I played this at my husband’s funeral. This movie meant a lot to us, but this song took on a new meaning when he died. It gave me good memories and broke my heart all at the same time.
Beautiful
Lovely story but you really have foodie beauty as your picture 😂
Bless you, sending love
Each time you listen to that song, hes dancing too
🙏🏻
It has never been done better than by tim curry
Never will be either! 😊💗
Miss Nocturna amen sister
IT has never been done better than by Tim Curry.
wayne finco so true
Tim is the true voice of this song. This is the one that he'll be remembered for
They call it a Cult Classic, but its a Masterpiece!
I would make a painting of this movie and I would personally give it to Tim Curry or to Richard O'Brien or both or perhaps I would open up an art gallery called the all of phenomenal movies gallery and hope that Richard O'Brien would come in and I would ask for him to autograph the painting
Bladerunner used to be a cult classic too; just meant they hadn't made enough VHS tapes at the time.
Agreed! I saw it in original theatrical release, and while it was immediately a hit midnight movie it was many, many years before it became the cult classic of today. Nobody back then yelled out lines. We just watched in awe, enjoying the cosmic vibe created by the great Richard O’Brien, brought to life by the inimitable Tim Curry. Songs like this one are almost too beautiful to be true. Don’t dream it. Be it.
Did anyone else notice that insane scarf catch? Also, everything about this is a masterpiece!
I was just thinking that’s some great subtle theater magic right there! They really need more stuff like that in non broadway theater.
I think the scarf catch is one of the best scenes and this song is the most touching.
Pay close attention. That scene was done in reverse . The scarf throw was actually tossed away , as in pulled by a string .
Did you notice another person walk on the stage at that moment.
Yes also the "please, no autographs" gesture is hilarious
It didn't end well for him but I liked his attitude in leaving. He was crying, he loved the life he lived on earth, but he was smiling too .. because he was going on. Well done.
Yep, he loved being a narcissistic degenerate. I’m sorry but I’m going to say this dude is living his best self or life, whatever mental gymnastics people want to tell themselves or others to justify heinous acts. This song is basically is Frankie’s using tears to attempt to appeal to Riff Raff and Magenta in order to stay on Earth to continue to use people as sexual objects, discard them when he’s gets bored, and to use people’s body parts in order to build a perfect boy or girl toy. This is the same dude who killed Eddie for no good reason, and proceeded to serve him to other people for dinner. Tears doesn’t make him remotely sympathetic.
..... How sentimental.
😱😓😢😥
@@ambeaux4dLaughing. PERFECT.
He was smiling because he didn't know Riff Raff changed his mind and decided to leave him, dead.
My friends think I’m weird when I say I love this film, and I mean I love this film. Only a few get this movie. Glad I am one off them who do
anthony jones
The ones who won’t watch it or give it a chance are the weird ones, lol.
Me too
you are a special snowflake if you think so lol
You want a new friend ?
Yup, none of my friends will rewatch this movie. They all saw it when they were teens and still stubbornly insist "I don't like that movie!" 30 years later. I've given up. They would just watch it and dislike it out of spite by this point. Screw 'em.
The movie is meant to be silly. The overacting is reminiscent of the B movies it pays homage to. But there are some real moments.
It was made to be a fun movie from the begining
True. Silliness and parody abounds. But this indeed a moment.
Yes this moment is everything
This was one of those real moments In the film that broke the fourth wall and it felt like Tim was being applauded for his final performance on a broadway set in the film. It was like watching a Rocky Horror Show stage play within the movie itself!
I always say with Rocky Horror is that the more seriously you take Rocky Horror the funnier it becomes...
Tim Curry Forever
What is everyone, else, Chopped Meatloaf? An eddie, but, a goody. Happy Halloween.
Oh god, yes
Tim always did have such beautiful eyes and a great smile.
still does!!
Sadly gay!! No wife, no kids and no family in a wheel chair now!! How sad!! He should have had a better life for himself and continue the legacy and talent in his sons and daughters! Alas!
@@24mojoebro did u expect him to be straight😭
Where’s this mans oscar?
Snowbro 22
Been wondering that myself.
since when oscars reflect real greatness of the films?
He’s actually amazing
One of the iconic performances of cinema history.
