Fun fact- In that Friendship through the Ages thing in Equestria Girls, Dashie represented 80s punk.
So I guess it’s canon she’s into punk rock.

The thing I always wondered about Rainbow Dash is, why'd they make her blue? Why didn't they pair her multicolored mane and tail with a body that was somewhere on the grayscale? I get that they probably figured black would be too edgy even with the rainbows (although that would be a total Pink Floyd vibe, which goes with what you said about Dashie being a punk rock fan), but she could have been white and the contrast would have still worked. "But Rarity is white!" So make _Rarity_ the blue one; or Fluttershy, and make Rarity gold. There are plenty of options.
Also thinking about it, Rainbow Dash might be able to get away with being a pegasus in my world's version of the show; the rainbows already would make cosplaying her difficult to "just do," so might as well throw wings on her and make things even more challenging.
Ikr I have an old OC that has rainbows in her mane and tail and she's brownish black. She looks gorgeous

Honestly, I liked the Generation 4 design for Rainbow Dash. I grew up watching the Gen 3, and I even had a figure of her. All the ponies in Gen 3 looked pretty much the same and had almost all the personalities were the same aside from maybe one thing. I remember Dash had Gen 4 Rarity's personality. So while sometimes the Gen 4 Dash annoyed me with her attitude, I loved her.
Your design is actually really cool! I would love to see her in action.
Nice touch on the leg stripes, I have seen horses with does some time if you look carefully at them. I am glad that G5 is planning to have more pinto coats like OC, such as: leopard, brindle, bay, lasing, blood mark. also like snips, stars, blaze painted face, stocking, bawled face one eye, badger and so forth.
Just as an info: "Raw wild Mustangs" in the US are originally domesticated horses brought from Spain. Which means they're feral, not wild ;)

I actually want to rant about something if that’s ok. I used to like MLP a lot when I was younger but I’ve grown out of it now. I’ve discovered so many cool and amazing shows such as Steven Universe, She-ra, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Owl House, etc. It made me realize how bad MLP is.. it’s just not that good. The thought of it just makes me cringe... I’ve fallen out of the fandom. I honestly have a lot of bad memories from the Internet when I was in the fandom 😳 But MLP to me is just too childish and girly with the whole “oOooH fRiEndShiP iS mAgiC. wE wiLL dEfeaT alL thESe viLLainS wiTh oUr fRieNdsHip wOoooOW.” Ugh, it just makes me sick. I really want G5 to be more mature, have some representation maybe and teach really important lessons other than fRieNdsHip. I wish there was another theme to the show. I want to recreate the story a bit and change the character designs too but I’m not good at that stuff lol. All I would change tho is adding more kingdoms, princesses and an ACTUAL STORY. Like maybe there’s a goal that the mane 6 has to achieve or there’s a big bad main villain who’s gonna destroy Equestria or something and it’s up to them to stop that villain. I just really love stories like that. But I doubt that’ll ever happen 😔 A girl can dream. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol. Sorry for the long rant, I just had to let this out and say it SOMEWHERE.
That was a creative reimagining. I ADORE Rainbow Dash's design in the actual show, so I thought a reimagining of Rainbow Dash was doomed to fail from the start. But you changed her enough that it felt like a new design rather than just a tweaking. Tweaking with perfection doesn't work, but redesigning from the ground up can go right. Good job.
Of course, I disagree with your assessment that Rainbow Dash's character was mishandled, or that her design contributed to her being hard to like. Rainbow Dash is best pony.

5:17 I'm reminded overwhelmingly of the episode where Rarity had her mane ruined and did a reinvention of her look where she leaned really hard on "punk rocker" while still having that distinctive Rarity femininity, and I can't figure out why the same basic idea has such a different read here. What I get from this reimagining of Rainbow Dash is an aging punk rocker with a 5 o' clock shadow. And that kind of breaks my heart here because I can see your vision and I fully endorse your direction, and I like the coat markings and the visual boldness of the reimagining. Because I'm not an artist, I can't actually identify the elements of the reimagining that tell me "unshaven male pony with a mohawk" instead of "tomboy athlete," and I deeply regret that because without being able to point to anything specific, I feel like I'm just complaining at you instead of being constructive.
Also, out of curiosity, is the large pink triangle meant to be a contrast element, or is it intended to have a strong and particular implication? Please don't misunderstand, there's nothing wrong with it at all, but I was just kind of curious about it.
*EDIT:* I just figured out what my brain was trying to tell me: the reimagining of Rainbow Dash gives me the "aging punk rocker with 5 'o clock shadow" vibe because it looks like her dad with a long mane and Rainbow's coat coloration. Same sort of blunted muzzle, and the same placement of the darkened markings on the face, and in the show Bow Hothoof (thanks Wikipedia) has a sort of rounded face. I'm sorry that it took me a few minutes

They didn't change her design, this was my own re-imagining for fun. 😂 Thank you for the honest opinion! I'll work on that.

@@FluffDragonArt Mmm... RD is best pone. Or, my favorite pony, at least. I don't think she was ruined in the later seasons. As early as "The Mysterious Mare Do Well," her ego was rubbing fans the wrong way. But it never bugged me, because I have a big ego myself. I relate to her flawed side more than the other ponies. Say Applejack in "The Last Roundup," for example. I COULD NOT ACCEPT her lying to her friends like that. They traveled all the way to Dodge Junction because they care about you, and you don't have the guts to tell them what happened? You broke a PINKIE PROMISE. That was SACRED to her, and you violated her trust.
Anyway, my point is, all the ponies have flaws, and maybe we each fail to get along with the pony whose flaws violate the principles we hold closest (integrity is one of mine, for example). But we get along with the pony whose flaws are closest to our own. So I don't think they mishandled Rainbow Dash's character. Some of the fans just weren't ready for her to be so real in her failures.

I though she was a overrated character
When people say it looks too different, there's an important word there. That word is "too". It's expected to look different, but there's a point where it may as well not be the same character.
I haven't seen the others, so I don't know how valid that particular bit of criticism is in the first place, but I felt it's important to completely understand the complaint regardless. Every word of a sentence is important; always remember that.

The shading on her muzzle makes her look masculine. Makes it hard to know if I'm looking at a r63 dash or not.

It has taken me 5 years of hard-core practice and study to get to this point. It's easier for me now, but it took a while to get here.
