Last night my hubby went to put away my crestie, Archie, after he had a great time climbing all over his arms and back, which was really cool to see! He was totally fired down and super chill with just climbing and exploring, which he's been kinda shy so far so it was neat! Anyways, he went to put him back in his home and he did NOT want to go back in there for some reason. He kept climbing back up his arm or his hand so he had to gently try to skooch him off his hand and he turned around and tried to chirp at him but it came out a bit raspy (like if you scream and nothing comes out) and it scared the crap outta the hubby because he didn't think they made any noise lol. It was the weirdest thing and quite hilarious 😅 Don't worry he went safely back into his home afterwards and enjoyed watching us the rest of the night by the glass until we went to bed.1k

1K. That’s so strange, I knew it wasn’t really nice to pet their heads. But my one male chirps walking up to me sometimes and chirps before he goes to mate lol. So I thought it was him being excited. He’s the only one who does it though and he doesn’t try doing anything or nipping at my hands. The “eh-err” noise females make sometimes makes me laugh though because it just sounds like a “no, go away” 😂

So if we have just one male pet crested gecko, I wonder if he'd want to mate with a small toy rubber lizard. I mean, instead of blue balls, or the desire to mate with your hand. Or would they mate with one of those little mirror toys that are a terrible idea for birds, I just wonder.

Clearly this guy has no fucking clue what he's talking about. I have a female crested gecko, her name is Char and she is 2 years of age and the same size as the one he's handling in this video.
He has so far stated the following bullshit:
    1) They hate being held.
    2) They're not intelligent
    3) Their bite is so vicious they can do major damage to you.
    The truth is:
    1) ALL REPTILES CAN FEEL LOVE they just have to have the right connection with the right person and clearly his geckos don't fucking love him. (I don't blame them)
    2) They are highly intelligent, and can think/feel WAY MORE that what most people believe.
    3) a crested gecko can't harm humans in any way shape or form their jaws and teeth are too weak and small to pierce our skin.

    • @NickHowellElectricgeckos