He dont need that crap
The part that always chokes me up is when they show Columbia standing by the stage light and she's crying because I guess she really did love Frankenfurter. Gets me every time
I know she didn’t deserve to die fuck riff raff for that
Same
Columbia was my fav.
He looks so adorable with his sad red eyes and red nose. Poor baby. He did so great pulling this character off. I don't think anyone else could do it so well and be loved as much as him.
I like the line "I've seen blue skies through the tears in my eyes."
That line hit me hard when my Dad passed. This was his favorite soundtrack. He passed on June 23,2022 at 73. Today October 13 would have been his 74th Birthday. I just hope he misses us as much as we miss him...Happy birthday, Dad....
The first time I heard this song i cried
I still do
Maravilloso
It is a tearjerker. Whenyou know he doesn't go back home
I always cry seeing this scene...
And I did, again.
“cause i’ve seen blue skies through the tears in my eyes”
i made this my senior quote. i found this movie when everything first locked down. i would watch it all night after a boring day of online school. this movie changed me a lot. it awoken parts of me i didn’t know existed. i look back on that poor 16 year old girl who was too scared to wear anything but sweatshirts and jeans and i smile now that im 18 and still here and expressing myself to the fullest in everything i do without shame. life is so hard as i get older and get ready to go to college. School and work drags me down. Whenever i feel hopeless i come back to this song.
even when i’m crying so hard i can’t see through my tears, i look up, and i can still see blue skies.
You really have a beautiful soul.
May your future always be as beautiful as you.
Feeling that
I find it amazing that a girl as young as you discovers this movie and is so impressed by it. You must be a very special young lady. I am really impressed by YOU! I hope everything you desire for your life will come true. There are always some blue skies outside there ❤
Good for you.
Now go have a spectacular life!
Life only gets better from there. Wait until your 30's!
Got to hand it to Frank - he just refused to accept any consequences lying down. Reality just isn't fabulous enough for him.
Well said
The cinematography was so amazing in this film. As time passes with digital production, the richness, depth and texture of film becomes more 'works of art', priceless and nostalgic.
And the sound design! The echo of Frank's high heals in a still-empty theater while we see the audience Frank has imagined contradicting that sound. Very clever.
I am 42, I have listened to this song alone in the dark, since I was 10-11. My absolute favorite song from Rocky Horror, and Tim Curry sings with such emotion. Cards for sorrow, cards for pain......
I'm 60. I was there at the beginning.
Absolutely unbelievable song. Well written and amazingly performed
Same. I'm 32 and this has been my all time favorite movie for as long as I can remember and this is my favorite song from RHPS.
At 10 that lyric hit me hard.....
He had such a rich voice especially the low notes. I can feel my chest vibrating. Absolutely beautiful 🙏
Tim Curry was so hotttttt 🔥 in this role! There will NEVER be a version better than this.
The scene where he comes down in the elevator, tapping his heel on the floor....best part of this classic movie...
He’s a total kink and I’m not ashamed of it lol
Frank needed help. He was clearly mad and self absorbed. He didn't understand consequences and didn't think about how what he was doing was affecting others. But what makes his death bitter is that at the end, when singing here, you can tell that he sees the error of his ways at least a little. And then he's killed. It would have been different if he was killed like in a battle where he was trying to kill someone else, but the fact he was killed right when he was changing is was hurts.
Brad and Janet and Columbia had influenced him to the point where he began to be almost like a human in the end feeling emotional and ready to move on as he loved that life on earth but sadly he didn’t go home the way he thought he would.
Well I'm saving my sympathy for the people who deserve it. As for Frank, he always knew what he was doing to people, but he didn't care. As Columbia says: you chew people up and spit them out again. You take, take take.
Can we talk about how beautiful his eyes are?
No,I don't swing that way
My God, this man KILLS it in this song. His performance is worthy of tears. This scene is what comes to mind when I tell people Tim Curry is my favorite actor.
... And on a side note, he looks *damn great* in a corset.
I went to a live show of Rocky Horror recently and during the cards for sorrow cards for pain the audience threw playing cards at the stage. The actor playing Frakenfurter picked one up and revealed it to the audience and went 'It's a queen!'
It fit so well into the scene and song that I can't not think of that happening in this.
