Help! anyone here experience when LED just turn off suddenly? everything is working as it is but after around 20-30 mins it it turn off but in the ambibox settings, it is connected and backlit is checked. My troubleshoot is always to close the program and unplug/plug the usb to my pc then opening ambibox. After than everything is back to normal. I think it goes to sleep. I cant find any settings about the lights going to sleep.
Only the first led lights up . I can turn it on and off with the app and I have also set the zones to 240 (I have 4meters with 2A and 3A charger). Both chargers light up but only the 1st led of the stip lights up.
hey fella, if you check device manager, if it says that the driver cant be updated etc , search CH340 drivers and install the windows driver, scan for hardware changes and restart the ambibox :)
@CallMeSalty actually I figured out that my power supply (they sent it to me -.-) is not handling the leds, I tested with another and worked. check your also!
@CallMeSalty I had considerable difficulty setting this up - first, are the lights coming on at all? When you first connect them with USB do they flash red/green/blue very quickly? If you unplug and reconnect the USB connection does the flashing happen every time? This would seem to suggest that the lights are working (in that they are getting power).

I installed the driver, checked which COM port was listed as USB-SERIAL CH340 under device manager and everything worked perfectly. I hope you get the same results.

Hello it works for me with VLC, windows media player and aimp. I have selected default audio device in the ambibox software. It happened a couple of times it didn't work, I just switched into another mode and selected music again and it worked
Mine worked perfect for almost a year and then suddenly stopped, no lights even Adalight is connected (status in app). Tried almost everything to change without success.

Hi is it probably conflicting with another lighting software ? Did you try to close the other apps and try again? If you have possibilities did you try with a newly formatted PC ?
As you see in the video my monitor is a 16:9 ratio one. Anyway in some Netflix movies I got letter box bars, nevertheless the illumination works just fine in those cases too ;)
In the latest version of windows 10, the program starts, shows how many fps but does not control leds, port installed from 1 post, driver visible, can you check if the program is still working? Before updating the system, everything was working

Thank you! Sorry never happened to me, are you sure they are properly powered and that you are not using a usb hub. I would suggest you to plug the box into one of the main usb ports of your motherboard
Bought some WLED LED's to use this. The most frustrating CRAP I've ever tried to use in my life. The download from AMBIBOX is missing damn files. When running the exe to set it up, it's giving 404 errors, files not found!
Hi this has been explained tons of times already. As you can also read from my video description and also in the pinned comment, you have to unselect playclaw or the installation will fail
Yeah I see some people having issues but everything was extremely smooth for me. It's working with anything I tried, any games movies or app. I have another video in my channel (ambibox review) where you can see also see how it looks like with some games and video footage.

Feel like I've just loaded junk on my PC that I need to get rid of now. All this garbage software is the reason that HUE PLAY lights are expensive, but you plug them in and they just work. This software has now even broken my other USB connections, steering wheel, pedals, shifter, button boxes...

Thanks for the video, I hope you can help with a problem with my setup! I have installed the lights, connected everything but the LEDs are not turning on. AmbBiox shows Adalight device 'connected' on COM1, if I choose any other port it disconnects. The LEDs all flash briefly when I connect them to the USB port on the PC, but then do not turn on at all again, I have cycled the 'use backlight' toggle but they don't come on. I have tried the troubleshooting one light at a time. Any tips? Thanks!
@@fgtechtips Yes, It's plugged directly into the PC - I've tried different ports as well although the USB cable I got is much shorter than the one in your video!
@@fgtechtips No - they all flash on red/green/blue very quickly when they are first plugged into the USB socket, so that indicates that the LEDS seem to be ok. After that they don't come on no matter what test I try!
So it doesn't seem to be related to the faulty LEDs maybe a faulty box? Try to see if it works with another pc or laptop, that could then explain a driver issue
Any idea how to get playclaw to work? I want to use the backlight for games, it worked for me in the past and now it won’t download I get the error as you say.
Yes it doesn't work for me, the installation won't go on unless you unselect playclaw. Unfortunately the software is quite old and not updated since long time
Hi finally my ambibox arribed and i intalled but now i have some problems. when i go to the configurations in the program dont have any COM have assigned the ambibox. i go to devide administrator and i dont see COM LPT ports. Well i find some videos how to enable this option and now my windows show it. But the problem still there . When i plug the usb of ambibox my windows says new device detected and its readi to use but when i check the COM chanels windows dont assing anyone. I try aevery thing i update windos i intall usb serial drivers but still not working. The onli think work is emulate COM and the program says device conectet but dont work because its an emulation COM so probably its like fake port. in the ambibox webside dont say you need some specific driver so i dont know what to do . Any idea? Thanks

