That Priest looks like Phil Donahue 😂
I used to call the young people I supervised “All My Children”. This was my favorite soap!
Very powerful performance by the wonderful Ms Julia Barr as Brooke English Chandler.
RIP Candice Earley 1950-2019
Donna has a beautiful voice and she put her heart out to everyone😭
I remember this, I'm sobbing as I watch its so sad. JB rocked this as Brooke.
The blonde lady who sang at the funeral has a beautiful voice
+Scampie Scampiesworld That's actress Candice Earley, who portrayed Donna Beck Tyler Courtland Sago Tyler. She was a "Tyler" twice. She was married to Chuck Tyler, Palmer Courtland and Benny Sago.
She was in the movie, "Godspell" back in the early 1970s and had a small role in that. She's the best!
CE recently died, too.
OMG this is a tear jerker
My heart is breaking watching this.. sob
Julia should have won that year. fantastic story. It was at the beginning of MADD, mothers against drunk driving.
It’s even sadder when it’s a child
Donna has a gorgeous voice, wow.
Emmy worth for brook fir sure
This was done to make both the show and Julia Barr Emmy winners, and I'm glad it backfired. Both AMC and OLTL started going down a spiral slide at this point which would take years to recover from.
I remember this story like it was yesterday,s till makes me cry, nobody should have to bury a child.
I remember the little girl she was a sweet and kind little girl.
Again very realistic and powerful scene

Well done, Candi! ❤️
You better believe Adam,Tom,Ross had her back.
Absolutely awful and tasteless storyline, done for sheer shock ; no payoff whatsoever.
Actually I believe this storyline was done to bring up the subject of drinking while driving to the audience as well as to show the effects of drunk driving from both perspectives, from the families shattered by the death of a loved one because of drunk driving, and from the person who drove drunk and who will have to live forever knowing their carelessness caused someone's death. This storyline also brought into play Brooke becoming involved with the organization MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving
@donitabird61, The song is called "Be not afraid"
I may be the only one, but I always felt soo bad for Barbara. It probably had a lot to do with the fact I loved Anne Logan on GH, played by Susan Pratt. Barbara had no idea what it was like to care for a child. She, a second too late, I think, realized she should not have allowed Laura to walk across the street by herself. It was truly Josh who killed Laura, not Barbara. But yes, she did have a causal effect of the whole thing. I cannot imagine being in Barbara's shoes, ever. If I had a hand in the death of a child, no matter how much it was accidental, I never would get over it. I just always had compassion on Barbara.
Yep. Remember on The Young & The Restless, Billy Abbott went to get some Ice Cream for Dee Dee and left his Daughter in the Car she ran to get the Dog, and got run over. On the UK Soap Opera a character named Tony had to bury his Daughter who died of SIDS.
@Adrienne Gurge Actually, I believe they said Laura was 6. I am not bragging or think I know anything about this situation, but I am an early childhood educator. I've seen too many things when it comes to parenting and non parenting than I even want to remember. Believe me, all adults don't know kids have to be walked across the street at a young age. Heck, people used to let their YOUNG children walk up to the Circle K to buy them cigarettes or whatever. I'm sure many children had to cross streets to do so. I don't really think Barbara was maternal at that point in her life. You are right though...she just wanted Laura out of her hair.
@Adrienne Gurge LOL me too! lol.
I agree with you on this view. Barbara had a bad lapse of judgement on this and she felt guilty Naturally Josh was the drunk who hit her with his car, but remember Laura LIED to Barbara about being allowed to cross the street alone. Tom told Shaun this and it cost Laura her life.
@brianga1979 yeah I can't believe nobody held her accountable
Three people were responsible Barbara Laura herself and naturally Josh Waleski the DRUNK DRIVER.
Wouldn’t the priest speak to the congregation? Especially at a funeral of a child....
Yeah, but the actor portraying him wasn't a contract player.
Besides that, it was a funeral service, not a funeral Mass.
I have to wonder, what would have happened if Laura survived?
If she had lived I don't think Adam would have been as obsessed as he was. Adam was actually motivated by Brooke's mourning. He saw a great mother who no longer had a child to parent and he was willing to go to any lengths to give her a child. Keep in mind they were planning a family prior to Laura's death when Brooke found out she was no longer ovulating. Adam seemed to respect Brooke's decisions then.
Heck, if you think about it, if Adam could've stayed with Brooke for a couple more years Jamie Martin could've been Adam Jr.
As for Laura herself, I keep thinking about her and Bianca (Kane) Montgomery in high school at the same time. Would they be friends or would the Kane/English rivalry extend to another generation.
I have to admit I feel bab for Barbara here.
Very touching speech by Laura .. but they are standing in a Catholic Church talking about how people become angels when they die .. they do not
