14:17 jerboa deserves that s rank, it makes deserts sooo much easier to get through. You bring some pocket seeds, say hi to that lil guy, and suddenly you're the goddamn flash. Combine it with a speed three potion and roadrunner boots and all of a sudden you're breaking the sound barrier.
the platypus being super rare is actually really accurate. I'm australian, I've lived on multiple billabongs my entire life (im 18), my parents, both 46 has also lived on multiple lands with billabongs their whole lives, mum has seen 1 platypus, myself, my little brothers and my dad have never seen one in our lives.
I mean hey, the fact that even the lowest tier mobs are still "alright" and not straight-up bad, and so many are still concentrated in B, A and even S just tells you that this mod means business with the quality of its additions.
You know what is missing in Alex's mobs, steller's sea eagles, they're basically like bald eagles, but larger, with a bigger beak and casually victimise bald eagles on occasion. Also yeah, frilled sharks and every species of hammerhead sharks (except one, the great hammerhead shark) don't really attack humans, so, it's normal for them to not be hostiles.
This mod already does a pretty good job at making the world feel more alive, though I do really hope more extinct animals like wooly mammoths, wooly rhinos, Tasmanian tigers, etc are added to the mod in future.
Especially with the Sniffer becoming a thing, it would be fantastic to have chance of uncovering means of getting them, while having an extremely rare chance of finding them in their natural biome.
For the shark, beign neutral mobs is totally normal, in real life shark atack humans extremely rarely, there is a little fun fact about shark, between 1958 and 2016 there were 2,785 confirmed unprovoked shark attacks around the world, of which 439 were fatal. Between 2001 and 2010, an average of 4.3 people per year died from shark attacks.while the coconuts got an estimated average of 150 deaths per year worldwide, so sharks are 35 times less deadly than coconuts to humans.

wow there is so much personality here (both the mobs and the commentary!) i love the Tully Monster and Tardigrade ones in the End. neat little rare animal references also i love that it is partly a shtpost. the Mungus and Dancing Cockroach are just glorious i kinda want to play this mod now and try to collect all the mobs. i was never really into mods but this seems like it would be really fun to spend some time with
I've seen a lot of mods about people adding real animals to the overworld to give it more immersion, but I haven't seen anyone try to add biologically accurate animals to each dimension. So im creating my own animal kingdom for the nether and end, so far I have added 12 mobs to the nether and 15 mobs to the end, each of them has different uses, interacts with each other in a unique way and it makes sense in the dimension's own context. I don't know about you but I don't like that all nether mobs prior to 1.16 were immune to lava but the Piglins, a society of supposedly "more advanced" beings and they are not immune to lava, which is basically the most abundant resource in the entire dimension, my mod tries to rescue that concept in the form of living beings that are either completely immune to lava, or evolved to use the environment of the dimension on their advantage. Among them is the Hellsteel Snail, a gastropod that uses a hard steel shell capable of resisting such high temperatures, and even capable of surf on lava to escape while being really slow in land, which they need to collect their food, the "Pyro-fruit", a new fruit that grows on the "hadesian forest" a new biome of silicon-based "trees".
Whenever I play with this modpack I almost always aim to breed a massive hoard of crows so I can have a giant swarm of them wherever I go, and watch them completely demolish mobs that even look at me funny. Like it's that one movie "The birds" but im the one in control of them. It's awesome and theyre adorable and perfect and while I begrudgingly respect your opinions Crows will always be S tier for me.
I love how the ancient cuty/deep dark monkey is just there to annoy the warden and snitch on your location, then the warden kills you and it kills the monkey too, that's honestly hillarious
This is a staple mod in my mod pack, unlike most other animal mob mod they actually make all mob have a unique things going on very vanilla and up to Minecraft standards.
Something cool about the Cosmaw is that it's based off the Tully Monster, or Tullimonstrum, which was is an actual prehistoric animal that once lived in the water. It's highly debated what it even is, but if i remember correctly the most popular theory is that they're related to jawless fish
Idk how to explaint it but...Your voice, the way you speak, the emaculate vocabulary, everything reminds me of BeetleJuice. Overall? Very neat video 10/10
Yeah I knew but I didn't want to go too indepth. Like i said though, every alex mobs has a purpose and actually does something unlike a lot of mods/vanilla
AWWW I love this, I love seeing all the different animals. I use fabric, so I never got to use this So fuckin' cute. It's also cool how you respect them all lol
11:02 I cannot play vanilla Minecraft, Im so used to the great gadgets Alex mobs adds, and the squid crossbow is one of them, that thing is essential to me. Like, I've already learned and practiced with it, I can't go back to usual walking.
mimic and cave centipede are annoying as shit. especially if you're playing alex's mobs and alex's caves at the same time. they legit spawn everywhere in the new caves.
One seagull stole my everlasting steak and now I actively want to drive them to extinction. The thing with them IMO is they're great on their own (a bit irritating, much like creepers, but I mean it's not like there's irreplacable food items) but how they interact with some other mods (I think one particularly notable example that happened to someone else involves Botania's Fruit of Grisaia).
I'm pretty sure the Cosmaw is based on Opabinia, which is a Cambrian predator. Which bumps it up for me, anything with obscure history inspiration is a plus for me.
The one thing i hate about crocodiles is that they are so quiet. If you are in the tall grass biome (Idk the mod) you can't see them and out of nowhere your screen spins like sonic on steroids
My problem with this mod is that so many of them don't drop a food item, or anything for that matter. When I'm playing a survival game and I kill a rhinoceros or a giraffe and I can't eat or wear it I'm not thinking about "oh, well these animals are endangered and he doesn't want to [yadda yadda]" I'm thinking "This is such horseshit, I'm cheating in three venison right now." It makes living in certain biomes absolutely infuriating, and not ones where it should be a challenge to find food like the arctic. Just because Mojang are lily-livers and made it a rule for themselves for a handful of rare spawns to make the company look good doesn't mean it's good game design or you should make it so one in twenty passive mobs has drops. What really sucks is I haven't found a mod that lets you configure modded mobs' drops and actually works for me.
@@troubled_boys you know going into a mod blind can be pretty fun and make for some GREAT clips, specially with the team! I just imagine the reactions already.