@menent did you try to use the main usb ports? They should have more power than the others. Also are your motherboards and usb drivers updated ? The software recognized automatically everything for me. Device Adalight must be selected

Ciao personalmente non ho mai riscontrato alcun problema e anche senza installare drivers ha funzionato immediatamente quindi non mi sono mai informato su questo problema che riportate. Quello che posso consigliare è quello di usare una porta USB primaria della scheda madre e verificare che il box sia correttamente alimentato. Poi se hai seguito il mio video della configurazione alla lettera, ipotizzo possa essere un problema hardware ma non posso dirlo al 100%

Might be the setup file you downloaded is corrupted try to redownload it from a mirror site or with another browser, I think to remember it hallenede to me as well
Hi yes you can install the app anytime, but the lighting won't work anymore. I explain about the cpu usage in the video , there is one particular setting that highly affects it

This is for pc only as the box goes via usb and its managed via software . The TV wouldn't know how to manage the lights . You could buy the Philips hue box for 250$ + play bars 150$ and you will have something similar with a TV without a pc

Ciao, non so se hai notato ma il canale è in inglese da quando è nato, quando ho girato questo video c'era 1 solo video ed era incompleto, non so se ne hanno fatti altri dopo il mio. Nel canale tutti i video sono quindi in lingua inglese tranne i video relativi a pizze che sono in italiano (playlist pizza time), per tutto il resto è in lingua inglese ma dovrebbero esserci descrizioni titoli e sottotitoli anche in italiano (visto che RUclips non prevede la doppia lingua parlata questa è l'unica opzione oppure ogni video dovrebbe essere clonato e doppiato in 2 lingue)
Si sono italiano. Scusa ma noto che non avevo attivato la lingua Italiana, ora se ricarichi il video troverai titolo e descrizione in italiano e potrai anche attivare i sottotitoli italiano. Sicuramente sarà d'aiuto spero ;)
I have installed the drivers and still cannot get the lights to work :( When I click use backlight, I can see the light box flashing red but the led itself does not light up.
@@fgtechtips I have done, no success. When I had the original light strip I and hooked it up, it blinked on and went off and never came back on. When I got the replacement, it did the exact same thing, so I think the lights are just dying instantly on me, so I've given up and will likely go for a normal light strip, unfortunately
Might be an hardware issue with the box maybe, not the strips or maybe you can try on another device/pc/notebook. Have a look also at this other product I reviewed, I hear no issues by anyone on that ruclips.net/video/_4sW8Lxekfs/видео.html

Hello, with the ambibox on I notice less fluidity in the movies and series and in some it has mini stops, as if it were stuttering, if I turn it off I do not have those stutters In the game I have also noticed a drop in fps and it does not get to use whole graphics and if I remove the program it returns to normal, is this normal? i have a ryzen 3600 and a gtx 1660 super
Hi as I explain in the video this software is CPU intensive so if you don't have a powerful computer you might notice some performance loss. You could try lowering down the fps ( less color transition smoothness) as I explain in the video
Please help. Windows says driver is not available when connecting the USB and I only have COM1 connected even tough i switch between USB ports. I didnt find any drivers on the website.
Same here. My pc does not recognize the USB and the device manager says ''The drivers for this device are not installed code 28''. Also, the ambibox app status is not connected. Any suggestions?
@EVERYONE in 2023 if your getting Download failed: File not found (404) on install. playclaw drivers are no longer available so just skip and continue. they are not crucial and you can still play your games.

@@fgtechtips I took a leap of faith and mine arrived. On the instructions it says it works on windows, Mac OS, and raspberry pi. The software I need on Mac OS is prismatik. If you have a Mac can you do a tutorial on how to use prismatik
Perfect I didn't know that, it's cool! Prismatik anyway only has an older version compared to ambibox . I don't have a Mac sorry anyway the logic behind should be the same I bet the settings are very similiar
Same, only 38 LEDs are working properly out of 140, trying to get a refund. I feel like this 'big boom' of cheap ambilight is just a big campaign to sell them but they all suck. Screen capture takes a lot of resources from your PC (I have an i9 with a 3080 and still feel it) and a lot of them just come faulty.

Hi! I had reset my PC and I messed up because now the ambilight doesn't work in apps like Netflix or Disney and neither in the websites of these (before i did the reset it worked) so i don't know which could be the problem here.Need help :( Thank you anyway
Probably CPU power not enough? Try lower down the FPS there will be probably less delay even if less smooth. If I max the FPS it get really smooth but there is high CPU usage and a small delay
Thing is you need a software to drive the lights so unless there is an app on consoles, you can't use it unless you connect a laptop or PC. But I might be wrong and there is another possibility on consoles
I can only suggest what you read in the video description and pinned comment but ther appears to be many faulty kits. Mine is still totally fine anyway

My white on screen shows very blue on the LED's. Is it the case for you too, and if so did you find a way to make it look really white?

