    Would be great if someone made an aftermarket back panel for these systems that would relocate the drive to an accessible area and allow for 2280 drives. It would obviously add thickness but it might be worth it for some.

    I got the 3D printed back plate to install the 2280 SSD with the small 90 degree adapter. It worked but I lost the ability to have the silicone cover and use the travel case. I decided to hot knife a section of that inside support out and the drive was able to fit perfectly. I put a piece of grey sponge underneath so it wouldn't be resting directly on the battery. So far so good. I know I voided my warranty but it's worth the sacrifice to have more storage.

    I did it the easiest way. I strapped on a Samsung T7 2.TB SSD onto the kickstand and it's stuck when kickstand is in or out. It isn't in the way for anything due to the size of Go. As for speed test, the original internal SSD is a 5500.MB/s like the one in PS5. I benchmarked it.

SSD is the size slightly bigger than a quarter and pendrive thin in girth. I don't understand why people go this extent to do something that can be easily achieved with no tinkering. @@TechGuyBeau No one is worried about the SSD in this situation. The SSD can take the heat. It's the battery that's the worry. Best case scenario is that it reduces the life of the battery due to excessive heating. Worst case is a catastrophic battery failure due to the heat. There's a reason they put the SSD off to the side in the original design. Good luck.

      Interestingly the ssd, since as I say isn’t touching the battery in the video, runs cooler than a stock 2242 SSDs. Been chatting with dozens of owners on the discord and they seem to be corroborating my results.

      It wouldn’t, as long as your battery does not reach 0% you should be fine which is also something you should watch even in stock unit cause that’s just how battery works. If anything, putting NVME in small devices like PC handheld cause them to operate above 60 which can reduce NVME lifetime at faster rate (at above 70 will cause permanent damages).

If you need more space just use external ssd and install games on that, might be a hassle for it to dongle around but et least you don't risk bricking your console.The thermals are gonna get horrible over time and not the mention the danger of lithium battery caching the fire.

    Sorry man, I know you were trying to save some money. But honestly it would have been worth just getting the right size m.2 NVME drive. Now that drive is going to get hot and so close to the battery is not a good idea. Anyone thinking about doing this I would think Twice, because already the chipset gets really hot, and the battery gets hot when charging, now you have a bigger drive on top of the battery. 😬 Yes it works but at what cost

    Извини что не на английском. Это кошмар! Надо было додуматься такой горячий элемент прикреплять к батарее... они сами горят часто, а тут с ssd у которого температура будет 60-70 градусов да ещё и прижимать батарею что вообще не предусмотрено конструкционно для батареи... Надеюсь она не возгориться у тебя на спине в портфеле или дома ночью.... лучше уж было в внешний блок засунуть ssd и проделать отверстие для провода к pci чем рисковать так...

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  9 месяцев назад

      I am seeing absolute max temperatures on the ssd of about 50 degrees during heavy writes. The ssd is actually getting airflow in this location, and there is no physical contact between the batter and SSD (there is an air gap between the two). So surprisingly temperatures actually appear lower
      Also the model of ssd I used is cool running
      I did some extensive gaming tests, as well as long transfers to be sure that SSD temperature did not become excessive 💪

Желаю тебе отсутствия проблем с этой модификацией и долгой жизни аппарата . если заметишь мерцания экрана, глюки и частые вылеты или стартеры которых раньше не было лучше убери этот мод.
