    Stuart, How I wish I had found you 20 years ago. I was instructed to use the wrong grip which caused big problems. Thank you !!!!!

    Love this. It gives me an inkling of how I might go about remedying poor ball flight on the course. Unless I just play with what I have that day.

      Playing with what you have on any given day is a proven way of maximising performance, unless it’s really a strong bend. Minimising bend is doable, but completely changing shape is not advised. Glad you enjoyed. 😄

    Stuart, I know I'm asking a lot of questions at the minute, but it's only because I'm absolutely loving and binge watching these videos. You are making a lot of sense mate because I'm remembering times that things worked for me and it was when I was pressuring in the ways you are talking about! I shot a 66 (-4) on a tough course, 69 (-3) weeks later on an away course and my one swing thought was pressure the handle down and away from my head on the backswing and down and away from my head through the ball (the theraband move)! The reason I stopped was because of lessons from the same source that gave me something else that didn't match up and had me transition over the top, steepening the shaft.
    Anyway, my next question here is when you talk about trajectory and shaping the ball, how to you recommend going about that after you've created a stock shot and a fairly neutral path etc.? I know my questions on posture and this one probably require videos all of their own!

       @GoodGolfCoaching will do mate. I've seen what you've said on some videos that more down pressure with the hands leads to more angle of attack, but what I can't find is how to vary it. Like once you've got a 3 to 5 degree downstrike with a 7 iron how do you go about hitting a stinger or a high ball from there when you need to go low with wind or go high over a front bunker etc.?

    We are going to need some sort of index for these great vids. Have you done anything on how or why someone would hit down on a driver? Moving ball forward just results in holding the face open to stop it going right (I'm a lefty)

    Brilliant again. I’m a scholar of yours. Ok , been to the range . Starting to control my irons superbly , even showed my pal with a weaker grip my yardage was 5-10 yards less. Shaping the draw lovely. 4-5-6-7-8 irons sweet . With 9& wedges harder to turn . Not a problem. Main problem the driver. I tend to hit it better with a weaker grip with the strong grip I tend to come around and hook it lower . Is that ball positioning? Or possibly rotating to much on follow through

    Great video again, my new favourite YT instructor💪 question for you. If straight is the hardest shot, why try to hit a draw or a fade instead? When the room for error of hitting the face to path correctly for a straight outcome is logically the same room for error for a draw or a fade? So why is trying to hit it straight not recommended?
    Maybe another video?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Год назад

      Hitting straight, only rewards dead straight. Hitting with bend, the ball is swinging in to the target, and if the ball doesn’t straddle the flag stick, you always feel the ball is getting closer to the target. Nobody worries too much how much bend, as long as it doesn’t straddle the flag. Where as, when you hit straight and it starts at your flag, any type of bend the ball will be moving away from your target. Hope that helps 😊

    Very clear instruction. I have a tendency to turn my shoulder simultaneously with the arms so when I focus on clubface I will hit a duck hook. I believe you will say that throwing the shoulders with the arms is a symptom. What is the cure and what is the best video for this? I am working on pulling the grip toward the golfball. I have a strong grip and am working on a method to control face direction. Thanks for great instruction.

    Biggest thing I’m struggling with, club face opening up which of course is worse the longer the club. Working on both grip and ball position this afternoon ironically. See what it does when I have my next trackman lesson in a couple of weeks.

      Hopefully you've seen the Grip Series Matthew, unless you have a huge angle of attack, or worked heavily on moving the club path inside out, the grip will 8/10 sort the slice. If you feel the grip is correct, check out my "one drill that will transform your iron play" video... HTH

    Stuart, having some non-zero face to path value is going to happen most of the time but at what values do you think it makes it difficult to play good golf? In other words what range of values should we be targeting?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Год назад

      Hi John.. A range of -2 to -5 with irons is more than playable... With woods, if you keep within this zone of F2P range "strike" on the face will have more of an affect on ball curvature than F2P. Hope that helps.

    Why do you look at face to path and not club path and face angle as two separate data points rather than face to path as 1 data point

    • @GoodGolfCoaching

      Hi Mike - in all my videos I mainly reference AoA, Club Path, Face Angle and F2P. In this series, I am detailing the relevance and application of all the data points in isolation. Hope that helps.
