I really like this album. Train of Consequences, Addicted to Chaos, Elysian Fields and Family Tree are great tracks from this criminally underrated album
Reckoning Day ✌️😈
I am m... A VICTORY
Best lineup of Megadeth, GREAT ALBUM.
This is my favourite album of them, my favourites are Reckoning Day, Addicted To Chaos, A Tout Le Monde, I thought..., Family Tree.
Agreed.
This was back when there were actual record stores LOL. This album was released at midnight on Halloween. I stood in line to get it
I remember that too! Good times😄
This album is underrated. Do more of it.
Megadeth has been my favorite band since 87. Seen them 22 times. Met different iterations of the band. Met Dave separately, because my friend worked at a radio station in Manhattan, and it was me, my friend, Dave, his wife and daughter. Got my booked signed, had a chat, walked them to the car, it was a very personal and surreal experience. He's one of the few "celebrities" I am in awe of, because Megadeth has been there for decades and every album defines some time period in my life. I know Dave doesn't have many years left before he stops making music, but the fact that I get to experience these songs through other people's eyes is wonderfully addictive.
I especially like this channel for taking a journey and becoming a fan, rather than doing this just for clicks. I can see you really like them and appreciate the artistry of Megadeth. They have so many different flavors, each album being different from the last while still sounding like Megadeth. I even love Risk for what it is, a risk. Glad to watch your reactions and love that this kind of music is gaining a new fanbase through reaction videos.
It seems to me that there is a unity happening on the internet, from people of different races and backgrounds to experience something positive together. And it happens to be centered around metal. And the communities these channels build is awesome.
It really does make me forget about the world's problems for a bit and I thank you.
What a great story, thanks for sharing!
Totally agree. Same here. We are creating such an amazing community
Music is amazing that way!
I took French class from grade 6 to grade 11. First damn time it was ever useful! Megadeth finally made it worthwhile.
I always wish I had taken French in school, mainly to impress the ladies.
"I speak German to my troops, French to the ladies and English to my dogs." - Charles V (Charles the Great)
I can't get how learning any foreign language could ever be useless. Especially at our time period.
All I can say killme lemme is that I've pretty much never used it for anything but understanding stuff like in this song. I respect your right to your opinion. Mine is based on my life, and the fact that knowing french has had no benefit to me. I like your screen name. Lemme was awesome!
@@godropkicks3219 ^^ yeah Lemmy s a legend ! 🤘
I understand how you feel about it, but the way I think of it is that any language you learn is still an open minder, a window to another culture, because you learn a language through what its culture produces (movies, litterature, arts of all sorts)... It's always good to be, even a little, more cultured. It has benefits. And who knows, maybe it will one day be practicaly very usefull to you 🤷
Peace to you killmelemme. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I very much respect how well you articulated it. Happy 4th brother. Be safe and enjoy.🤘
Great song! Good example of why Megadeth is one of the most talented bands.
Dave has had a change of heart and now he’s playing The Conjuring again. He’s played it a couple times during the current tour right now
Fantastic news
Yeah bruh he has been since the end of his last tour before he got cancer I believe badass song
Yeah, he played The Conjuring on Friday here in Denver when I saw them.
@@Sativaseeker69 lucky man
Played it in Reno on Tuesday. Great show!
Dave’s daughter did a live unplugged cover of this song on some morning show that was really killer! Her name is Electra Mustaine
In case anybody wondered, the French lyrics translate to "To all the world/to all my friends/I love you/I must depart".
Megadeth is one of the greatest bands on earth, in my not so humble but correct opinion.
Songs that are as deep musically as they are metaphorically and emotionally... This music strikes the heart.
I agree but man I miss that aggression. I'm happy he's in a good place but his older stuff helped me through tough times.
Any time Tasha plays air guitar, I'm all in. Hey, no shame in Canada. Canada rules!
My dad passed away 3 weeks ago and I played this song thinking about him. When Mustaine says: "Moving on, is a simple thing, what it leaves behind is hard, you know the sleeping feel no more pain, and the living all are scarred." & "As you read, just know my friends, I'd love to stay with you all, smile when you think about me, my body's gone that's all." I know I'll be reunited with him and Jesus. His body is gone but I have my memory of him.
My condolences to you for the loss of your father, may RIP

Thank you, I appreciate it. Then my mom died a week later.
For me this is the best version of this song and this album was ahead of its time which is why it’s so massively overlooked. Good stuff 🤘
I just saw Megadeth live 2 nights ago in Irvine Ca…they were AWESOME!
