So the car drives great. Its smooth has great styling most of the issues were fixed. The biggest complaints are seating (which to be honest is hard for you to review due to your situation), the center console (which is far more useful than equinox imho), it makes a loud beep, it doesn't have AC/AA (neither does equinox), its speakers suck (fair point), and the turn signal has an issue. It feels to me that there is a lot of personal bias wrapped up in tbis review. For the 5k difference you dont get ventilated seats power folding mirrors electronic rear view mirror no charging pad for your phone heated back seats cheaper looking interior with the equinox.
Good afternoon and happy 4th of July. I have several EV including a Bolt EUV with super cruise love it I have a Volt , ELR and I have had my Blazer EV since April so I know a little something about EVs. I would highly recommend the Blazer EV tech is great but more importantly it gets above the EPA range you can charge to 80% in about 20 minutes it is a great road tripping EV I’ve put 4K miles on it already going to Florida next month only draw back for me is I couldn’t get super cruise. I recommend you go out and test drive an EV everyone has there own opinions people like me are committed to them my Silverado EV is on order😊 Have a wonderful holiday Mark
Good Review.... Especially for those that have damaged backs, we need to know specific details. So many lack empathy for us that have damaged backs. Waiting to see your Review on Silverado EV 🙏🏻. As for the Chevy Infotainment...love my 2019 Equinox system, Navigation is spot on every time, I don't pay a subscription. My phone works great all connected through My Chevrolet App to the infotainment system.... I haven't seen any review discussing EV connection through the My Chevrolet app as they have EV options on the App. Hate Android Auto as it was useless in the several non-GM vehicles that I drove in 2022, they were new 2022 vehicles with no navigation. Android Auto Navigation isn't even close to My Chevy Navigation. I missed turning twice because of the delay ftom Android Auto map. My Navigation gives me several propmpts & lane changes prompts well in advance. With my Equinox the Navigation is great across borders in North America. Too me sounds like 8 years free subscription would be for the apps, as my Vehicle gives me the option to download my navigation map. I don't use subscription music services because of the 🤬 rules. I downloaded all my music to usb stick which is so much easier.
Anyone who disses this car has never been in one! The photos and videos don't do it justice. Goodbye to the old days- GM knocked it out of the park with this design. We got the Blazer EV RS RWD and LOVE IT!
Thanks for the detailed review, especially about the discomfort and pain caused by the seating and headrest design and inflexibility. I had liked the look of the Blazer EV, but it’s clear that my own back condition would not benefit from this design flaw.
Only problem I have is the Google system as the loss of Apple CarPlay is tough! I was able to shut off the funny light show on the front end so I don’t get EV hate! Lots of space inside but I would never get anything without the digital rear view camera so it has no problem seeing out the rear and the overhead camera is great! The Cadillac has the Apple CarPlay and android and is more luxurious but we have poor friends so my wife wouldn’t allow me to get it! I love the AWD so I get no tire spin that I got in other EV’s I have owned!
A good and honest review. 👍 Others have found the seat comfort good, not great but good. As far as the seat comfort you may be the exception to the rule. As far as the lack of apple carplay and Android auto you knew that going in. Hopefully if enough people complain about it they'll rethink it. Getting a little nitpicking.
Thanks for the review - this is on our short list to look at. Hope they sort the turn signal issue cuz that would drive me nuts. What’s the tow rating do you know?
This was suppose to be my next vehicle. Then they ruined everything by removing Apple CarPlay. On top of that they want to charge for the google maps. Hope they come to their senses one day.
Consumers are spending hard earned dollars on a very expensive vehicle. Your reporting and feedback is extremely important to avoid buyers regret. Once you commit it's costly to trade and get out of a vehicle. Probably best to wait and get these issues worked out.
I agree. If I was spending $50k on a vehicle, I would want to know everything about it. I could then determine if these are aspects worth considering or not.
The center Console is not bad at all. Have you seen the console on the Jeep Grand Cherokees?? They have a door with the usb connections inside that cannot close either. Hasn't been closed since my Wife picked it up lol
I think you need to actually use the google system a bit. I find it does everything I need and can easily listen to all my music on my iPhone as well as all my music apps. The google system has no problem reading and replying to texts. I’m a So able to talk to Siri by simply touching a button. I’ve got 4000 on my Blazer so far and love it. The only thing I’m not happy about is no front park assist. Mine cost 47000 not 55. Other than your personal problem with the seat, you are really kinda nitpicking
