Good car, too bad GM is getting rid of carplay
Indeed. GM EVs no longer in my list because of this.
I’ve never used CarPlay, is this a big deal for those who haven’t or have only had limited use of it?
@@ALMX5DP itll change your life
I see this compliant on a lot of post. However, I've owned this vehicle for the past month and it's not that big of a deal. It makes sense that companies will move toward a dedicated/single integration, in this case it's Google. The system is doing all the backend heavy lifting. It knows exactly the charge of the vehicle, changes in driving habits etc, to calculate distance to a charger. You just install any of your current apps from the Google store, or you can always plug your phone in, via usb, and gain access to your phones apps. Apple and Android can never offer the full range and seamless integration. Same reason Telsa doesn't offer these options either. Chevy also includes 8 years of Googles premium service at no additional charge.
@@classikz It's not that serious
You lost me at no apple carplay. GM wants to get into the data broker field and I have enough of those in my life already... Hard pass
Not needed. See Redline review as he had Siri working while driving the Blazer EV.
I purchased the 2024 Blazer RS for 47,095. I have received many complements on the look of the car, it is a great looking car. The interior has a two tone black/red, very nice and tech is good. I don't believe any EV will compare to this car at $47,095 from my time looking at other EV's. I would highly recommend to go out and look and drive the Blazer and compare, GM did a good job with this EV.
I have a 2023 Bolt EUV and I love it. Apple CarPlay works great !!!!
I was thinking of upgrading to the Blazer or Equinox Evs. No Apple CarPlay - no Blazer or Equinox EV purchase.
that charging port door . how did it make it to production ?
What's wrong with it?
Wee bit slow. Clunky on the lyriq @@Chase-simba1
It’s nice that many of the controls are easy to access. But again, the very high price, the poor EV charging infrastructure overall, and the lack of Apple/Android connectivity will make it difficult to sell at high volumes.
I saw an RS for the first time today. I thought it was a really cool car, but certainly not minimalistic like my 3. Tesla is still probably best with menus, but that's to be expected from a software company that makes cars as opposed to a car company that happens to use software. I could be talked into this vehicle but the price is pretty high.
American without engine and transmission! I think I will try.
I think you should run..fast !!!
"I'll even throw in the model y".....lol really? Glad you included the market leader and they all have only one. Where is the Mustang X Y Z????
A very attractive package, good job GM.
But no Apple CarPlay? Big thumbs down from me…
Interior buttons and physical climate controls in an EV?
Thank you GM for actually listening to consumers. Although no Apple Carplay is a bit scummy.
imagine building an economical, good EV... and then ruining sales by doing something petty as removing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Very cool but hopefully they don't all come with red vents and trim everywhere.
Note to other auto journos: this is what a concise, informative auto review looks like!
Yeah. This is as long as a consumer review needs to be. Steve Hammes also does a great job being concise.
About time Good old GM is getting out of hole with young and innovative people.
🎉🎉 JUST REMEMBER check your warranty about battery replacement costs and conditions...THE SLIGHTEST THING YOU HIT CAN VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND YOUR CAR DEEMED UNSAFE.....often times in minor accidents electric cars have to be TOTALED because of the battery
That's not my problem, that's the insurance company's problem.
@@cheesetomatoes when your insurance premium is $300 a month it can be your problem
@@cheesetomatoes It's your problem when your premium doubles because of it
@@DevThDude I purchased my EV RS just over a month ago. I went from a 2022 Ford Explorer ST to this and my insurance went up $60/year (both had a very similar sticker price). Of course everyone should check with their own insurance company, but it was comparable to my ICE vehicle.
Fantastic video Lyn!😸
Beautiful car! If I had easy access to charging stations, I'd give this a real hard look. Great review, Lynne.
Same platform as the Honda prologue?
Yes, but the platform was fully developed by GM (although I'm sure Honda made some smaller changes, like suspension tuning).
No one thinks getting rid of carplay is a good idea. Hard pass
No Android Auto. No deal.