This was my sister’s favorite movie. When she died we played the soundtrack at her funeral, the lyrics to this song in particular fit well with her passing. I listen to it every time I miss her.
Just remember, she was going home.
Awww, dang. Nice sentiment.
Tim curry is too pure for this world
gary montgomery it’s a shame what happened to him
@@Lastone_laughing that's "shame" is called "life" sadly
I cry every time I hear this song. Every time I see this film although it’s silly it has some real moments.
And it means so much to me.
The pain in this song expresses all the shame I have had to take for being different but finally expressing myself and being myself.
This is more common than you think. Life is a journey for us all. To learn to love yourself, is truly the greatest love of all. And until you can truly love yourself. You will never be able to truly love another. ....I pray for your success, health, wealth and happiness. God bless you forever.
@@heithwatkins true. We need to love and accept ourselves.
I totally want this song played at my funeral. Morbid I know, but it is so fitting.
Awesome Song!
Good for you for being true to yourself. You are AMAZING to me. It takes a lot of courage to live life that way.
This show would have never been this show without Tim Curry. Without a single doubt there is NOBODY who could have EVER taken his place.
This song just made me so sad because I’m gay and I’ve never had the confidence like Frank has and this song makes me want to achieve my dreams
I didn't fully realize why I loved the live shows so much, the crowd energy until realizing I'm a not straight woman and the shows attract such a big lgbtq crowd.
it's never too late!! please live your life so you won't regret anything
don't try to live your life defined by sexuality or anything else. you are who you are, love yourself and embrace it.
Never live for them; live for YOU!! 💚🖤
You have it in you, we all do, don’t give up!
My whole film class cried at this scene because his character really evolved throughout the musical and everyone related to him
This is the song that makes you realize how special Tim Curry’s voice is. He does well with all his songs but this one is just perfect. ♥️
This is the one this is the movie Tim Curry will be remembered for.
This and three musketeers lol

And 'IT' 🤡
This scene has so much emotion and it takes me back to my early teenage years listening to this album on repeat after a.long day of school. I wasn't popular but every day when I got home I would watch this film or listen to the album and realised that there were other strange people out there and that it was ok to be who I was.
Thank you Tim curry, you have made all our lives a little bit brighter.
will we get a fallout 5?
The fact that Tim Curry was able to walk in stilettos with ease is amazing!
Snuck out of school in 1975 to see this movie. Have watched it more than 20xs. Sang the songs way more xs than that. Dressed as Magenta at every RHPS party. My adoration never wavers. I'll be 90 and still doing the Time Warp.
On the day I went away, goodbye
Was all I had to say, now I
I want to come again and stay, oh my my
Smile, and that will mean that I may
Cause I've seen blue skies, through the tears
In my eyes
And I realise, I'm going home.
Everywhere it's been the same, feeling
Like I'm outside in the rain, wheeling
Free, to try and find a game, dealing
Cards for sorrow, cards for pain
'Cause I've seen blue skies through the tears
In my eyes
And I realise, I'm going home.
I'm going home, I'm going home.
This scene was so off, it felt like it was real unlike the rest of the movie when Frank started to see the audience. How it was filmed, the ambiance, the actors performance, etc... It wasn't as "theatral" anymore and looked sincere, like it was the real Frank who went back to reality for this scene... Am I the only one who felt that ?
Tim Curry will never be bested in this role. He WAS frank n furter.
Also.
"I want to come again..."
AND AGAIN AND AGAIN 😁
More! More! More! (Please do come back)
glam rock at its best
A little different..but yea...i guess.
God what a voice
Oh I miss Tim Curry's voice so much. One of my all time favorite siniging voices. His singing here just relaxes me.
Monica Lawhorn He still sings, just in a different way. 😌
@@NocturnaPhelps He does? Oh that's so good to hear.
After reading some of the comments, I am glad that I am not the only person that cries everything I watch this scene. And I have left word with my children that I want this song played at my funeral.
Tim Curry is ICONIC in this role! Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful!
What a beautiful voice.