This is a great song, two more from this album are Train of Consequences and Victory.👍🔥🎧🤘🏻
Agree!
Victory... Ingenious!
@@dwaynestjohn5324 agree with that too
elysian fields is awesome toot
In my opinion ... it is about a man and his final goodbye to everyone when he dies. Definitely getting played at my funeral...
No dude Dave wrote the song after his mom died & he had a dream that she came back & had only one thing to say to him….
@@jacindavonhagel5420 ... that is the inspiration for the song, yes, but the point of view of the lyrics and the imagery in the video never really point to his mother so I interpret the meaning of the song as that of a man at the end of his time and saying goodbye.
@@timetheous Well my point was your interruption of the song & what it actually means to the man that wrote it are 2 different things. So when you say “it’s about a man & his final goodbye to everyone when he dies” you should add that what it means to you. Because the way you worded it made it sound like that’s what the song’s actually about which it’s not. God Bless 👍🏻
@@jacindavonhagel5420 My interpretation is just fine ... the inspiration for the song and what it means are two different things: ***The music video for "A Tout le Monde" was banned by MTV, who claimed it was pro-suicide.[1] However, in an interview conducted around 1994, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine stated:
" It's not a suicide song. What it is, it's you, it's when people have a loved one that dies and they end on a bad note, you know, they wish that they could say something to them. So this is an opportunity for the deceased to say something before they go. And it was my impression of what I would like to say to people, if I had say, 3 seconds to do so in life before I died I'd say to the entire world, to all my friends, I love you all, and now I must go. These are the last words I'll ever speak, and they'll set me free. I don't have to say I'm sorry, I don't have to say I'm going to miss you, or I'll wait for ya. You know, I'll just say I loved you all, good, bad, indifferent, I loved you all. " ***
I dig this Megadeth album, even though it's more of a basic and simplistic hard rock/heavy metal type of sound.
If you haven't heard them yet, I would recommend Use The Man or Foreclosure of a Dream. Awesome Megadeth songs. Love your channel guys.
The whole album is great!
I love the wide selection and open minded ness of you two
'A tout le monde' was written about Dave's mom, Emily Mustaine, who passed away ...Her passing reportedly pushed Dave Mustaine into shooting heroin in 1994 during the recording of 'Youthanasia'. He went to rehab again as a result...
Still a beautiful song... it didn't get much airplay on MTV in grunge era 1994. Mustaine re-recorded it in 2007 as 'A tout le monde (Set me free)' w/ Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil as co-vocal & featured on the music video.
You guys also did Go To Hell together. I'm strongly recommending Addicted to Chaos and Train of Consequences off of this amazing album
Fantastic album, further exploration needed T&T.
Ive listened to my fair share of music...from Motown, rap, jazz, hair metal, heavy metal, funk, etc etc..and this is the ONLY song that has every gave me chills....this is the first time ive
listened to this song in a while...chills...the music is like someone taking his last breath...Dave is awesome in this song!!!
A Dave masterpiece. This brings me back to my childhood growing up with these albums 🤘🏼
this album was fantastic from start to finish. always stood out to me a somewhat softer album. great songs!
The album cover was about the song 'Youthanasia' which had the line, "...hanging the youth out to dry."
Dave Mustaine was one of those kids who felt left out to die if he did not comply w/ adults in charge. Dave's father menaced his family for years after his parents' divorce cos there were no anti-stalking laws when he was growing up... He lived w/ his sister's husband, a cop who assaulted him as a teen for listening to a Judas Priest record... As a result, he left at age 15, dropping out of high school, and he couldn't get a legal job. The only options to earn were prostitution or drug-dealing; so he got into drug-dealing in the 70's... Dave got his first Motorhead & Iron Maiden records by dealing dope... He got his first guitars and amps that way too. I think he was 20 when he first auditioned for Metallica in late 1981.
I LOVED your reactions to this song!
On this album Dave really improved his singing
Absolutely Love U 2!! Enjoy every Reaction and comments, opinions and passion you both possess. Keep up the Great work.
Great album! Megadeth kicks ass.
Thank you for this
Love the reaction
Great insight. Spot on!
You sir are articulate in your description and I applaud you
"I wrote ['A Tout Le Monde'] for my mom when she died," he said. "It was kind of an epitaph for her. The premise of the song was that my mom was able to come back to visit me in a dream and she could say only one thing to me, then it was off. When I asked her what it was, it was, 'I love you.' And that's what the song was about."
