Hello I got my Legion Go today! I downloaded drivers, update windows, and downloaded games. I factory reset my new device, is that okay? Is there something I should be worried about?
The factory reset may potentially mess up the drivers that were installed. If you need the drivers they should be available on Lenovo’s support site. I would try everything out first and if you are not having any issues then carry on as usual
@@okestgamer Thank you for the reply! I was aware that my drivers would be erased, but I would repeat the setup process again coming from this video. Is that fine for my device?
Yes for the most part, there may be drivers specific to the controllers or other components that are specific to the Go. If you find any issues with some things (like speakers, track pads, etc) then try the Lenovo support site to download a driver pack. Legion space may also prompt them to be installed, I’m not sure if that’s been fully implemented or not yet.
Thanks man! Yes they should all be relevant on the ally, except obviously swapping software around for legion space and armoury crate. ‘My Asus’ replaced the need to go to a website like on the legion

Do you mean in the legion space app? I’ve heard some had issues with that. I would have to look into the solution. The screen saver was actually just a RUclips video haha
Not a problem. I don’t have a specific performance video, but I advise starting with lowest graphics settings and FSR as high as possible and then work your way up (turn down FSR, or turn up graphics) until you find a good setting.
I just saw your comment on the Wulff Den bid, is this your updated day one guide, or are you releasing a new one altogether? Mate, thanks for all your coverage btw, it's been awesome.
Great video, has helped me a lot with my go. I have a question as someone who hasn't own a pc since windows 8, what antivirus software and browser would you say is good for a handheld pc?
Question as of right now this video is very helpful but my questionis on the VRAM i see in my vram 4G, 6G and 8G did you ever change to 6G? And did you ever change your settings in the AMD app to HYPR-RX?
I would suggest 6gb, it wasn't available at the time I made the video but does offer some gains in performance. Hype rx has a few features, it certainly can't hurt to have it on for the most part. Fluid motion frames is the one that may sometimes act strange, you can always toggle that one off
Do you happen to know anything about emulation on the legion Go? I wanted to see about setting up my controllers and I'm having some difficulty with them I didn't know if you had any advice or any recommendations thank you for your video and your help!
I have a little bit of experience, but mostly with yuzu at this point. In yuzu you need to select the controller in the settings, it is not defaulted on.

Question regarding the memory optimizer bit; in what way does this cause problems? I changed it before seeing this video and things seem okay but I'm not sure what I should be looking for? What do I do? D:
@@okestgamer In your video you say it can mess up your vram and could require a BIOS flash to fix, in what way do you mean? It won't physically damage it or anything right?
@@cullenjk no not physically damaging, it just messes up the vram allocation. So if you change it and then reboot, you’ll likely be down to 2gb of vram instead of the standard 3 or other amount you set in the bios. It’s a setting that all around is best to avoid.
@@okestgamer ah okay, I should double check my settings for 4GB stuck since I changed it right after changing that setting and just assumed it worked. Thanks for taking the time to respond and clarify! ❤️
Not a problem, hopefully yours isn’t changed incorrectly. If it is, apparently a bios reflash fixes it, but make sure you’re comfortable with the process before doing that.
@@okestgamer I think I did the first day. It now shows gaming and not productivity like in your video. I wonder if it is really limiting vram or not, in bios it's still 4GB.
I changed the RAM optimization to "Gaming"..... Wish I had seen this video first. So far nothing bad has happened though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe it's because I didn't change the VRAM allowance in the BIOS?
@@okestgamer I've rebooted multiple times since changing it, everything's still working fine... But now I'm worried, should I leave it as is since it's working, or should I switch it back to "Productivity"?
I cannot get the AMD software to open even after installing the drivers and restarting. It says that windows update may have overwritten the software. I went to AMD's website and used their software to double check all driver installations. Installed what popped up, still doesn't load. Went to the provided link which prompted me to install their software compatibility tool. When I run that, it says I have no amd software installed. I'm in a loop of do this so it works, but no it didn't work so go back and do it again.
@@fracture589 interesting, I have had this issue surface on a previous device. Did you run the script that opens cmd prompt or or did it open the amd app?
My legion space page looks different and i cant locate the eact setting page as seen in the video. Am i missing something? Or has there been an app revamp?
It seems like some users have had this issue. There is a way to reinstall the amd app. It’s a little involved, but if you join the r/legion go discord the steps are outlined there. You basically need to locate the install file for the app and run it.
I didn’t watch this video before messing with the app and did the do not touch part of the vid and changed the performance optimizer to gaming. What do you mean by it messes up your VRAM? What should I do to fix it?
Should I download Norton antivirus as I have a subscription on my laptop or will that use to many resources. Is windows built in security and antivirus good for this device
I touched the warning point befor see your guide, now I set again in the AMD software the optimization from game to productivity. The VRAM is still 4GB. The problem is anyway there?
I did a test in another video that shows. Memory integrity off as well as core isolation off gains a bit of performance. If you watch my onexfly vs rog ally video from awhile back watch the bonus performance section. The "modded ally" is just the ally with these settings off vs the other ally having them on.

