HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE 1 MILLION VIEWS!!!! Everything about this video was awesome 👏 the filming, the story, the trip, the people, monteros/pajeros just WOW thank you for sharing this amazing video
What is called "Overlanding" today, was called "Off Roading" when I was your age, lol. Most every level of trail difficulty, except rock crawling and mudding. Back around 1990 my friends and I explored almost every Colorado Fire Access Road, trail, Pass, and River Crossing in the state. I had an '86 4Runner, my buddy had a '69 Bronco, 2 guys w Blazers, the wives, and kids at our sides. Such good memories. My sons (6 and 9 at the time) grew up, and both own 1st Gen 4runners, and to this day say that their favorite childhood memories are from the trails. All my buddies from that period gave up off roading for boating, a sports cars. Me ...2 jeeps, 2 troopers, and a Dodge Raider later, I'm still on the trails. Stay safe, great video. Cheers.
We all had kids at the same time, sold our houses at the same time, and 2/3 moved to another town in Texas, while I moved to rural Colorado. We're all best buds, but we haven't traveled like this together in a while. My own channel has more recent uploads, if you're interested.
We all had a few kids, sold our houses, and moved around. All still really close, but I don't know when we will have more content like this put together.
I am from Brisbane australia. Thanks for sharing your videos. I am a proud Pajero NP owner as well. I am now a fan of your channel. Hope to see more travels and videos from you fellas
Thank you!! It's been a long while since we filmed anything together, but I'm working on content for my channel. I still have the NL as well as a few other 4x4s. - The group sold homes, had a few kids, and have been busy with life the last couple years, but I'm sure something will be uploaded again at some point.
That's what we think too. We are open to practically any brand that has ever produced a quality 4x4, but feel like a lot of what is out there does feel repetitive.
Beautiful video. Can’t wait to go again. Welcome to Switzerland @14:25 . Looks like my country except but it is only for a few people allowed to drive to places like that. Like Ranger😜😢
What a amazing video....I thoroughly enjoy every minute of it. The views gave me chills....I can't even imagine how beautiful it was experiencing those views and surroundings in person. My wife never really saw her Gen 3 as a off road vehicle when I always try to tell her...she was left Wowed. I have been talking about making a trip like this for about a year now of experiencing the trails in the mountains...this video made her understand why I want to soo much. Thank you.
Hey It's About FAM, so glad you enjoyed it and that it helped her see why you want to take that trip. All we can say is DO IT!! You are correct this video, as much as we tried, still doesn't compare to what it's like being there, sticking your head out the window and seeing that view live. It's UNREAL! Thanks for the comments and hopefully we'll see you out there on the trails someday in that Gen 3.
@@drivenoverland2012 Is this a annual trip you do? Maybe it may be feasible to plan a trip in the future and roll out with you and the crew. I live in Florida...and I love the mountains and the diversity of what mountainous environments provide. Florida doesn't have anything like that. Florida has some nice spots....but nothing that would satisfy my soul in a way.
@@Mr4Grim Sorry we missed your comment. You know at the moment this particular route isn't planned as an annual trip. BUT… that's an idea. We have definitely talked about inviting others to join us on some of these trips. We'll keep you posted!!
The only bad thing about the 3 gen is that regular maintenance is a pain in the ass but still, is an extremely well-built vehicle, reliable, and easy to modify.
Just watched with a big grin the entire 26 minutes. So great to see Montero's on an adventure like this. The drone footage was amazing. Thanks for sharing with us! (2003 Montero owner)
I can't tell you how watching this video has brought back so many memories. We used to have a 1988 Pajero and seeing this has brought back so many memories. You guys have inspired me and I hope one day I get the opportunity to travel and see the world and be free like you guys were. Hopefully we shall be seeing another upload soon. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Just got back from Colorado actually and bought an 01 Montero XLS a couple weeks after. Watching this and thinking about adventures next year and years to come! Thank you for making this! Hopefully can join you on an adventure in the future! It'll be a long road trip from Florida for me.
Thank you very much for sharing this! Absolutely Beautiful! I love my 06 so much. I call the Montero/Pajero a budget LR4. They are amazing vehicles, and just sitting in them feels like an adventure. I have always wanted to go on a overland/photography trip. There were so many perfect photo moments in your video. The scene at 21:50 looks like one of those "PERFECT" moments. I hope to see more videos!! Thanks For Sharing: Much Love From Iowa :)

Great video of our back yard LOL ( I'm here in Colorado ) thank you for sharing! I know its a lot of work but would love to see more footage from you guys, I'm especially interested in your montero's, I own a 2019 4runner and 2002 Montero Limited since new with only 60k miles, I lean towards the Montero to convert and would love to see how you guys equipped yours, I want to thank you in advance, God bless you guys and enjoy your trips.
Awesome and thank you! We love Colorado. We'll be updating our website www.driven-overland.com with more build content for each of the trucks, as well as another 2006 Montero that one of us purchased this year. If you're on the Adventure Driven Design or Expedition Portal Forums, look for Se7en62's build for more info on the 1999.
This is awesome!! Trying to get a montero myself and making it an overlanding rig like you guys have. Cannot wait for more videos from you. Definitely will be following the channel 👍
Thanks! These rigs are so under-rated you can often find them for cheap. Just be sure to budget for catch-up maintenance from lacking previous owners and you'll be golden. - Our website will be updated soon with more information about the trucks. www.driven-overland.com
Thank you! They all have the pros and cons, depending on your uses. The older Gen 2.5 Montero belongs to me and I have it at my new house in CO. It's as rock solid as they come. The Gen 3s are both cool in their own way too, having IFS/IRS with a really slick trailing arm design that was the result of Dakar Rally engineering.
What are the odds? We were up at Clear Lake at the same time as you guys. I tried to see if I could see myself in your drone shots. Then you can see my rig at our campsite near the water crossing shot after clear lakes down in the valley near there. I love SW Colorado. Good video, thanks
The odds are pretty slim, but the internet makes the world a much smaller place. It was great to (not)meet you, but glad we have crossed paths more than once now! Let's meet up some time!
So awesome! Wish my son get his driving licence this Nov and buy his own Paj..start follow his dad step and build. One of the best overlanding videos on YT. Period! I also have a 2004 3rd gen, what lift & tire upgrade do you guys recommend? I went slightly bigger on tires (265/75R16 KOs) but I want to lift it a bit, too. I've heard ARB Old Man Emu is a good option. Keep rockin'!
ARB Old Man Emu is a good choice. On my '06 Gen 3, I ran Lovells springs, Bilstein 5100s, and 285/75R17 Patagonia MTs. Andy and Jeremiah both run similar setups. Andy's is on OME and Patagonias, while Jeremiah's was on OME and General Grabber X3s.
I'm seriously thinking about a Montero Limited(2002-2006?) for my first rig. My research has shown me that they perform well and are reliable. Plus I like to be the underdog.
