REVIEW: Cane Creek Helm Fork

The Cane Creek Helm Works 130 fork is highly adjustable, very supportive mid-stroke, has a token less volume adjustment system, and a Climb Switch.
When Chumba USA sent us their Sendero in June of 2020, it was set up with this fork when we took it to Sedona for a first look, seen in the video linked below:

As you’ll see in this Cane Creek Helm Works 130 fork review video, we really liked the Helm Works, especially with the Climb Switch for those of you who plan to run this fork on a hardcore hardtail setup as a singlespeed, or you just need a fork that stiffens up a ton for the climb. All that and this fork has the ability to really stick like Velcro to the trail, soaking up tons of trail chatter, especially when setup with just slightly more pressure in the negative air chamber. The key to falling in love with this fork is to adjust everything and take notes along the way. You can see how I had it setup in this video, but your terrain and riding style should really dictate how you run it. Change it up for different riding locations and you’ll be so thankful you have such a versatile fork for a variety of trail types. It’s nearly a perfect fork for riders who push their bike really hard, need to adjust it to a variety of different trail types, and also want to be able to eliminate nearly all bobbing at the flip of a switch.
While we really enjoyed this fork on the Chumba Sendero, in the end, it only had clearance for a 29 x 2.5” tire and that was what kept it from remaining on the Sendero.
