    "Everyone hates us"
    😅🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh boy, I do feel for everyone involved.

I’d say libertarian look at their firearms manifesto, they want to start off by legalising .22 pistols and hopefully turning that up to full power pistols and they want to legalise certain centrefire semi auto rifles

Well done Jonny :). It was with some trepidation that I clicked on this one, muttering 'don't do it, Jon, stay away from the Politics' to myself. However, a very clear and well balanced piece just reviewing the parts of the manifestos that concern the Counrtyside and Activities, with no bias showing through. Good job! I suspect the 'everyone hates us' quip was quite tongue in cheek and is not strictly the case. There is a small but increasingly visible and aggressive minority of antis, emboldened by certain (deliberately) misinformed TV celebs, but they'll move on once the next moral outrage comes along.

Questioned the sense in doing it myself!
Indeed it was tongue in cheek, about the only emotional expression I was allowed in this piece!

I'm in the US but take an interest in what happens in the UK....partly because a good deal of our heritage originates in the UK, and partly because the UK is basically America's canary in the political coal mine.

Forester here. You 100% already need permission to cut down your own trees on your own land the vast majority of the time. Felling licenses are a thing. What a time to be alive, right?

Regarding the snares I’ve just received my snaring cert from GWCT and in Scotland they tag their snares so we aren’t far from that already

John, I view, on a regular basis, game management programs, via RUclips. I find them informative and very well balanced with prime consideration for preservation and propagation. In my humble and non-voting opinion, "the game keeping"'/land management program(s) works and should be advanced. I also believe that universities should sponsor curricula that combines active and engaging instruction that will a secure a healthy ecology for future generations . Thank you. Best Regards for Success! Frank Vacirca

The shooting, hunting, farming community will never get a say on anything regarding the things they know best about because we don’t have a voice. All we get is a representative from basic saying that they “strongly oppose”. Thanks 🙄

Hum.... the politicians took away nearly all the guns - but apparently that wasn’t good enough? They need to affect the shooter some more...

First and foremost has to be to get rid of the current "government" ( I use the term as loosely as possible). A majority Johnson government would be an utter disaster. I am hoping for a hung parliament and a coalition of the sensible, so that the current crises can be rationally addressed. Everything else has to be secondary.

Basc have a link on their website to enable you to get the stance from your local political parties surrounding shooting. It takes seconds to send and might help with decisions.

I'm a US citizen and am a very liberal progressive. We have a Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I live in a state in which any adult resident can openly carry firearms. I own 28 guns, rifles and even a few handguns.
It's difficult for me to understand why you folks in the UK tolerate such repressive gun laws but that's your choice. If you didn't want those laws, presumably you wouldn't have them. You likely have lower violent crime rates than we do but is that attributable to your gun laws ? A large part of our criminal class is gun-oriented and suspect that it might not be the case over there and not because of decreased availability. Am I wrong about that?

    • @timbo853
      @timbo853 3 года назад +1

The violent crime rates are pretty much the same in the UK as the US. The banning of certain firearms and weapons has honestly not changed anything about the crime statistics.

At the start of this film you state "we are going to look at the 3 main parties" - by what measure are you determining the "main parties"?
The 3 largest parties by both seat and overall party membership numbers are (currently) Conservative, Labour and SMP. Lib Dems fall far behind the SMP.
