If James Hetfield endorses you, get ready for a killer career in the music industry. If you tour with Metallica, you're going to have a very long career. I never heard of ghost until I seen James Hetfield playing one of their riffs just messing around between takes. But now thanks to Metallica and James Hetfield, ghost is a metal fixture.
Lots of people give credit to Metallica for getting them discovered but I've known Ghost since 2013 thanks to Avenged Sevenfold bringing them on their Hail To The King tour when I went. I'm thankful these amazing bands have endorsed Ghost over the years because people now know how amazing Ghost is as well. 🤘🏻
@@Fister_of_Muppets yeah while I'm sure a lot of people discovered them from that festival, the thing is even though it was with Metallica it was still just a 2-day festival. I think they definitely got a lot more exposure from being on an actual album tour with Avenged Sevenfold because they got to travel and play big arenas all around America with them. Either way, they both played major roles into setting the path to fame for Ghost

Definitely a historic event to me because I probably would not be a fan of them today (at least not yet anyway) because the only reason I checked them out afterwards was because I saw them in concert and thought they were amazing! Hopefully one day they can recreate that tour again together.

I know nothing & obviously Hetfield knows what he's doing. I respect TF as an artist. But their music does not channel how I feel - no prob - there's bands for everyone. I need my metal to sculpt pain and chaos into sound & scream it back at an indifferent universe.

No they're not really metal. Definitely have some sabbath-type elements and the imagery they use is similar to a lot of metal, but the music isn't metal. Doesn't change the fact that it's good tho

When we say Ghost is metal we are definitely talking about 70/80s metal elements in their music, especially in their recent albums. But people think that when we call them metal we're talking about like current metalcore stuff when we actually mean the oldschool type. Just listen to Watcher In The Sky, Respite On The Spitalfields and Griftwood from Ghost's new album, that album is definitely 80s metal/rock inspired.
That’s the hard thing with being a massive musical icon and being a music fan. If you’re as big as Hetfield, you have the ability to promote or negatively impact other artists in music. I’m sure it’s very difficult to let your hair down and just be an average fan. At the end of the day it’s all business and he had to be careful about what he says or does being a celebrity.
