Hi! I'm a 3rd culture kid. I was born and lived in Japan before graduating kindergarten. As soon as I graduated kindergarten, me and my family had to move to a middle east country. At first, I went to a Japanese school but I had decided to go to international school where I understood no one at first because I had no idea how to speak English. I was of course treated differently but I was lucky since 90% of the population of that country are foreigners so I had no teasing problems about different cultures. Now I lived here for 8 years and this is my 9th year. Middle school is pretty easy for me now, I'm doing pretty well at English classes and that was all thanks to the reminder that many other people are also in the same situation. It really did make me less sorry for myself and learn to live.

There's probably just not a word for Japanese in French considering the fact that the Chinese were the first Northeast Asians Europeans came across. I'm Asian and in my language there's not a word for Scottish, Irish, German, etc. There's only a word for European.

@@Catladycatherine I understand, but the thing is that there is more Chinese than other Asians in France (for exemple, I live in France and I have chineses friends but I don't have japenese or vietnamese friends because they are less present in the country), so some people just call asians "chineses". When talk about people with slanying eyes, I say "asian" but there are people who would say "chinese" (sorry if there is spelling mistakes in my comment, I don't speel english very well😅)
I am Japanese, Swiss, Italian, Chinese and live in Switzerland rip me I belong nowhere. For a time I felt like I didnt have a home. And yes I was insulted as chinese, riceeater etc. Now I understood that I should be proud of who I am. Some Asians consider mixed kids as beautiful. Well lots of asians. And I dont have a "homecountry" my home is in my heart and the heart of others.

When I was little I wished to have brown or blonde hair and blue eyes too because all of my friends looked like that. People called me Chinese and made jokes about me and I hated it because I didn't know how to respond to that.
And now that I have grown up, I learned to love and be proud about origin, that I am able to speak more than 5 languages and that I know so much about two cultures I adore. I hope that everyone who is in a similar situation will realise this too.
The thing is, I didn't and don't mind to be called Chinese.
Because I can understand it when people mistakenly think I am Chinese. But making fun of me for where they think I'm from? China is a beautiful country and so are the people there. I don't get it seriously🤦♀️

I am a Bridging person... I am stuck between Romania and Belgium.
Romania is my home country and i love ut so much, i live in it because of my loyalty towards it.
Belgium is the country where i traveled and lived. The memories of the time i wss there warmaed my heart. My father remained there and so, i had to leave everithing behing because i could never be one of the Belgium kids.
But she’s not even French she just lived there.
Which makes her French. Not ethnically but nationality wise, yes. Nationality = the country you are a citizen of. If you're white but live in Japan your nationality would be Japanese but your ethnicity would not be.
