...and it's experience, i swear i saw an old grey beard in a 1959 El Camino drive around two stuck 4x4's, you learn to recognize the baby powder sand, and only stop on downhills!
Fun video. Soft sand like that is hard, need power and paddles to do it easily. But I will say less wheel and more rubber would have helped with airing down.
It's no secret, air down your tires to at most 15 pounds, i drive my stock, 2016 Explorer Sport out there,..., and use caution at noon time, you can't see as good as you can in the morning and afternoon shadows,
Awesome video. Who organized this group ride through pismo beach. Who was the lady leading the group? I am looking to hit Oceano dunes next month and would love someone to help us and guide us on how to off road on the beach
Hey Richie, our group organized the event to Pismo. We just happened to connect someone from Jerk Pirates and showed us around. We have an event in Pismo this coming Aug.
We just got back from Pismo. You can drive on the beach with the 2wd but I wouldn't recommend driving in the dunes. My friend have a 2wd and got stuck multiple times is our camp site.
I grew up going to Pismo in a 2wd 94 Toyota SR5 22re with a mild suspension upgrade. You can go anywhere out in the dunes. Air down to 10 PSI. Never stop on an uphill. Make sure you keep your RPMs high. Some times you got to pin it to win it. Remember 2wd's are much lighter and also have less to break. Don't be afraid. Your truck is stronger then you think. Most importantly have fun.
I think Everyone had too much air in their tires..10-12psi would be very good. I like the music at the end of the video..I should not like it but I do..lol
Yes! I think some didn't airdown all the way and ended up getting stuck. We are going back to Pismo this coming weekend with like 25+ Vehicles. Thanks for watching brother!
you guys deffs need 2 way radios, some rugged radios. keep everyone from yelling on giving instructions. always just have 1-2 people telling you what to do on spotting. driver gets confused with a bunch of people telling him what to do.

Air Down, Watch for drop offs and don;t stop in soft sand and take off slow..
and you all should be required to have flags.

If you don't get stuck at least once at Pismo you ain't having fun!

Thanks for watching brother! I agree with everything that you said above.☝

The video is fine, but the woman is screaming. Annoying