Forgot to mention the Nissan Ariya and Toyota BZ4X and Subaru Solterra and Honda prologue
Seems like a good vehicle. I like the looks and am excited to spot them on the road. I prefer the minimalism of my 2020 Model 3 interior and don't find the lack of buttons a hindrance. But I don't have the length of driving history of others. Model 3 is basically my first car. So I guess I did not have muscle memory for such things. But i can understamd the sentiment as mine still has stalks, the news ones won't >_>, and I like having stalks.
Also GM has been buying chargers from EVgo which from my 2nd hand experience are really reliable. And are working with Pilot FlyingJ to get a lot in the ground across the United States. So hopefully between that and getting access to Tesla super chargers people should be in good shape soon. And as always, if you just charge at home, do that.
To the comment of EVs on dealer lots, there are a lot more gas cars so...let's not jump to conclusions on that. Especially with direct the buyer happening a lot with EVs, they are probably showing up to homes instead of sitting on lots.
Lyn, what watch are you wearing?
Nice looking vehicle.
That red interior is a bit harsh on the eyes though.
lol GM is loosing people because it feels it’s Apple and know what people want
Buttons are good for manufacturers who don’t know how to make good technology. If it works well or it’s automated, why would you need a button near by?
Can’t wait to see if these get more affordable and reliable before the Government subsidies for building them and buying them run out.
No CarPlay is laughable
Love this design, but it’s a Chevy, calling build quality and reliability into question. I wish Toyota made something this sexy.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video looking forward to seeing this ev crossover here according to the Canadian website it won't arrive here in spring summer or fall in 2024 depending upon which model you choose I like it has real exterior door handles and a rear wiper😮
Here we go: other auto manufacturers slowly but steadily phasing out CarPlay/AAuto in favor of making their own thing, I imagine, so they can start charging a subscription fee to use Their services. They could seriously have done this once EV sales start increasing. Doing it before only makes me look at others with CarPlay/AAuto imho.
Also that HUGE middle/lack of extra front storage space inside is hurting me a little bit. Especially the days I need to clean my side seat for others to ride in.
Tesla's tech is based on Linux. This Blazer EV maybe the same.
Did they ever stop the "Stop sales order"?
I think Chevrolet designed the front of the LT to make it less desirable by not putting the black panel to simulate a radiator grille. But they accidentally made it look better! That's the best looking one. But red interior? Um.. would you buy a red sofa? However, ya gotta love those air vents and HVAC buttons.
The pricing is not bad plus it qualify for the EV credit.
GM has to get over the air updates right this time. My 2019 Equinox had over the air updates but there were almost none to be had, no real improvements are all.
Nice wagon... Glad to see them coming back lol
Would be a nice car if it was priced reasonably. I really hope they can keep the price down on the equinox EV
I don't think the Blazer EV rivals the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, VW ID4, and Toyota bZ4X at all. Chevy's one rival to them would be the smaller and compact Equinox EV. Instead, as a midsize muscle EUV akin to the discontinued Camaro muscle car, would be aimed after other electric midsizers such as the Jeep Wagoneer S, Acura ZDX EV, and Rivian R2S.
Good to see a new car without a stupid glass roof 👍
Wow what an arrow shot to Tesla.
Prologue looks better. ZDX looks the best but the interior looks so plain for a premium brand.
GM will still win. GM developed both of those cars and use GM Parts for brakes, wheels, etc
No CarPlay ? Ha I will pass
Is she a paid spokesperson for GM?
“I’ll even through in the Model Y from Tesla…. It’s the only one they’ve got right now…”
Tell me which manufacturer of the other models you just mentioned have more than one electric suv? I’ll wait….
As if the Model Y is the lesser than vehicle. Oh goodness gracious… 🤡
If it was under $37k, yes. GM inflates the price and then some to take that federal rebate for themselves.
Nice exterior 😊
Since EV's are the choice of the younger buyers, who use tech a lot, how many of them will forgo Apple Carplay or Android Auto for GM's own interface, which so far no journalist has been able to test? My guess - far less than GM management thinks.
