Incredible List. Inception had a massive impact on me the first time I watched it. It's the first movie that had me in a tailspin by the end of it. almost taunting me to rewatch it to unlock more of its secrets that had befuddled me the first time around. It seemed like a movie that just came out of nowhere in 2010 and was like nothing I had ever seen before. No one in my family or circle of friends was excited to see this film besides me because I am a massive science and physics dork. They all just dismissed it and said it was too confusing for them to make sense of it all. The Film's concept and Soundtrack in particular has stuck in my mind ever since and truly is some of Zimmer's finest work. And even to this day it is my favourite film of all time. It really deepened my appetite for similar mindbending science fiction masterpieces like Mr Nobody, Donnie Darko, Predestination, Coherence and Vanilla Sky

Congrats Chase, great retrospective/ranking. Still gotta finish Nolan’s filmography to really rank all his features. Dunkirk’s still probably my favorite of what I’ve seen though. Saw it five times in theaters, which I can’t think I’ve done for any movie except maybe Tar?

Oppenheimer (Its good too, it has some scences that are directed diferently than the standard Nolan's formula) 08. Interstellar (I have a love / hate relationship on this one, it has some of the greater scence from all Nolan movies and it has an emotional potency, but also a bunch of scence that made me cringe, and i don't buy the third act completly) 07. Inception (its really enterteining and exiting, one of the most epic experiences in Nolan's filmography but the suport characters lacks from a complex construction and there are many plot holes in the third act) 06. Insomnia (Pretty great jajaja I completely disagree with you in the video, I think this is one of the most cohesive scripts that Nolan has worked, the thing is that I don't feel it too impactfull in an intelectual or emotional way than others) 05. The Dark Knight (based opinion, but the script has too many problems that Nolan fans are refuse to see) 04. Memento (Very thoughtfull and well spun. This movie makes me think about the limits of memory and questions about what is real and what we perceive as real) 03. Batman Begins (I love the exploration of a broken man with serious psicological problems and the fact that the movie explores in a really emotional way what defines us like ourselves is pretty emotive) 02. The Prestige (the paralel that makes between cinema and magic are pretty impresive and same as memento, it has some questions about what is real and what is not) 01. The Dark Knight Rises (Contrary to The Dark Knight I think this is a really underrated movie on the Nolan's catalog. Philosophically is one of the most profound scripts that Nolan and Goyer has written, and all the character are so complex and threedimentional that I can empathize with everyone. This movie is heartbreaking, very thoughtfull, poetic and complex) Conclusions: BASED ENDING

Logan is definitely good in its own right! Dark Knight is just personally way more up my alley (I’m definitely a crime drama over western guy every day of the week though). Thanks for the comment man!
Logan and Batman(2022) are superior movies compared to TDK. Matt Reeves made an authentic batman movie in which batman is a fucking detective which Nolan tends to forget. Nolan's Batman movies are style over substance and void of any logic and common sense. Is he really expecting us to believe that Hong Kong police walked 20-25 floors of stairs within 1.5-2 minutes in TDK 🤣🤣.
When ever I read some people posting or writing articles how "overrated" Nolan is as a director, I just think they probably had hard time understanding what was going on with the plot thus could not focus on other things that movie provided.....
I don’t think tenet gets enough love. I appreciate the good things you said about it and it is your opinion of course, but dumb and cringy is the last thing I would use to describe it. Quite honestly, how else was Nolan supposed to do it? You complain that it’s too confusing, but you complain that the explanations are too cringy. How is it coming from the future cringy? Also, while I can see the argument for the characters being dull and hard to attach to, I just disagree. They are very likable to me and the whole Kat sator thing was fascinating to me. Also the story is anything but boring. It’s a war between the present and the future. What’s not to like? Thanks for shouting out my man Ludwig though. He is for sure the Hans Zimmer of the future for that track and Oppenheimer.
I appreciate the different opinions! I just think I love the overall concept of Tenet at the moment versus actually loving the film itself, and I think the characters maybe feel a little too bland (whether that be an intentional choice on Nolan's part of not with naming the protagonist "The Protagonist"). Maybe the future me will get that entropy effect and turn my score into a 5/5, but I just have my doubts at the moment lol. I appreciate the comment though and love your list!
@@chaseazarian thanks man! Also I mean no hate with my comment, just wanted to point out the things I disagreed with. Yeah that entropy stuff is incredibly confusing, but the physics behind it is shockingly stable.
The reason why i think interstellar is so stupid is that Nolan tried to use climate change and global warming in that movie but people that have half a brain should know that none of that shit is real
Interstellar and Tenet are flawed but it's not bad come on. Dunkirk is a refreshing experience. The three timelines offers like a sensorial war movie, it's awesome. One of the most imersive films ever. TDKR is kinda meh.

@@darksole5593 No hate taken at all!
The reason why i think interstellar is so stupid is that Nolan tried to use climate change and global warming in that movie but people that have half a brain should know that none of that shit is real
and now he wishes to do halo.
Tenet is a turkey
I have no clue if that is a good or bad thing hahaha
Momento is seven places too high
Imma Memento that opinion ⏮️
Inception is the last great film made by Nolan. His later movies are all style over substance except Oppenheimer.
Interstellar and Tenet are flawed but it's not bad come on. Dunkirk is a refreshing experience. The three timelines offers like a sensorial war movie, it's awesome. One of the most imersive films ever. TDKR is kinda meh.
Interstellar is really really a stupid movie it was boring dry and the characters were dull
You probably should watch it again bro
