"Ego created by the source, associated with every individual has identified with each individual as an individual entity with the sense of personal doer-ship. Why has the source created the ego with the sense of personal doer-ship? Because without the ego which is identification with the personal sense of doer-ship inter-human relationships will not happen. And the inter-human relationships are the very basis of life. So for life to happen inter-human relationships have to happen. Inter-human relationships to happen ego has to be there. And all that the sage does is to find out from the deepest personal experience, the conviction, that the ego is not necessary for life to happen. That is all the sage comes to conclusion from experience. " 🙏

At 42mins in is my suffering! Having to hear such a disgusting blind ego at work throwing out self doership complements. Her ego is bragging and she's completely blinded by it,, yet all around her are the ones learning from that sick cell. The teacher talks to ego as the lesson is for the others! As that ego isn't ready. It cracked it's shell early and peeks outwardly with useless utterance.. It's beautiful isn't it! All get to witness but the ego driven Lady... Yes! That's the spotlight effect. It cries out and teacher addresses it directly, yet in directly. The tree of the teacher goes vertical and horizontal simultaneously..
Sri Ramesh is absolutely frank and forthright inspite of his enlightenment ; those who follow the path of Ashtanga Yoga will come to the same conclusion with one difference, that of getting super natural powers called ' Ashta Siddhi ' unasked for and used by such self realised Masters in very rare cases as I am a witness as well as a beneficiary on more than one occasion of such miracles performed by my spiritual master, a Paramahamsa in whose company I had spent several years and follow in his foot steps to this day ! I admire Sri Ramesh and totally agree with his views.
Isn't the ultimate is to know one is not the body? What Ramesh is saying about enlightenment is different from Ramana and Nisargadatta Maharaj.. Or am I missing something?
My understanding is that he is telling you directly what Nisargadatta and Maharshi told indirectly. The issue with saying it directly is the listener can be left with "doubt" but if the listener comes to the conclusion themselves they will have "knowledge". Also Ramana was a very special personality on top of being realized. He had a very keen sense of being the source of bliss I think. The personality expressions of "enlightened" beings is very wide. But this simple teaching is at the core of almost every teaching. People bring their concepts. I like this teaching because it doesn't leave a lot of room for concepts. Of course it isn't very special or exciting eh? That's probably why all the sages say they aren't anything special.
I would have asked him to talk about practical examples of how to let your true nature manifest itself and how not to get in the way of that. After all, one cannot just resign to one's cosmic fate and not do anything. In other words, why bother to do anything if everything is predestined and is happening according to some cosmic law?
Body Mind (including the further classifications - gross, subtle, casual) are the instruments for performing our karmas of birth into this existence. Strong body sense makes us feel 'we' are the doers. With 'enlightenment' one is given the vision of collective belonging where the individual sense loses it's Ego (Ishavasya) And the collective Consciouness is seen as the Doer. No enlightened person can say he or she is enlightened ( Kenopanishad). Your confusion is what every Seeker goes through. Move ahead. Listen and listen and listen (Sravanam) and clear every doubt that hinders your spiritual path.
Doesn't the whole justice system rely on morality and integrity ? If any action that arises is God's will, then what is the basis on which we have a justice system?
@@christoffersrensen1256 Then God does prefer one side in the duality......so I don't understand why people would say that there is no good or evil...just what happens.

Great Q & A by Ramesh Balsekar. But Why bring God into the equation? Why can't he grant God a "Persona Nongrata"?. or simply ignore God from the self-enquiry Q & A. And why do we need a God if we "as Brahman" are eternal beings who have created the Universe, time, space and everything else.

words are just words. Call it god, the absolute, one consciousness, turkey sandwich, or whatever you want. He likes the word god for this talk, probably because of the audience. Some peoples concept of God implies duality but others not. I like to call it "the happening" because there was a terrible movie by the same name.
I admire Balsekar and I read some of his books. But I think Advaita Masters should inform their pupils also about the danger of depersonalisation, derealisation and other serious psychological problems, if the dead of the ego is misunderstood. An estrangement of the psychological I, which is part of a functioning psyche, can cause serious mental problems like a psychosis. One should not go this path without a good accompaniment, because it is not without dangers.
I would say that Ramesh was one of the most practical teacher of non duality Very little mysticism and going directly to the essence of the problem !
I agree!
It's what real ones do.
Only him and allan watts are so clear
This illusory world

the illusory egos are asking
how their illusory suffering
can be removed …

It is not possible to express my deep sense of gratitude to Ramesh Balsekar Ji. 🙏🙏🙏
There is no 'I', there is no doer, there is no freewill. All there is, is an apparent happening.
I just love when it put so bluntly. But most seekers aren't trying to hear about how there's nothing special. No trap to catch a seeker in.