It seems GM management has forgotten its history in the 1980's, when it went from a world leader in products to profit at all costs model and if not for all of its loyal, but ill-educated buyers blindly buying their inferior products, it would have gone bankrupt.
Now how to get it to europe?🤷🏼♂️
Beware of GM software. Fraught with problems.
Kerrrreen 👍👍👍
RIP Blazzer... this one lasted less time then the Pinto
Change my mind? Not at those prices
If any vehicle is screaming for a cheaper LS trim, it's this Blazer EV. With rims smaller than 19", NO freakin' sunroof that eats into headroom, and memory seats? Fuggetaboutit.
I had the pleasure of driving one of these last week. I got to drive the AWD RS package. I have to admit. I loved it. Its was fast, sporty and just overall fun to drive.
Nice to see Chevy getting into the EV game.
They were one of the first. If you count GM EV1, they were THE first.
@@Josh-179 thanks. For the reminder.
Very bad camera angles snd the lens used, can't get the complete idea of car shape. Hope you will rectify it.
Looking like Kia Sportage
All I hear is huge amounts of road noise, and in this day and age, that's Highly unacceptable.
Plus with Chevy not having very good quality ratings, this is a hard pass.
It launched before 2023 end to Bara can collect her bonus after taking taxpayers money. I doubt anyone can find one for sale.
Looks like a Lexus knockoff
GM has stopped making ev for a reason
Is was nice that it didn’t breakdown on you while filming this review. From what I’ve read early adopters are going through software glitch hell. It’s so bad Chevy has halted sales! If they haven’t figured out the software upon mass release, what else have they rushed?!?
Perhaps I’m experiencing schadenfreude for them dumping Apple CarPlay because they think it’s “unsafe”. I guess GM feels that their software is ultimately safer because it bricks their vehicle so you can’t drive it to even get in an accident.
Chevy: Built “Like a Rock” … or should I say “Like a Brick!”
GM actually were the pioneers of EV vehicles when they made EV1 back in 1996. Then they came out with Volt and then Bolt all excellent vehicles. I would say they are way ahead of everyone except Tesla. Their vehicles are for some reason not hyped up enough
GM actually had an EV before the EV1. They made an EV S-10 pickup back in ‘93-94. I got to see it first hand just after development. The entire bed was full of 12v car batteries.
Everyone should also watch the Consumer Reports talking cars episode on this car. Also, GM has put a stop sell on this car because it is such a s@#$ show.
😂😂😂 GM issues stop sale on all Blazer EV! Try again.
I love the comment on the Tesla Model Y “the only one they got right now”, first off, they also have a Model X, and oh btw the Model Y is literally the best selling vehicle in the world for 2023. 😂
Gm products are made for women. Gm quality is suspect short warranty. Conveniently left out video
black and red is the worst interior color combination. Its hideous. Chevy do better.
Well... Hmmm.... is this an ad?
An ad to sell this pos?
this thing is sooooo over priced, just get a lyriq
And you should learn to use capital letters!
EVs aren’t selling right now because all OEMs have announced their switching to Tesla chargers, but haven’t made Tesla-compatible vehicles yet.
Buying a non-Tesla EV right now is crazy… stranded assets.
I don't like EV's
I SWEAR FK EV DONT WANT THAT SHIT I WILL STAY WITH ALL MY GAS CARS
Nice video but it seem like they want us all to drive EV vehicles!!! I'd love to own one BUT......make these things phucking affordable!!!
FK EV Hate It
Wow, what a clueless "review". Everybody else in the world is trashing this EV nightmare. This video plays like market-speak propaganda.
Don’t do it! Save yourself the major headache of buying one of these poorly built EV’S. Go online, research, and learn about the very poor quality and the many problems people are having in just two months of ownership.
Ya'll are so biased against Tesla it isn't even funny.
Another failure..
Hahahahhahaha for sure
