Lots of soul-searching and self-discovery in this video. I do mention anxiety and depression, but don't go into detail. This pony has a very special place in my heart and I wanted to share why because I know there are likely a lot of fellow empaths/INFPs here who can relate to feeling things on a ridiculous level and may have a fear of being invisible or overlooked. "praise the moon!" But seriously though Luna is a very interesting character because (at first) she couldn't fit in at first but when she learns from twilight sparkle and her friends she eventually became a very good princess.
I related to Luna when it comes to putting your heart and effort to anything you do only to have others either put it down or ignore it and do it themselves/ got others to do it for you.
The reason why I love Luna so much 💕💕💕 is because like me she's trying to be better and learn from her mistakes.
This reimagining is definitely another joy, just like the Celestia one. :) I love the galaxy colors in her mane, and how she appears to be the same age as her sister now, with both of them looking very youthful. On the subject of the galaxy colors, one of the biggest treats I've had as someone who enjoys computer games is doing deep exploration in the computer game Elite Dangerous because the developers actually model what it would be like to fly around inside the various astrological phenomena that we can just barely see with telescopes, and because those things are so immense that a camera trillions of miles away can see them clearly. Some of them are like flying underwaters; still others are sailing an ocean of fire, and still others are traveling inside of light, everything so bright that you can barely see the star of the solar system. It was really neat that you could bring that kind of experience into the art and paint it into Luna's galactic tresses. :)
My personal experience of Luna is not so much the "gamer Luna" persona, or someone who's relatable, and more the "normal" princess. What I mean by that is that because of personality, and as a part of her eternal art project being very personal to her, Luna can slip easily into crowds and seem like just another person rather than a distant authority figure. In my mind, Celestia is the kindly mother, and Luna is the cool big sister, at least to the ordinary pony who meets then.
On the part outside of just the art elements, I fully relate to the creative type struggle you describe. Sinking years of your creative energies into something that is effectively ignored cuts kind of deeply, and that perspective makes it even easier to relate to the canon Luna.
As to which pony I think would be fun to see reimagined? Autumn Blaze, or if you want to go beyond pony a little, Gabriella. I also think a reimagining of Coco Pommel would be fun to see, although the show does a really good job of making her design elements very "cute, sweet, and helpful."
Agreed, even though Celestia has her moments, l think Luna has the hardest job. But l respect those who think otherwise. 👍
luna is one of of my favorites because as a kid i felt, like FELT, her feelings of being unappreciated and jealous. sometimes i still do, but not so much the jealousy part. not to mention shes just weirdly charming and i love night themed things anyway. she was one of, if not the first, character i ever related to really. i love her and this design :]

The story was very meaningful and i can see why. Also it reminds me of a the charactor arc for persona 5 character yusuke (phantom thief fox) who is an aspiring artist but after his abusive master is exposed and defeated he feels lost, he tries showcasing his art but snobs just blow it off and it takes a while for him to be recognized .lastly i LOVE the redesign, your art is masterful as always and it so works for Luna, for me she is bes princess.
Beautiful re imagine art of Luna, I wonder if Cadence, Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, Zecora, Cutie Mark Crusaders, Daybreaker & Nightmare Moon might get added to the list.
Who know's maybe they will maybe they won't we'll have to wait and see, keep up the great work

I have Always liked Luna sinces the Start of season 1 i always saw Celestia as a Bad sister and i thought that for a long time until i saw a Royal Problem They bad Finally realised to be nice to Each other whitch is a good thing i Always saw her turning into NightMaremoon becaues of Celestia and i just liked Luna more then Celestia becaues of it it would Go like this Twilight Luna Cadance and Celestia last for the princess i did not know people liked Luna in that way until now i always liked her becaues of how she was and i felt bad for her a lot im glad she became Luna again in Season 1 shes amazing on to this Design i love it its very Bright and cute i would like to see you Re-Imagine Cadance next

