The look and voice of this so called “Angel” always fascinated me. Del Toro out did himself with another amazing creature design.

The hellboy movies might be hit or miss with some people but I absolutely adore them. The angel is beautifully creepy, played brilliantly by Doug Jones

@@Lunk42 it's not a shell is an halo, but in some depictions of demons, angels and other creatures, angels don't have eyes and the halo is maded by, metal, bone or something and it's part of the skull

The design for this character is amazing.
Most of his films have fantastic makeup designs.
Del Torro's work makes my heart ache. There is something soo beautiful, frightening, mysterious, sweet and magical about his world building. I want to own those story books. Have read them as a child and played under my mother's dresser with those characters.

this has got to be one of the creepiest designs of del toro...first goes to the blind man in the chamber(pans labyrinth). this creatures voice fits its appearance so well and the way it flares it's wings to show the many eyes was just awesome

IMO Del Toro should be at least an advisor on any movie with monsters/creatures. You can really see his love for monsters in his works.

@I Am The One Who Knocks sorry but if a creator of a book makes/chooses a shitty cover for their book I ain't gonna read it because chances are it will suck. The cover of the book should mirror what you should expect from it, and if it's boring I will assume the text will be boring. Great example is the Twilight books, I decided to check the first book out because of the hype and the cover already made me feel it's not gonna be a good book, and I was right. It sucked, I couldn't read the entire book because the very beginning of it was so generic even for a teenager. I'm pretty sure this is what the person you replied to meant, don't judge a BOOK by it's cover is the dumbest fucking advice you can give because if a creator cannot put the effort to make a good cover, how much effort did they really see to creating the contents?

I never planned on seeing the new HELLBOY and hearing how bad it was didn't surprise me, this guy was my favorite character in the 2nd movie I just wish he had more camera time that voice he had was so creepy and mystifying like smaug the dragon 😁
As the dude who DID watch that trash, don't go watch. It's so bad, I felt like suing the cinema I went to just to get a refund.
Goes to show how passion in the story trumps empty comic refrences and accuracy.

Doug Jones really is a genius at portraying strange characters. So much acting in his body language. Hellboy 2 is a great movie and it was a tragedy that the trilogy wasn't finished. The Angel of Death is one of my favorite creature creations.
Guillermo Del Toro is my favorite director and designer man even his name is badass!

Guillermo del Toro is one of the giants in movie making. A true lover of stories. Both having them told to him and telling others.
This depiction of the Angel of Death is my favorite I remember seeing this scene and completely being taken to another place

After watching the new Hellboy, which didn’t feel like Hellboy to me at all, I watched the original 2 and fell in love once again with these brilliant movies
It’s astonishing how the practical work done to this angel of death looks way more believable and lifelike than modern cgi due to the creative minds behind the scenes. When I saw it as a kid when Hellboy ll first came out I was scared of it yet fascinated. I will always appreciate Del Toro’s beautiful films and work that he puts to expressing his passion unlike some directors who make needless sequels, reboots, cash grab films, etc. who put no passion and just care about box office returns and film popularity even if it’s crap!! ( the Nun and other horror movies)

When I heard you say the Reboot didn't work out, I was like"OH COME ON!"
Just 3 minutes of screen time overshadowed pretty much every other character in the movie... goes to show you how much of a master piece this creation was
Knowing that the angel is played by Doug Jones who is aslo playing abe , not having Abe in the same scene as the angel, makes tons of sense

For those who didn't know, the angel of death is played by the same actor as Abe, who is also the creepy ice cream man from the movie Legion and (as said in the video) the faun from Pans Labyrinth

Not archangels, but seraphim who have eyes on their wings, the highest order of the 9 ranks of angels; having 6 wings: 2 to veil their faces, 2 to veil their feet, and 2 to fly.
Now that design for an Angel is absolutely gorgeous. Almost Biblically accurate
I know this may sound stupid. But I want characters more like this in anime. Hauntingly beautiful and awe inspiring in there creation. Some of the characters I like and I don’t mind. But there’s not a whole lot that are like this.
You look way different than I thought you would but you voice for videos is a absolute golden jewel I never get tired of hearing it

I think reason why Krauss stayed behind with Abe is because it would be awkward for someone who is supposed to be dead to be in the same room as Death.
Niat(spelt wrong?) has the perfect narration voice. I could listen to his videos all day, every day. His tone and inflection just pulls you in.

On Netflix there is a show called Zoo, It is about a company creating a type of biotic that makes animals (even domestic ones) extremely aggressive while evolving. And it even can spread to humans. From what I have seen in the show, any animal infected will cooperate with each other in attempts to destroy humans
It is a very interesting show but I haven't been able to watch it recently