09/19/2021 is the day I lost my aunt Marcia to a terrible tragedy. She LOVED this film. She even shadowcasted it EVERY year. Everyone wanted to play basic songs for her but I chose this one as her final song. I knew she was smiling and crying when she heard it. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. It was VERY emotional. Everyone who attended came up to me and said they felt her with this song. I miss you every day aunt Marcia. Love ya
1:08 something about his eyes, their so beautiful the way he looks into the camera. I’ve always cry when I see this scene in Rocky “Horror Picture Show.” Tim Curry will always be the best Dr. Frank n Furter and one of the world best actors.
I was 4 when I first saw this movie,I’m 33 now and still in love.Got to meet Tim Curry two years ago!
1:59 that shot when he stands up and the light comes down on him is just my favorite
and the profile shot at the end in front of the light! it's perfect
same it's so moving
He's so beautiful
One of the best performances and songs from any film.
Susan Sarandon seemed to want to distance herself from her association with this movie although I can't imagine why. It's truly a masterpiece.
@Andreas Falk bull crap
Well, I heard she got hypothermia in the pool scene & the parts where Brad steps on her foot was given revenge by Janet stepping on his during Wild & Untamed Thing. Some of the things in the film weren't intended, in a word
He trully deserved an Oscar for this scene...
Such a passionate performance by Tim Curry, gives me goosebumps
He’s absolutely amazing
this is one of the most beautiful songs ever and I at the time was young enough to understand what the rocky horror picture meant. i am now 63 and the freedom this show gave people so many years ago. i think TIM CURRY is just brillant and has been very underrated - i doubt anyone else could have pulled this off as well as he did. i actually think who ever casted this show was brillant i think you got a group of very talented people together who just shone. jo sargeant victoria australia
I'm in the Army, and when I came back from my first deployment. I had this song stuck in my head. For some reason this song made me really feel like I was home again
Not sure if any of you guys will read this, but it's now three years later and I am now finishing my second deployment " I'm going home "
I love this song so much, actually the whole movie. But this scene gets me in the feels and I cry everytime I see it. My mom and I used to watch the movie together during Halloween every year since I was 14, it was tradition. Sadly she passed away in January of this year and I miss her more than words can express. This song reminds me of a simpler time and how I wish I could go back home.... There will never be another performance as wonderful as Tim's. Gives me goosebumps ❤️
Ash Star Sorry for your loss.
@@NocturnaPhelps Thank you ❤️
Well if it helps....I'm watching it right now, that means we're watching it on halloween together. You aren't alone my friend. Happy Halloween
I know it is late, but bless you and your Momma.
@@Frankcastlepunisher74 Thank you. Blessings to you as well.
tim curry looked into my eyes and sang today in stockton, the globe, this exact song. i literally cant get over it
2020 Halloween Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦 . 61yrs old and still crying at this scene. Yearly tradition in my house. Brilliance 🥰
Brad and Janet wouldn’t have shown their true colors if it hadn’t been for Frank, even though he’s gone, his influence on the former couple still remains.
Doesn’t matter how many times I watch the movie or how many times I listen to this song, I will always cry when this part comes up. It’s so touching and this scene spoke to me on a spiritual level. Tim Curry’s performance throughout the movie is fenomenal but this scene in particular is just so vulnerable and it’s like he was complete I was so overwhelmed with emotions the first time I saw this. This part is definitely the one that stands out to me from the movie
Same, I was shocked to cry at the Rocky Horror Picture show but here we are. Love it.
He manages to bring me to tears everytme i hear this, he is by far one of y fav male singers of all time❤
The pain he channeled in that scene just breaks my heart
The only thing that sucks about empathy, have to watch movies alone :(
For me, this is THE best song of the whole production, and all the songs are great. The most warm, true emotional, and soulful moment of the film. I dare anyone to knock it out of the park as well as Tim did here, and I'll even let you forgo the mascara and panties.
Tim curry was absolutely brilliant in this and loved him in most everything he has done....I think this movie just personifies his talent and what he is truly capable of. I truly felt so bad for him in this scene...Bravo Tim!
His voice is so powerful and exquisite
I can actually feel the theatre, especially 2:35 when the light hits him
theres something about this film that made me feel a certain way that nothing ever has done before. this film feels like home to me?? if that makes sense
I felt so strongly about this film that after I saw it (and rewatched it several times in quick succession), I went out and got two RHPS tattoos. It’s just a wonderful tribute to those who are different and feeling like they’re lost, unheard and have nowhere to turn. Just my take.