At 2 in the morn, a tube of salami!!! Hahaha! I only make fun of songs i absolutely love! Seen Dave and the boys 3 times and loved every minute of it! Long live Megadeth!
Dave is an effing writing master..
Don't remember where I was
I realized life was a game
The more seriously I took things
The harder the rules became
I had no idea what it'd cost
My life passed before my eyes
I found out how little I accomplished
All my plans denied
So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Smile when you think of me
My body's gone that's all
A tout le monde, a tout mes amis
Je vous aime, je dois partir
These are the last words I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free
If my heart was still alive
I know it would surely break
And my memories left with you
There's nothing more to say
Moving on is a simple thing
What it leaves behind is hard
You know the sleeping feel no more pain
And the living all are scarred
A tout le monde, a tout mes amis
Je vous aime, je dois partir
These are the last words I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free
Solo - Friedman
So as you read, know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile, smile when you think about me
My body's gone that's all
A tout le monde, a tout mes amis
Je vous aime, je dois partir
These are the last words I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free
Solo - Mustaine & Friedman
This song is fantastic ! As french fan u can't imagine what it mean when Dave sings the chorus 🤘👏👍
Hell yeah
I remember reading an interview about Dave saying he was contemplating about his mother passing, which I think was slow in a hospital bed for a while. He was thinking about the last thing they said to eachother, and that led to him thinking in the lines; knowing that you are going to go soon, what do you even say to people? And that's pretty much the lyrics
Yessssss!!! What a beautiful reaction!! I LOVE this song, and the meaning is really poignant, despite being a dark subject, it's approached so respectively, that it makes for, I think, a positive result!
More of these couple reactions please!!
P.S. She has a beautiful voice, wish she'd kept going with that hook!!🤘🏻❤
The album cover means exactly what you said; it’s about how the past generation and government has left the Youth “out to dry”.
The lyrics of the title track explain it better.
“Who’d believe they’d spend more money shipping drugs and guns, than to educate our sons, sorry that’s what they did”
“We are the damned of all the world, with sadness in our hearts; the wounded of the wars. We’ve been hung out to dry”
Am I the only one who thought it was about him dying? Edit: after looking on Wikipedia it does indeed state with a quote from Dave that the song is about someone's final words and the last thing he'd say if he had 3 seconds to do so.
One of my favorite songs, it is my ring tone. Great reaction! .. I recommend seeking out his interviews explaining the meaning of this song. Very inciteful.
BINGO! First reaction video where I've seen someone get the lyric interpretation exactly right. Well done! Also, right on the album cover. It's about the youth being hung out to dry by the past generations.
His comments and analysis & research are spot-on. Like!
Great review of one of the most beautiful songs in this genre.
It's a song about Death and How it Effects those who are still alive & begging them to set his spirit free!
I had the making of video for this on VHS, Dave hired a French tutor to help him translate and pronounce the French parts correctly
Love the metal reactions especially when you guys r together! And you hit the nail on the head at the end with the meaning of the album art lol it’s exactly the lyrics of the title track
T you gotta show her the song Trust by Megadeth. All the girls love that one
great react guys!
Nick Menza killing it on drums in this one.
I really appreciate the way you see what Megadeth is, it's not simple to talk about a band that is not too popular but very good, you know their songs and their career is something unique that we enjoy when we listen to them, BTW one of my dreams was to watch Megadeth playing live and l realized it last year, they're something else 😮
actually the lyrics is a suicide note, he is saying that the sleeping feel no more pain (because they are dead) only his body is gone, smile when you thinking about me, remembering his life and him... i am surprised how they didnt get it yet after listening to the song and even understanding what was said in french.
Finally! Please continue exploring this album. I love literally, this whole album. I have often used this album to introduce the timid or otherwise reluctant new listener to consider Megadeth. I have created the term 'Megadeth lite' but a more accurate way to put it might be'medium tempo Megadeth'.
Cracking song but I actually prefer the re-recording they did years later, with Christina Scabbia on co-lead vocals, it's a touch quicker and the twin vocal works so well.
No.
Garbage.
they do play conjuring now. there’s some vids from their tour this year they play conjuring
Dude your wife is a throwback….lucky man
MORE MEGADETH PLEASE !!! New World Order, Endgame, How The Story Ends, Washington Is Next, She-Wolf, Countdown To Extinction, Ashes In Your Mouth, Devil's Island...
The title track of this album needs to be your next listen because it makes the symbolism of the album art crystal clear 👌 Great reaction man keep on with Megadeth Mondays!
