  • She's hereeeeeeee. I can't believe I'm saying that! This labor did not go according to plan at all! But what I was able to have that I wanted was a successful VBAC. Labor and delivery only lasted 4 hours. Which was too fast to get the one thing I so desperately wanted.... an epidural. So that meant I had to find my inner strength and push her out unmedicated and raw. It was hard but it was worth it. Welcome to my labor and delivery vlog. I hope it gives you a positive mindset to attempt a VBAC for yourself.

    Hi there! I’m Kasandra, the mom behind Oh Mother. Jersey made, Florida raised. I have a wonderful husband to which I’ve been married to for 5 years. Fun fact about us, we got married after only 5 months of dating! What can I say, when you know, you know. We have a beautiful blended family. I am a mom to a 3-year-old girl named Izabella, and my newborn, Luna. I’m a stepmom to a 12-year-old boy named Gavin and 16-year-old young lady names Evelynn. I help parents navigate through the overwhelming amount of baby products out there and select the best baby products for you and your baby. I also share the everyday life of parenthood. My goal is to provide you the best feedback to make choosing baby and parenting products easier. Welcome to the Oh Mother family. I am so glad you are here!

    The way our bodies push on their own is incredible! Same thing happened to me with my 2nd baby! I’m due with baby 4 and my 1st VBAC in 12 days! This was so heartwarming! It’s such a battle! The most painful experience! But it DOES END! We do recover from it! And we go on to have our beautiful babies to raise! Women are warriors. Truly incredible warriors! I’m so proud to be a woman and a mother!! Thanks for sharing!!

    Hey mama, great job with your VBAC!! I recently gave birth in August & I wanted an unmedicated, natural, water birth in a comfortable setting and it did not happen that way LOL, not entirely! I ended up going to the hospital for pain management + epidural. But ended up not being able to get it so in the end I had a unmedicated natural birth 😅🥲 and YES girl, birthing is sooo intense and wild and beautiful and empowering all at the same time 🧡.. take care of yourself!! Isn’t it truly amazing how God designed our bodies to know what to do?? In our weakness, He is made strong. When you were at the end of your own strength, He was able to step in and carry you through.
    The snippet of your fertility journey with the moment you found out you were pregnant is so heartwarming. Like you said, y’all went through that for reasons only God will know so be encouraged that He works everything together for the good of those that love Him and for His glory! Your journey is a wonderful testimony unto Him! I’m crying along with you just seeing the moment you got to finally meet your precious angel!! Children are truly a GIFT from God and giving birth and motherhood is such an honor!

      @@jasminea58531 it won’t be easy it’s very painful and it may last more than 24 hours. You have to pray and be strong and at least have one support person there. They’ll ask you if you need pain meds and they won’t stop until you give in. They’ll also tell you baby is too high, too big and so on never listen to one doctor wait until another one changes positions with the one you have.

    Question: why didn’t you want a fast drug free birth? I personally think that’s the way to go, a long drawn out labor (with an epidural slowing it down) sounds miserable 😩 and there are many women complaining of long term issues after an epidural. You can’t plan your birth, it’s all up too god and that baby ❤️ is this baby #4 for hubby?
    Btw I love all your outfits, blue looks great on you.

    • @OhMother
      @OhMother  2 года назад

      I hate pain lol. I wanted fast. Just not drug free. My body delivers fast so I know that even with an epidural it wouldn’t be that long. But either way, I wouldn’t have mind. Every person is different with the effects they have after birth. For a C-section I heard so many things that could go wrong but thank goodness I didn’t have anything. It went smooth for me for my first daughter

    I have a question. Now that u experienced a drug free birth, would u do it again or would u definetely get the epidural the next time if there is one?

    • @OhMother
      @OhMother  2 года назад +1

      Such a good question. Ive debated this in my mind quite often. I honestly dont know. The pain is so intense. But the euphoric feeling you have after its done is like no other. But I would like to remember more of it and be able to enjoy the process before babys arrival. I only remember bits and pieces. Even for my first birth, it went just as fast. I barley made it to the operating table. My body just sneezes out babies lol. I think i would like to try for an epidural but I honestly don’t think I’d make it. I think all my births would end in natural unmedicated. Unless its a C-section.

    • @smroez4644
      @smroez4644 2 года назад +2

    Would you do natural birth again or c- section ?

    • @OhMother
      @OhMother  2 года назад +1

      As crazy at it sounds, I would want a natural birth. It is truly a magical experience. However, I have never been stuck on a birth. The priority was the baby’s safe arrival, so I would glady give birth in whatever manner I needed to get them here safe.

    How was the recovery period after VBAC? I’m hoping to give birth naturally for the 2nd one cause c section recovery was depressing for me 😢 although I am scared of giving birth again but want a second child so badly!

    • @OhMother
      @OhMother  Год назад +1

      It was actually a bit rougher than the c-section. For the c-section they gave me pretty heavy duty meds. So I didn’t feel much. For the vbac they did not give me anything and your body goes through quite an intense experience to give birth. But it wasn’t unbearable. Just a little harder. If you have family that can stay with you for about a week after to help you recover, that will be a huge help.

      Quite a long time. Can I possibly have a VB 1 year after a c section?

    • @OhMother
      @OhMother  Год назад +1

      I can’t answer that for you. Best thing would be to consult your OBGYN.

    One common theme I've noticed is that women who had previous C sections struggle very hard to get pregnant the second time around. And this makes sense since C sections cut through your uterus and possibly ovaries and the resulting scar impedes the normal functioning of these organs. Thus not being to conceive is expected. I wish more doctors informed women of these risk factors

      Yes you are correct. I have been having a hard time thinking may be the c section is the reason i was having a hard time progressing with my pregnancies and now reading that there are other mummas out there too experiencing the same makes you think why would these doctor not think about this consequence before just doing a CS

    • @coppersulphate002
      @coppersulphate002 4 месяца назад

      @koolkat1o2 they don't think about the consequences. They only think about getting the job done and the mom would deal with the consequences herself. Additionally doctors make a lot of money

    How were you able to switch hospitals? What did you have to do..? I’m two weeks away and would like to do the same

    • @OhMother
      @OhMother  2 года назад +1

      I called hospitals to see which one would take me as a walk in as 2-3 weeks out is super short notice and no OBGYN would take me. I was trying to have a vaginal birth after c-section and as a walk in, most hospitals would only do another c-section. Once I found a hospital that found me, I retrieved all my medical paperwork as requested from the hospital and went in to the hospital to meet with them. They have ti approve me. Once they approved me, I went in when I went into labor and it went smoothly. Hope that helps! Good luck.