Gosh golly this scene really is good makes me want watch the movie
Hope you saw it
So good. Hope you saw it and liked it!
Please watch it is a masterpiece been watching this movie since I was basically a baby made me fall in love with music and art
Have you watched it yet
Tim Curry's just great, what a wonderful movie. Peace to all.
Tim Curry is a god
His passion is so beautiful it really made me cry. I felt so silly but this was so beautiful
Wundervoll
I have a ton of respect for this song, but why is this me when I'm getting picked up from school early?
Huge kudos to Peter Suschitzky, the DP of the film, for capturing Tim's performance so beautifully. It's stunning to watch no matter how many times you play it!
This song makes me cry! This is the last song he ever sang.
Tim, you are the man!
I was 8 years old when I was first shown this movie..I’m 15 now and I’m still in love with him and this movie..not only is it a great movie it holds a lot of memories that I hope I’ll never forget..thank god for rocky horror
You, my friend are a beautiful soul!
I do wish I could give this a thousand thumbs up. It's a perfect blend of surreal and sentimentality. Magenta and Riff Raff arriving at the back of the theatre to deport Frank-N-Furer is absolutely brilliant cinematography. Thank you for the upload!
We’ve never deserved Tim Curry but thank God for his generosity.
This is my dads favorite song from one of his favorite movies. I haven't seen him in a while and always listen to it and think about him.
Even when they put makeup on Tim to make him look more sad and an emotional wreck, he still isn't ugly 🙈😀💖
One of the most beautiful songs ever.
I'm surprised after all this time nobody commented on the scarf scene. I mean he catches it just right!
that scene really adds to the song and such.
I'm a straight guy, and I really think this scene is so GOOD! So fuckin powerful! This is just a great fuckin movie.
❤️
This feels very Rocky Horror Picture show inspired
Laughed through this whole movie abs got so invested in the characters and when it got to this part I literally bawled . Took me and everyone watching with me by surprise. Love this!!!
Some of the best 3minutes and some seconds ever filmed!
This movie is an emotional roller coaster... you go from being scared of frank to hating him for being a murderer to having compassion for him when he lets his walls down.
Such a beautiful song. I cry every time I hear it. ❤️😪
I love this track, by far my favourite from the movie, works as a stand alone single too
One of my funeral songs
The last "pain" card always kills me inside
I love this song so much, I watch this every time I cry. It actually helps for some reason
Such a wonderful movie and music. I used to go with friends every weekend to watch the late show. I even saw my latter to be wife of 30 years at one of the Friday night late shows. It was such innocent fun with our Wake Forest fraternity. And the Meat Loaf song got me going. God bless you all.
When I first moved to the big city in high school in 1986, it was the punks and weirdos that took me in. One of the things that we did was see midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in costume with friends that knew all the lines. I felt so secure and kept and safe and moved. I sure do have a lot of love for this movie.
I'm surprised this part isn't mentioned more often
I graduated in 2005...we useed to watch this every saturday night in chicago...as did my aunts/mom when it came out originally.
Society wasn't ready for Rocky Horror.
And nobody will ever be able to do it better
My heart, much like everyone else's, broke for Frank at the end of this song.
God this man is amazingly talented 🥰
I was lucky. I was in the Air Force in 1980 (enlisted in July) and was at DLI (Defense Language Institute) at Monterey California. There was a place called the Pillow Theater (because they had pillows for seats, natch..LOL). Saw this there for the first time and was just BLOWN away! Saw it many more times over the year I was there. I cannot imagine many people still get to see this the way I did all those years ago to get the full vibe, but it is a classic nonetheless. Does anyone else think it can be a really sad picture too? I mean Dr. Frankfurter, Meatloaf, Little Nell and Rocky all die! I get very melancholy now that soooo much time has passed since then, but I am sooo grateful for those moments with my friends as we went down to watch RHPS!
Such a stunningly beautiful classic which I never get tired of watching / listening to.
Oh man, i will love this movie for ever.
this scene has always made me want to cry but when tim curry passes i legit don't think i'll be able to watch it anymore lol. what is this life
I went to the midnight showing of this movie, every weekend for an entire summer. Our parents thought it was a horror movie, and we never told them the difference, or why we were dressing up.
but...who did you dress up as?
