I don’t know about y’all but I got that same size cut and I cook a lot (I’m 13 I just like cooking random shit) I didn’t notice until I was playing rainbow six siege and my mouse wasn’t working to I started clicking it with the tip of my finger only lookin like this 👇 and it was a little bit of a shock feeling random pain and then my mouse was all bloody and it’s a good fuckin mouse y’all. It’s fine though a few good licks got all the blood off.

As a cook myself this is one of the realest cooking segments I've ever seen. I can't tell you how many times I've cut myself or seen someone cut themselves and they just throw a glove on and keep going. I don't think people have enough understanding of what cooks/chefs go through. The restaurant industry is the 2nd most stressful job environment, the hours are long and rough, when an accident happens there's no time for the word hospital. You have to deal with it and keep going. Props to Gordon to show what it's really like behind the line and an accident occurs.

Man! He cut the HELL out of his finger! I recently did something similar after losing concentration-- I sliced off a bit of my index finger-- and it hurt so much I had to stop cooking for like, an hour. For a minute this segment got awkward, because you could feel everyone getting kind of freaked out by the injury/blood, but he just pushed on and Ellen cracked jokes and it turned out fine. Total professionals. He kept just kept going, and Ellen went with the flow.

Gordon Ramsay can literally do anything to make a good meal. He got injured but instead of complaining he immediately started cooking again and even put his finger in a bowl of salt.. this is some serious dedication

Wow a day in my life right there... Not that I cut myself often or anything but I'm a line cook/prep cook/you freaking name it but when I cut myself the show must go on! Cooks don't feel pain in the moment. You should see the fresh scars on my arm from cleaning the griddle a little too aggressively lmao

@PancakesoftheLove With a properly sharpened knife, a cut like that doesn't hurt much when you do it, but it bleeds like crazy. It hurts the next day (and for quite a few days after) because the nail isn't there to protect the tender skin underneath. Still, last time I sliced a sliver of nail like that I wasn't on live TV, nor did I immediately finish the dish I was preparing while cracking jokes. I think I yelled every curse word I knew while trying to find a bandaid with one hand ;)
@justsailingalong It's more common then you'd think to feel light headed or faint after ripping a nail off, I am indeed very impressed.

can i just add..
steak rots in our stomachs for years before it's fully digested? if we were meant to eat it, there's no doubt our bodies would break the stuff down with more ease.
i'm a vege (even though i love my meat) and i've never in a million years seen my skin clearer, hair thicker, and my health in general just improve as much as it has.
i also recently rescued some farm animals (ex battery hens) and they're incredibly intelligent.

I think I found the nail. On 0:32, pause and look at the cutting board. On the indented line, there is a little nail clipping sitting in the indention. LOL I just noticed that. :)
Blood always gives a better taste and a way to marinate the vegies but I am not sure if it would be good idea to put some into the vege dish
