    Ladies and gentlemen. The adapter he is using is a Modified Transfer Board For Legion Go SSD Memory Card Adapter for NVME M.2 2242. They're available on Amazon if you're in the states like me.

      @@arezxx5244 The stock drive is 2240 and this one is a 2280, so its basically double the length, this adaptor brings it back down enough so that it can lay flat.

    Glad to see you finally got that adapter to mount the SSD internally instead of the external set up that you were using with magnets. This set up will work much better but will just have to monitor the temperature of the SSD when gaming. Good video!

    • @MGTMaxGamesTech
      @MGTMaxGamesTech  8 месяцев назад +3

      Thanks. Just for info: Legion already has 2 strong magnets inside, at the base. This is how the kickstand is closed at the base. Magnets have no effect on ssd or components, as long as you don’t use 1kg magnet :)

    Someone should make a printable backplate that supports the mod.

    • @lescarpio
      @lescarpio Месяц назад

      There's a few on Amazon that replace the entire backplate, making it not only quieter (because of bigger fan holes) and a space for a full sized SSD. Only thing is the ones I've seen require a SSD adapter that has it laid horizontally along the battery.

    You can use macrium reflect free trial and do a 1to1 SSD copy before switching ssd's so you don't have to do recovery or loose anything on the original SSD.

      Thanks legend. Got it. I have been reading the ssd temperature's are crazy for majority of the 2280 ssd. Has anybody had any luck managing the temps better? I wish someone makes a custom backplate that rises out a bit more and allows for better heat dissipation.

    Did the mod using a hynix p41 temps while transferring large amounts hit low 70s. During gaming low 60s peak. I added a .5 mm thermal pad which reduced temps a bit further. To clarify the higher temps were hwinfo #3 which is the controller. I'm assuming temp 1 & 2 are nand and dram which were 40-50c

    Hey mate, i just did this with a Kingston 4tb 2280 ssd, but im having a huge issue when unplugged and running it on battery, the disk activity is spiking like hell from 0-40-72-100% disk usage and games are unplayable cause it stutters every second... do you know what might cause this?,
    Its so weird cause as soon as i plug it into the AC adapter it vanishes and is smooth as hell..
    Would be lovely with some feedback on this please!.

    • @MGTMaxGamesTech
      @MGTMaxGamesTech  7 месяцев назад +4

      Strange…
      My first idea, I would recommend this: Check the power plan in windows battery settings. It seems that you don’t run on performance without cable. Maybe you made the settings for unplugged to run on a lower profile. Windows will switch them automatically. Probably this is the problem. Check those settings.
      Otherwise, if this is not the problem, I would recommend to try with another 2280 ssd to see if you get the same behavior.
