This review was great except he was wrong about SO many details. The Model Y is a measurable roomier interior Model Y has more range and performance for less money DAS is way better and cheaper in a Tesla The Blazer EV looks great and has very comfortable seating, but it’s very small and has no 3rd row option. The Bolt EV is faster the the 2LT and 1RS and has almost identical range even with 24 fewer kWh TFL totally ignored the DISMAL charging curve and terrible 150kW peak. Tesla has 250kW and much better curve. If you hate yourself as much as you hate Elon then this is a great option. I personally bought a 2RS. But without massive discounts from the dealership and GM this is hot garbage.
This looks like a new and refined bolt. However, with the slower charge speeds, price and lack of interior space the Y is still a much better pick. Unless you're just a Tesla hater it just doesn't make sense
GM's (and other legacy automakers) EV strategy: make a mediocre vehicle (and this is mediocre on every metric), charge a butt-ton and then wonder why no one is buying them. Genius!
Model Y long range. All wheel drive, more storage and cargo area, more passenger room, faster, infinitely better charging network, no greedy dealership mark ups, at home service for general maintenance and some repairs, most American made car you can buy, highest rated for crash safety, and most important not a GM… there is a reason the model y is the third best selling car in the US.

I think it could be a difference in how they calculate the volume. AFIAK, or been able to determine, Tesla calculation is based on filling the vehicle to roof as if you filled it with water and then measured the volume of water. It really feels like a placebo: It'll take credit for anything the FWD could have done just fine, and lit will fail at even the most trivial AWD use cases.
I wish someone came up with a proper test for the capabilities of this AWD, and find if there is any circumstance in which this AWD provides value over FWD.
Very beautiful car ❤
This car, at $60k+, is overprice compared to the competition. GM really is not understanding the market.
With the 7500 Tax Credit it is the same price as the ICE Blazer RS.
@@Nebula1701 "Competition" meaning other EVs in this class.
Nathan I love your reviews❤️👌🏻
As long as it isn't made in Korea like the Gas version, then it is all good.
Mexico like top rated Equinox and Terrain.
The skateboard platform is very common in new dedicated EV platforms, this vehicle is far from revolutionary design
GM haven't heard of LFP batteries yet I guess😂
K5 Blazer > Trailblazer
Geely’s reveal new LEVC L380 electric MPV/Van
The Electric Viking
For $60k, there are a lot of other choices.
In Australia RS is Rat Shit which also means unfixable or very broken.
150kw is abysmal for the AWD RS charging speed
Probably better looking than Honda EV but not as good as Acura offering 😂
GM is never going to make the less expensive EVs since they lose money on each. The batteries made here so far are not able to scale.
The $30K Equinox would like a word with you. So would the current Bolt EV and new Ultium based Bolt.
The infotainment system is atrocious along with the lack of AA and Apple Carplay.
Bro 60k for a Chevy midsize SUV no thanks. Even for an EV Model Y offers more for less
This review was great except he was wrong about SO many details.
The Model Y is a measurable roomier interior
Model Y has more range and performance for less money
DAS is way better and cheaper in a Tesla
The Blazer EV looks great and has very comfortable seating, but it’s very small and has no 3rd row option.
The Bolt EV is faster the the 2LT and 1RS and has almost identical range even with 24 fewer kWh
TFL totally ignored the DISMAL charging curve and terrible 150kW peak. Tesla has 250kW and much better curve.
If you hate yourself as much as you hate Elon then this is a great option. I personally bought a 2RS. But without massive discounts from the dealership and GM this is hot garbage.
Great review, but no way I would buy GM EV
Why not? I have a newer GM car and I love it
Was Chevy inspired by South Park Season 5 Episode 11 for the massaging seat warnings? Actually, Mr. Garrison and Elon are not dissimilar.
Thumbs down, it's so slow. You cannot compare to the model Y, not even the dual motor.
Kia EV9 would be comparable, seems close with wheel base etc.
Nothing in its category? The Y has wayyyy more interior space. Not sure of the actual wheelbase differences, but that interior looks tiny compared.
This looks like a new and refined bolt. However, with the slower charge speeds, price and lack of interior space the Y is still a much better pick. Unless you're just a Tesla hater it just doesn't make sense
So like did you not get the memo? These are dark days EV sales. It’s possible that its 15 minutes of fame are diminishing.
Meanwhile EV sales top a record 1-million!
Fact check where you get your information from before you post. EV sales are actually rising.
Too expensive. Tesla is going to have it for lunch. The size difference doesn’t justify the extra cost.
Never seen someone drive that close to the wheel. Move the seat back and relax .
Not bad for a $30k car. At $60? Nope.
Ferus
GM's (and other legacy automakers) EV strategy: make a mediocre vehicle (and this is mediocre on every metric), charge a butt-ton and then wonder why no one is buying them. Genius!
GM sells a EV and ICE side-by-side. People love the Blazer RS. The Blazer EV just came out last month.
But also no center speedometer and ugly styling and that fake Tesla leather is horrible
Even when a Model 3 is less than a Camry like it is in California, I would not subject to myself to driving either.
The Blazer is slooooow. A comparable Model Y would blow its doors off
@@WJYK Tesla will fall apart before the Blazer EV.
@@normt430
Sure. Thats why GM just stopped sales of the Blazer EV because it had so many software failures and fried itself charging. Lets not forget that the Bolt literally caught on fire and the batteries had to be replaced in a massive recall. But lets keep thinking GM is still awesome.
Infotainment screens are boring. Wish every reviewer spent less time on them
Great video review. EVs are fantastic but just not practical. Living in the DC area and being middle class there is no way I could have an EV. Living in an apartment or even townhouse does not even allow for home charging. Hybrids please tell the automotive companies hybrid please. I am all for phasing away from full gasoline but hybrid is the answer. 3rd row hybrids are needed....
Great review though.
There was a Chevy Volt for a while. Apparently nobody bought it. And some of those who did never plugged it in 😅
If you live in DC how do you even park downtown? Unless you work in the suburbs. Uber is the answer in DC and e-bike
@@MariuszChrthe 2012 Volt and on matched Prius sales until Volt resign then double the Prius in sales after 2016 before ending in 2018 and the 2017 Bolt EV introduced.
No Spare tire...pass....
That AWD interior is just bad.
While Blazer EV is 5 inches longer than the Model Y, the Y has more cargo capacity. 59.1 cu ft vs 76 cu ft.
But looks so much better. It's a trade off
@@MariuszChr yeah, Model Y is probably the ugliest in its class. I think the Ioniq 5 and Mach E look pretty good. Blazer EV is decent looking but everything else about it isn't great.
@@officialyasir yeah, subjective matter. Pick what gives you joy the most. Chevy went into looks more than practically recently. I am a looks and speed guy myself. But sure, some might want the most practical drive. Like a minivan which I sit in only if I really have to 🤣
I think it could be a difference in how they calculate the volume. AFIAK, or been able to determine, Tesla calculation is based on filling the vehicle to roof as if you filled it with water and then measured the volume of water. GM and others follow SAE measurements which do not really measure “true volume” but rather a volume based on on some standard length, width, height measurements, at specific locations of the interior. Also, the Y listed volume includes the frunk space.
They should call the AWD version interior the Gamer Trim lol So tacky!
The type of person who buys an electric chevy is also the type of person who doesnt know what RWD or AWD are
I like Nathan's sense of humor but I gave thumbs down for Ev
This is tflev? This is where they cover EVs specifically.
What a fool 😂 You’re in the TFLEV channel haha
Probably not the channel for you then
lol your thumbs down only hurts tfl
I bet you are fun at parties