@@okestgamer Is it known with the Legion Go or other devices too? Because I couldn't find any info so far.
After flashing the bios it's back to normal :)
@@icephoenix7110 oh this is great news! Thanks for reporting back and I’m glad it worked out
Fluid Motion Frames lets go!
That’s the name. Couldn’t remember it haha
I changed the RAM optimization to "Gaming"..... Wish I had seen this video first. So far nothing bad has happened though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe it's because I didn't change the VRAM allowance in the BIOS?
It may change when you reboot
@@okestgamer I've rebooted multiple times since changing it, everything's still working fine... But now I'm worried, should I leave it as is since it's working, or should I switch it back to "Productivity"?
@@krenn93 if it’s not broken don’t fix it. Ride it out until it has an issue
@@krenn93 it was the same for me. No problem. Did you have problem recently?
@@insanityworld525 yes, it made games only recognize 2gb VRAM, even with it set to 4gb in the BIOS menu. I changed it back and games recognized 4gb.
You don’t want to go to amd’s website. You want to grab them from Lenovo’s website
@@okestgamerHaving the same problem and i got them from lenovos site just like the video
@@fracture589 interesting, I have had this issue surface on a previous device. Did you run the script that opens cmd prompt or or did it open the amd app?
@@okestgamer Im not very computer smart. I just followed the video and now the app won't open
Thank you so much! Im def a newbie at this.
Not a problem, I’m glad it was helpful!
My legion space page looks different and i cant locate the eact setting page as seen in the video. Am i missing something? Or has there been an app revamp?
There was a big revamp for the software. Which page are you looking for?
After installing the AMD App, I get the same error (not compatible). Any ideas?
So this was after running that .exe that runs the command prompt?
Same issue here. AMD app not compatible even after updating drivers
It seems like some users have had this issue. There is a way to reinstall the amd app. It’s a little involved, but if you join the r/legion go discord the steps are outlined there. You basically need to locate the install file for the app and run it.
Thank you!!! I'm heading there after work.
Can all of this automatically automatically update themselves or do we do it manually?
Right now it seems manual, I’m sure they will look to smooth it out later. Legion space will be automatic moving forward.
I didn’t watch this video before messing with the app and did the do not touch part of the vid and changed the performance optimizer to gaming. What do you mean by it messes up your VRAM? What should I do to fix it?
You should be able to fix it by updating the bios. Google legion go bios update and you should fine the file on their website
Ok cool thanks, I instantly went into panic mode when I heard you say that 😂
Can you run multiple programs while you are game ? Such ad switch too different tabs or multiple tasking?
You technically could yes. It is basically the same as if you were using a laptop. You could run the game windowed if you wanted
Great video thanks
Thank you! And no problem man
Should I download Norton antivirus as I have a subscription on my laptop or will that use to many resources. Is windows built in security and antivirus good for this device
It's up to you. I personally am not using any, but I'm using it just for gaming so I'm not worried
I touched the warning point befor see your guide, now I set again in the AMD software the optimization from game to productivity. The VRAM is still 4GB. The problem is anyway there?
If you reboot the device and it’s still 4gb you should be safe
About the zip things, didnt got the same thing. Doesn’t have the download folder
That's odd, it should work similar to the video for 7-zip
Hi I'm getting my LeGo tonight and I'm just curious if this day 1 guide is still updated?
It's still relevant, the driver link may be outdated, so just Google "legion Go AMD driver
@@okestgamer Thank you so much🙏
I'm excited to unbox my LeGo when I get home.
@@Konzen08 yeah man, you’ll love it I’m sure
Can I ask why you would want to turn memory integrity off? Genuine curious
I did a test in another video that shows. Memory integrity off as well as core isolation off gains a bit of performance. If you watch my onexfly vs rog ally video from awhile back watch the bonus performance section. The "modded ally" is just the ally with these settings off vs the other ally having them on.
Dude, I wake up in the morning and then I just see your video posted 11 minutes ago💀
Yup, it’s not often I can get one out mid week. I have some time off work so I’ve been busy filming.
6G is out by now, would you suggest that over 4?
Yes I would go with 6gb
you have a solution for the sound because it’s so quiet during cloud gaming on game pass. thank you.
Yup it helps it out a little, it’s hard to fully fix, but every bit helps. Check out the FXsound or Dolby access
@@okestgamer ty
No problem
Great videos. Really well made. Subscribed! 👍
Ive got a steamdeck and love steamos but i miss cod and battlefield. Ive ordered a legion go and like the hardware. Looking to try fps mode.
Thank you, and appreciate the support. I'm sure you'll love the Go, it's a great device