Is it possible to merge zones on a single led ? For example I have 120 leds and I would like to have 60 zones, is it possible ?

hi yes i mention it in this video there is a smoothness setting which affects the system resources, i lost about 3fps in games

Did you try to use the primary usb port of your motherboard ? This never happened to me sorry

Well Philips hue strip is 199€ this one is just 15-20€......it's more than bright for me but I don't have Philips hue for comparison

@menent did you try to use the main usb ports? They should have more power than the others. Also are your motherboards and usb drivers updated ? The software recognized automatically everything for me. Device Adalight must be selected

If you have the exact same model as mine, you need to select Adalight or it won't work. Might be you have a different box

Ciao personalmente non ho mai riscontrato alcun problema e anche senza installare drivers ha funzionato immediatamente quindi non mi sono mai informato su questo problema che riportate. Quello che posso consigliare è quello di usare una porta USB primaria della scheda madre e verificare che il box sia correttamente alimentato. Poi se hai seguito il mio video della configurazione alla lettera, ipotizzo possa essere un problema hardware ma non posso dirlo al 100%

This is for pc only as the box goes via usb and its managed via software . The TV wouldn't know how to manage the lights . You could buy the Philips hue box for 250$ + play bars 150$ and you will have something similar with a TV without a pc

Ciao, non so se hai notato ma il canale è in inglese da quando è nato, quando ho girato questo video c'era 1 solo video ed era incompleto, non so se ne hanno fatti altri dopo il mio. Nel canale tutti i video sono quindi in lingua inglese tranne i video relativi a pizze che sono in italiano (playlist pizza time), per tutto il resto è in lingua inglese ma dovrebbero esserci descrizioni titoli e sottotitoli anche in italiano (visto che RUclips non prevede la doppia lingua parlata questa è l'unica opzione oppure ogni video dovrebbe essere clonato e doppiato in 2 lingue)

No tv you need a pc otherwise how would the software run ? They work with tvs but only if connected to a pc, laptop or whatever

When I click use backlight, I can see the light box flashing red but the led itself does not light up.
Did you try selecting one by one all the com ports ?
@@fgtechtips I have done, no success. When I had the original light strip I and hooked it up, it blinked on and went off and never came back on. When I got the replacement, it did the exact same thing, so I think the lights are just dying instantly on me, so I've given up and will likely go for a normal light strip, unfortunately
Might be an hardware issue with the box maybe, not the strips or maybe you can try on another device/pc/notebook. Have a look also at this other product I reviewed, I hear no issues by anyone on that

Hello, with the ambibox on I notice less fluidity in the movies and series and in some it has mini stops, as if it were stuttering, if I turn it off I do not have those stutters In the game I have also noticed a drop in fps and it does not get to use whole graphics and if I remove the program it returns to normal, is this normal? i have a ryzen 3600 and a gtx 1660 super
Hi as I explain in the video this software is CPU intensive so if you don't have a powerful computer you might notice some performance loss. You could try lowering down the fps ( less color transition smoothness) as I explain in the video
Please help. Windows says driver is not available when connecting the USB and I only have COM1 connected even tough i switch between USB ports. I didnt find any drivers on the website.

@EVERYONE in 2023 if your getting Download failed: File not found (404) on install. playclaw drivers are no longer available so just skip and continue. they are not crucial and you can still play your games.

Perfect I didn't know that, it's cool! Prismatik anyway only has an older version compared to ambibox . I don't have a Mac sorry anyway the logic behind should be the same I bet the settings are very similiar

If it's connected to your pc when you turn it off this will turn off too. It anyway can be used with TV only as well

Why my ambilight dont work… only some LED was light…
Same, only 38 LEDs are working properly out of 140, trying to get a refund. I feel like this 'big boom' of cheap ambilight is just a big campaign to sell them but they all suck. Screen capture takes a lot of resources from your PC (I have an i9 with a 3080 and still feel it) and a lot of them just come faulty.

Even with 60 fps or Max it's not really smooth... I'm disappointed about that
Probably CPU power not enough? Try lower down the FPS there will be probably less delay even if less smooth. If I max the FPS it get really smooth but there is high CPU usage and a small delay

Thing is you need a software to drive the lights so unless there is an app on consoles, you can't use it unless you connect a laptop or PC. But I might be wrong and there is another possibility on consoles
