I thought frieren just accepts fern apprentice because heiter told her that she has a talent in magic and this scene shows that how fern is talented in magic to the point of serie wanted her as an apprentice too.
She is not talented, she is extremely hard working. She has been polishing her mana control since she was a toddler and keep it constantly compressed even while fighting to the death.

When you realize that Serie's restrained mana output is like Frieren's unrestrained output, it puts things in perspective. I think it's also one of the reasons Fern can tell Serie is suppressing her mana, since she's trained with Frieren at such an early age. She's grown up being very acute to it.

I've been doing this for a while and this is actually the first time I received so many dislikes because the title had spoilers. I quite literally do this all the time so It's a little odd why this one out of the hundreds gets disliked for that kind of reason.

This scene was better in the manga. The face Serie made in the manga after Fern says her mana fluctuates gave me shivers. I would reread that chapter over and over again just to re experience it. Fern is absolutely amazing

No, At least not yet. In actuality probably never I mean Serie is an elf.
So we already know Frieren is op as hell but not only is Series mana as big if not bigger than Frierens, its also suppressed, and she is better at suppressing Mana than Frieren since even a first class mage can detect her fluctuations but not Series. All this after calling it a useless skill. How much time does she have to practice a useless skill to that degree and why didn’t she fight the demon king?
The reason she doesn't fight the demon king is because she can't beat him and doesn't want to do that too.