Soon to be a new owner here. Just curious, do you use Apple Music? If so, what is the best what you have found use that app? Is bluetooth the only way? Can you use the screen to change songs/playlists? Thanks!
Normally I try not to add a comment when I'm reading these things. Cause I find some of them amusing. I understand this is from his personal view and opinion. This doesn't hold a glass of water, but to whine about the seats. You have a back problem, that's not the seats thats you. Then he complains about the storage in the center console. Again, it's on preference. I like the way the center console is laid out better in the blazer, then the equinox. Heck The blazer whole interior Is better looking then the Equinox EV. The audio charging ping when you plug the vehicle up, It's not too loud, most of GM vehicles do that. Then he complains about the rear view mirror how difficult it is to see out? Try driving a Corvette. It's the same thing, but most people use the video mirror camera system better view. And last but not least AC/AA. Yes, I complained about that being an issue when I made my recommendations, but after using GM Google Assistant program. I really don't have to touch the entertainment screen. You can control your seats, A/C, maps everything by voice command and never touch that screen. My only complaint would be the vehicle does feel heavy while you're driving it compared to driving a lyric.
ok thank you for the review. we were seriously in a debate if we should get the Blazer ev or equinox ev. the main concern was that we want to go single motor (for the longer range and cheaper insurance) the thing is that the Blazer single motor is RWD where the equinox is FWD. we live in canada where we can get serious snow. Since AWD is something we really dont wants, FWD is the way to go. Second of all, your video showed us really good dislike which were really important for us. all that being said, we are going with an equinox EV.
I don't foresee GM going back on their no AA/AC choice anytime soon. I also don't know if next year will bring a refresh or not. They may continuously update the platform over time with a styling refresh for 2026MY or 2027MY.
A very short trial period of 8 years for the Google services. Yes. Outside of the front visibility being a bit limited with the large hood, you sound like you’re whining about nothing. Complaining about too deep of storage, or even more storage that you can’t even see? Don’t use the storage then. Can’t see out the back window well enough? Not unique to Blazer, plus the rear view mirror cam is a nice offset that even Cybertruck doesn’t provide. Even more, all the blind spot monitoring in the Blazer. Illuminated warning lights in the mirrors, seat vibrates on the side as well that there is traffic if you try to change lanes into someone beside you. Also you don’t need to keep your OnStar subscription to use a the apps on your screen including the navigation. Not sure what you’re talking about in your response. I own 2 of these. I should know.
It looks like GM changed this compared to their ICE models that only have a very short trial. I'll have to confirm the data connection that's required for Google integration remains active past the 6 month mark.
@@CarsMadeSimple Likely taking delivery of a RS RWD in the coming weeks and everything I have been told is google maps is included for 8 years. Of course would prefer lifetime especially when they remove alternatives (AA/AC). If I find out that this functionality is only included for 6 months I will be passing on Blazer EV.
I bought a Blazer Ev 3 weeks ago. It has been great so far no problems or complaints. Love my Ev.
Great to hear! Thanks for sharing 😊

Actually you DO get Ventilated front seats and heated rear seats in the Equinox for less money.

I TOTALLY AGREE with your assessment of the driving position, head rest issue, and tilt wheel not coming out far enough.
Seems like you're the first! Haha
@@CarsMadeSimpleJustin...always love to hear your opinions especially about the seats...no ifs, ands, or butts. Hehehe.... 🙃
I test drove a blazer EV rs this week and i loved it. I’ll be ordering a 2025 in November for my birthday. It’s the most beautiful EV to date.

Yes, I believe the headrest was the main issue. Unfortunately, these do not adjust back and forth like some GM vehicles typically do.
It boggles the mind that a Google based system wouldn't at least have Android auto

Smooth driving technique will eliminate any bounce or jounce when coming to a stop.

Google maps "trial" is 8 years.
It appears so for EV's but their ICE vehicles are 6 months. My mistake.
@@CarsMadeSimple Easy mistake to make. GM/Onstar are about as clear as mud on this.
Equinox is too small.

I never thought I'd see lack of Apple CarPlay as a dealbreaker, but here we are.
Don't need car play or android auto any more. The google apps are great
GM is not Tesla. Do t hold your breath on software updates. GM takes your money and your forgotten
