Stage 17 is easier with shell shield, reflect, slow, a ribbon, the power armlet, and/or berserk. Knots of rust can deal random damage and be spammed, balance motes deal a lot of damage when they swap MP and HP of the characters. I believe there's an accessory to stop immobilize and disable as well. Mist chaining can also one shot them If you're skilled at it. If you're resourceful you can beat stage 17 somewhat easily around the sandsea plot line.
hey there, i currently have upto stage 50 recorded (21 - 50 will be uploaded tomorrow at about 3pm GMT) and while there going up i plan on recording 51 - 80 not tried to go higher than 81 atm so i arnt sure if i can clear 81 - 90 but will have to see.
I honestly love how he assumes the uses of making it these places early it is technically possible to reach stage 100 before you even reach balthier and fran

Make sure you load the auto save labelled the level you got to. If you reload the original save that you started your trial run on then all the stuff in the trial will be lost. Always find the autosave from the trial and load it as your normal game load.

Mind Flayers "Need to kill them quickly." Well unless you have some kind of nuke, they can revive each other with full hp and mp so if you don't kill all three at the same time, I see no way of getting through them. Since I did kill one, then killed the second, only one left, bam last guy raised both his fellow dead mind flayers.
How does trial mode work exactly like for exsampel you steal something on a stage and the next stage you die do you just spawn in the story mode again and you have the item or How does it work? :)
you dont have to reach the end of each section. You can just get the item you want and clear the floor you got it on, for example if you get an item on stage 15, all you need to do is get to stage 16 and then die/pause and press square to go back to the main menu and load your auto save to go back into story mode.
if you dont get the correct steal just pause the game, press square to back to the main menu, click trial mode again and then load up your auto save and you can try to steal again. i have a few videos showcasing the method on my channel, if your curious just click the playlist link in the description.

I recently restarted over as I didn't like my original jobs set up for Vaan Uhlan to Knight and Balthier Monk to Forebreaker (because I got a Slasher axe early). I also switch Penalo from White Mage to Black Mage. Fran is a Archer as I am happy with that choice already equipped with Burning Bow and fire Arrows My problem is that the Flan in Stage 12 wipe me out easily with only Fran dealing damage. I have only just got past escaping into the Delmasca waterway system early in story mode. Level 26-27. Do I need to wait a little longer before hitting higher Trail mode stages? As I loving the challenge but always hit into trouble on that stage.
if you have a knight then steal the karkata from trial mode stage 3. Other than that you can wait untill after the tomb of raithwall where you will have access to your second job.

As Vaan will be sat on bench once Ashe has joined and will only be used when I need to steal and set Trail mode stages/Hunts/Side Bosses. My core party will Fran, Penalo and Ashe. With Balthier and Basch as been called up on when need.
Hey quick question, I've kind of messed up and don't want to restart my save So I've got Vaan- shikari/breaker Basch- knight/bushi Penalo- white Mage/hunter Balthier - uhlan/time mage Ashe - black Mage/monk And this is the problem I've got fran on machinist and I don't know what to pair her with. Some people are saying white mage but I'm not too sure what's the way to go, any help would be appreciated
whats the first class you chose for her? but by the rest of your party Archer/Red mage would be the best for fran. you dont need a 2nd white mage since your penalo is already a WHM
So your biggest bonuses from the Machinist are going to be the 3 swiftness panels, some decent HP gains, and if you esper with famfrit Vanishga, Warp, Slowga, Reflectga, Graviga, Hastega. Since Archer is kinda a bad match up with mach I would go with another redmage. Redmage has fairly low HP, only 1 swiftness unlock, and the added spells kinda turn him into a timemage with offensive spells. Your uhlan is mainly damage with a side of utility and this would be all spellcaster.
I think it is the best option you have for mach. I have mine matched with Uhlan, but that is really only to give uhlan all 3 swiftness panels and access to hastega. you could do that but it would be a less flexible version of what you already have. with the uhlan/timemage. The mach/redmage just gives you another source of hastega without filling the same role as the uhlan/timemage. and way more flexibilty in party comp

On stage 12 you do not need to kill 5 slimes. You can kill the slimes & leave 1 slime alive & the rare slime will come.

You just get the item you want, get to the next stage. Pause and square back to the main menu or die and just load your auto save normally

Yeah shell shields are overrated. 5-0 evade/magick evade and shell takes 2 seconds and little mp to cast.

you can save the progress into your story mode after every boss stage ( 10,20,30 etc )
you dont have to reach the end of each section.