But in all seriousness, this is gorgeous! I think one reason why Luna was my favorite was because of her design. (mainly because blue my favorite color ^^;) and you just took her design to a whole new level! In fact, I remember reading a fanfic where Luna transformed and one description they did was change her mane from looking like a night sky, to look like a galaxy. And I always wanted to see her like that! So thank you so much for this, this is perfect!
That's one of the best descriptions I ever heard about why Luna is such a good character. I started to love her since _Do Princesses Dream Of Magic Sheep?_ because of how much I could relate to how Luna was feeling, and I then I started to pay more attention to her, and noticed how relatable she is, how pure her heart is. In that moment she became my favorite character by far uwu

Yeah, I can definitely understand working for hours on a chapter for a story only for the comments not to be very disappointing. I've run into my fair share of people who offer their "constructive criticism" was just a way to tear down what I've managed to write and it does hurt, but I have learned to deal with it. But thank you for actually putting it in better than what I can, at least verbaly

I mad a drawing about a dragon. I dreamed about this dragon. So I wanted to make it come alive. I was met with "it looks like the dragon from How to train your dragon (Toothless)" or "it's just a copie". It wasn't literally everyone else said otherwise. The colors where the only similar things. It was disappointing and hurtful. I got over it. But it took people to help me up again. So yeah.
whoo! as a moon child (and, actually, in the most literal sense, born on the longest night) I have like, an emotional connection to the moon, which is half the reason I love luna. the other half is, as you said, the nightmare moon arc, which is actually what sold me on mlp in the first place-
also! I just noticed we use the same art program (your art is definitely prettier than what I do, but, I'm pretty sure that's because I started digital art like a year ago and have been using this program since like, half a year ago, and have never learned how to art professionally beyond learning what perspective is and to use references. and also correct anatomy but I just disregard anatomy because I like drawing long arms and big eyes- maybe at some point I'll be able to draw at the same caliber you do, instead of my very hobbyistic approach to art-) and, as you said, yeah. being an artist and working on a thing only to have someone point out what you did wrong and where, even sometimes actively calling it bad and hiding that under "criticism" is so tough. which is why I lean more towards poetry, because occasionally I draw myself, and, as someone with hyperflexibility, I know that for my poses to be "natural" for myself, I'd have to be my own reference, because sometimes things I find comfortable are literally impossible for people less flexible (for example, my elbows can bend backwards if my shoulders roll a specific way, and I didn't even notice until I looked at a reference and realized my arms are almost constantly backwards-) and then people are like "why are the fingers like this" and I try to explain that it's just like that, and they insist so much that at some point I too start to believe I did something wrong and, well, the piece is completed now, you could've said something when I sent the inking stage because that's the one I find toughest and therefore am immensely proud of, but no, now that there's texture and shading you have to remind me that I can't draw fingers--
... sorry for the rant, I drew something I'm generally very proud of that took me about an entire day while also being sorta not in the mood, because pride month and as such I gotta make a new pfp with some pride stuff, but since all my pieces of myself have me with peace signs I added one there and nobody else has been happy with the piece over the fact I drew the fingers "too far apart" as though I can't use those two fingers to reach two opposite sides of a keyboard if I need to-
Uhhhh... Zephyr and Fluttershy are literally the same colors (mane to coat, coat to eyes, eyes to mane) and a lot of the siblings mentioned have in their designs this kind of a color game too! And the thing is, Hitch's mane color and Sunny's eye colors are similar, and they have similar markings. It's not that far of a stretch to suggest they are siblings too.

I know this feeling because this is happening to me, I feel as though I post and even though I have friends, no one says anything and most times it's insults, sadly. But I love this design
i only give people second chances and if they break it. idc about them anymore and just leave them and block them for good. i had a friend betray me and my friends and my ex friend said she doesn't care if we die. i quit playing the game she was playing online.

I liked her because Im also a younger sister who finds it hard to be in my older sisters shadow and wanting to rebel so I could be different more appreciated and it doesn't work out like it dose in our mind (Luna's and mine)

Fwiw, there is some debate about whether Luna could enter dreams before she was banished to the moon, or only after she came back. Does anyone know if either position is canon?
i noticed when youre colouring in the base colours with the select tool you manually colour the pixel gap it leaves. You can make sure there is no pixel gap, when you select the area you want click select in the bar at the top, then theres an option to increase your selection, and just increase it by 1 or 2 pixels
