    FYI, there is a built-in tool within windows to make an image from an existing computer, then apply that image to another computer.
    It is a subset of commands within DISM, but its not for everyone because it is command line.
    but basically you boot from a Windows 2 Go USB drive, capture the original SSD making sure you will have access to the captured image after pulling the old SSD out(weather your windows 2 go disk is big enough for the image, or if you have an M.2 to USB adapter) Use RUFUS on another computer to create a bootable install disk from the captured image, and then boot from this disk after getting the new SSD installed.
    I personally like to start fresh from a new drive, and i usually wipe the OEM drive before i start using a new computer, i dont trust that its clean.

    • @okestgamer
      @okestgamer  5 месяцев назад +1

      That sounds like another great option. I mainly target newer users with the guides, so I pick easy to use software. I can definitely appreciate starting with a fresh install as well though. I've done that with other devices.

      @@okestgamer Since its built into windows, i really hope Microsoft just goes ahead and makes a GUI to migrate from one drive to another, with a checkbox telling it that its the same computer, or a different computer that requires different drivers.

Is there any other form of insulation tape you can use to put on the new SSD? Question about cloning with new device. If the unit is brand new straight out the box and I update everything first could I just swap out the old ssd card with new 2TB one will it work with out cloning or is cloning required at all times? I watched a video on RUclips but he had the ROG ALLY and all he had to do was updated everything first software firmware all that stuff then installed his 2TB ssd and just powered everything up all working fine he didn't have to clone the ssd card, could this also work on legion go?
    Another question is there a difference between the 2230 or the 2242 cos I've come across a few videos like this one as well using 2230 ssd is the 2230 better or something in performance or is it just cheaper to buy then the 2242 one

    • @okestgamer
      @okestgamer  Месяц назад +1

      At launch a 2230 was cheaper than 2242 (not sure on prices today). You will need to clone to have your files, drivers, or really anything present on the SSD. The other video you would have watched for the ROG Ally is likely a cloud recovery option that is present in the ROG Ally bios (I did a video on that as well). That option is not present on the legion Go, so cloning is your best option.

    did i really need a dock to do the process? and if it so...is that i need a good quality dock system?..can i use the ordinary dock or hub?

    • @okestgamer
      @okestgamer  17 дней назад

      You can probably skip the dock for the process. In the early days of the legion launch there was a USB power bug, it's since been resolved so should be fine