From what I remember, the song is about suicide. The main chorus is a sort of goodbye letter. (I may be wrong, though)
Ahhhh....the original version. This makes it all better.....🤗🤗🤗😊😊😊😊😄😄😄
Keep the MEGADETH GOING!
YOU ROCK!!!!
The album cover is from the title track lyrics ‘we’ve been hung out to dry’
Dave said he wrote this song after a dream about his mother who had died. The song is about dealing with his mothers death
Amazing Megadeth album ....train of consequences ,I thought I knew it all, youthanasia (song) ....brilliant
It's a very deep song about life friendship. Greetings from Ecuador
"Public Enemy Number 1", by these guys. You won't be disappointed! The song is 🔥🔥🔥
You guys should react to the United Abominations version of A Tout Le Monde as well, it's a duet with Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil.
i agree
great song from a fantastic album. so much awesomeness on Youthanasia!!!
This song is about what your last words to a love one when you die what do you say before you die the biggest clue is with the lyrics these are the last words i ever speak and they will set me free
Dave did stop playing certain songs for a long time due to his religious beliefs, but in recent years, he has relaxed his views on that. In 2018, he brought "The Conjuring" back into the setlist for the first time in 17 years. And that song is in the band's current setlist too. That song is awesome, so I was very happy when Dave started playing it again.
"If my heart was still alive... " - That child in the video - see him as "Little Dave" (Especially in timestamps 1:31 & 3:45 ). Some of us out there, see that child as us, ourselves, at that age... which lives on in pain, while we yet grow. And it's a sucky realization. What this song's message is about, some of us even contemplated such, at such early ages - I was five, when I'd first contemplated such things. When a person's life is encompassed by extremes, one emotes in extremes. Be good, stay safe, love each other... and try to remember, that to leave this world of one's own accord, can be seen as just *a permanent solution to temporary problems* ❤
'A Tout Le Monde' is based on a dream I had, where my mother came back from heaven to say 'I love you.' It's about me talking to her again."
Mustaine added: "We don't write music that has any kind of suggestion about taking one's life. It is more like, 'Hey, we have a problem, let's be part of the solution.'"
I just saw them September 1 in Irvine California!!!!
You both need to react to
Megadeth - Promises
Tash will love it…..
i like that they're just vibin while the song is about saying goodbye(suicide or dying)
anyways, Youthanasia is my favourite album of megadeth.
It's about death or the preparation before death. Like a suicide note or knowing you have cancer with days or weeks to live.
True story is he effectively died of od, but docs managed to get his heart back pumping, and this song is how hed like to get people remember him if he died
Great video
This album was written after Dave had died from an overdose and was recessitated. He says that this song is about that experience and basically if he had one last thing to say to the ones he loves and this song came about.
I want this played at my wake. Please smile when you think of me. My bodies gone but that's all.
I like the version he did with Christi Scabbia. Megadeth - À Tout Le Monde [Set Me Free] (Music Video) - RUclips
this song has a version with Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil singing together.
About hanging out babies, actually in Youthanasia song lyrics there is a line like: "We've been hung out to dry", so you probably want to check that out.
a tout le monde - to everybody // a tous mes amis -- to all my friends // je vous aime - i love you // je dois partir - i must leave.
It's a song about ,end of life. The French is for his mother who is French.
🇨🇵 À tout le monde !
À tous mes amis !
Je vous aime !... Je dois partir. 🇨🇵
☝🏻 These lyrics were very controversial back in the day.
Megadeth were accused of promoting suicide.
Megadeth have done a version of this with Cristina scabia from lacuna coil, really nice.
This so reminds me of my son who die from asthma !!! “Smile when you think about me, my body’s gone that’s all” !!!!!!
The solo on the song Victory is something else! Check that out! 😎
they did a version of this song with the chick from lacuna coil. pretty good.
LOVE THIS SONG!!!! 🔥🔥🤘🤘💜💜💜
Good God this song is so badass
I remember when this song came out. I looked up the translated lyrics. Good song
Youthanasia and the Metallica black album were the earliest albums I owned. I grew up with them as a kid. I didn't know until later that fans didn't like how mainstream and soft both albums were. I still think they're two of the best albums for both bands.
It was dope live on Letterman
T grew up in Canada? YEAH! Canada here (Alberta)!
Please do "Nuclear Assault - Fight to be free".. from the Survive album. Actually, anything from their first 4 albums. Simply amazing band.
