a thousand bucks which r mainly the jets, tanks and helis...do these really have to be bought to be played unlike the piston engine WWI and WW2 planes and the navy?

This may be 2yo but for some reason, i can't control my plane with my mouse, i can only control it via the keyboard. Is there some setting that i have to change?(Yes, i am in full-real controls)
Tbh i only use rutter when taking off and landing. I actually enjoyed playing sim on controller but it took forever fine tuning the sensitivity.
Need to get some real sticks.
I use keys to control the aircraft. My mouse dose roll and pitch but i dont use it.

So how do you steer the plane on the ground? I’m not in high tier yet so some of the low tier planes will turn harshly to one side when taking off
Luckily jets don't have that problem. They're pretty smooth

How do you invert the pitch axis for the mouse. Pushing up on the mouse to go down and vice versa is ver my weird to me
@@adikamussington7558 did you manage to find out? trying to find this myself - seems he has Invert-axis (aircraft) turned off but still is using invert just on pitch
@@culleton8849 It’s in the mouse aim section I think. There’s an option that says simplified. Switch that to standard then the mouse should invert
Start with low Throttle and use your rudder to counter it. Then when you picked up a bit of speed (~~125) go full throttle and keep correcting
Whenever I try to do a full loop with my plane, it automatically does a 180 degree roll when my nose is pointing up. I looked at my ailerons, and I noticed they were deploying while I wasn’t touching them. I checked my virtual instructor, and it’s turned off. Help…
Try binding your pitch to one of your keys too. Because once you go up with the mouse you could force it to do the loop with any key. I use shift.

Use SAS, that could help a lot
Practice, don't pull all the way. Some planes flatspin more than others. Careful when you are diving, don't pull too hard and don't use the rudder to much. It's best to use A-D to roll then pull up

@@bryan-if2ls you are on simplified controls, if you set it to "standard" under the mouse joystick controls (which can be found in "full real controls") you will be able to do that stuff. controlling your plane will become more difficult tho
so the mouse joystick isnt registering my elevator, like the up and down in the square, only the ailerons, why?
I'm not sure, you could try making a new control setup

yeeeaaah what i like to hear! no BS just a mouse and keyboard....
i use simple mouse and keyboard, but there is so many settings that are not being used that i want to know what they are...and some setting that are being used that I'm not real sure about. LIke all the sensitvities and some settings might need to be changed...hell if I know?!

Too many vids that just doesn't get to the point of Simple Mouse and Keyboard control settings..they end up all over the place and the mouse and keyboard thing never really gets explained haha
Dont get me wrong, I can throw down in an airplane...just wonder what im missng by using the same settings over and over. It aint broke..and not trying to fix it, just maybe make it better if possible.
I was on PS4pro for the longest and tried and tried to fly witht the controller, but could not get the setting right...and i tried. The aiming rectile was all over the place with the PS4.... I finally went ovet to the PC...and i'm deadly with the mouse and keyboard...check my YT page got a few good battles.....
anyway, i'm off to watch yoru video and hopefully learn a few things. :)
Tbh using mouse and keyboard takes mad skill. I respect that. Also with the full-real controls, I suggest using what you're comfortable with. I'm pretty sure SIM uses full-real tho.
@@AeroTurtle i used the settings in the video, but i could not fly my plane with the Full Real controls....The plane was Super LOOSE. I had something wrong somewhere...
I just switched back to Mouse and Keyboard/simple with Mouse Aim and instantly was back in control..
went on to down over 20 Bombers in my SU-11 and took 1st place....turned out to be one helluva battle.
Gonna edit the replay in a minute and upload it to my youtube page...need to check it out later on.
You are right about using the settings thats familiar. I'll figure out wgat I missed with the Full Real...
Settings cooperate with other settings to make everything work right. I was in the middle of that battle or I would have looked further.
Um is wasd good controlls for roll pitch because i fell like the screen joy is not for me

I noticed at times you kind of rant and don't explain one thing or another at the time, but you get to it eventually, some of the key binds you go over are a bit useless to me, never used the look buttons besides look back, but that is more of a preference anyways, like the throttle linked to mouse wheel, it sucks and I hate it, but that's my preference xD Good video regardless
How do I use the m wheel as throttle
It should be the axis assign.
How to do a loop?
Bind pitch to a key, and use that to push you through the loop
I just use my aswdqe keys for flying and my mouse for head and shooting XD.
If it works it works
It's quite irritating that there's settings here that I don't have
