Come and see what it’s like flying Emirates during this holiday season. I’ve seen quite a lot of new things so I thought it would be fun to film and show it to you all.
I’m bringing my 1.5 year old son Eric along, so be understanding with the quality differences vs other reports, thanks! 😁

The log book is a treasure. I was bored during the lockdown and made it, took me long but worth it.
On hist first flight, a KLM B787-10 from Dubai to Amsterdam, the crew made a nice drawing and comment, and since then everyone else has been copying it.
Hello I have worked in the Emirates first class lounge in Australia and I have been fortunate to travel with the airline business class to Europe and Dubai. Emirates is by far the BEST airline in the world. My family and I truly love flying with them. We feel safe,secure and overall we are always made to feel very special. God bless Emirates xxx
Virginia, in some way I agree with you! Even for myself Emirates kind of has it all.. While some there are some development areas, the good things and the attention to detail are just far too good to even focus on the things that can be improved.
And it’s specially great for kids.

@@TheLayoverAviation yes you are probably correct, however for working class people like myself, experiencing all they have to offer especially their business class lounges in other countries was like a dream come true, my husband and I felt very blessed!!

I CAN’T wait to fly Singapore Airlines, but Singapore has some tight entry restrictions at the moment, and can’t really connect anywhere there from Dubai. Maybe I can fly to New York from Frankfurt, will see.

If this is what You get in economy imagine in business class ! Emirates never disappoints you simply the best !
They were eager to show but I didn’t have enough time! But there was a lot, and even more in First Class. Hope someone managed to film it. Their hot chocolate comes with a gingerbread house, strawberries and all kinds of stuff from what I was told.

I know, right? And over the past 10 years that I’m flying Emirates regularly it has just been improving each year.

The book I designed and made myself. It has many more interesting pages besides the ones for the crew to fill out, such as ticking boxes of all aircraft flown, etc.
I was planning to print more log books to eventually sell them as I’ve received quite a few requests.

Hey Robin, it was 87ABC, at the very back of the plane. This was to disturb as little people as possible should my son behave naughty.
I highly recommend something more in front for better views, let’s say row 81, 82..

Consider an airline like Gulf Air or Etihad, they have air nannies who will get you a couple of minutes to rest😅.

Being on "Uniform Mike" to AMS is not a coincidence as this bird is assign AMS since reinstated in to service. Occasionally we get other regs. G9 is dedicated 380/EK gate. Very rarely we get them on 1 of the other 2 dedicated 380 gates.

I realised EUM keeps flying to Amsterdam as I flew it 2 times, my brother and mother once each so I checked flightradar and saw it! I wonder how come..
G9 has been indeed the standard gate for EK and the 380, very predictable. Used it 99% of the time. Was once parked at G6 (B777) and once at G8. So rare that I even remember the gate!

I live in Dubai so I never transit here, but what I know is that the rules of your final destination count, so if I’m going to Amsterdam only Dutch rules apply. I only had to show my vaccination booklet.
But when I returned to Dubai I needed a PCR.
The rules keep changing so keep yourself updated online.
All the Middle East 3 are great in their own way, which one to choose depends on what you look for. If its a refined and professional experience, go for Qatar. But if you want to have a good time, lots of choice, great IFE and interactive crew, go for Emirates.

Hey Nieasha, frankly I just git it assigned, I just requested at check in if they had anything away from other people as I don’t want my son to disturb anyone (he’s very playful).
But if there are spare seats in the aircraft I trust that crew are more then happy to offer extra seats to parents travelling with kids.

Im flying a a380 emirates soon its me my mom and dad so we want to get the window seats and they are getting brought out kind of quick I want like a front engine or just back engine view if you know what seat numbers do you recommend?
Behind the wing! My opinion at least. The front has some curvature and it’s really hard to turn your head all the time.
Anything behind row 74 is great!

When do pilots set the BTV?
Hey Harish. I check all the destinations on the Flightradar24 app.
BTV is set at cruise altitude when preparing for the descend and conducting the arrival briefing.
The procedure might vary by airline..

17:52 The polderbaan was built as consequence of the El Al 1862 crash killing 43 people on the ground. The polderbaan gives the possibility to perform an emergency landing without overflying an highly populated area.

Yes, it now avoids populated areas but not in order to avoid crashes on populated areas, I’m afraid. It’s mostly noise while leaving space for a future terminal, if required.

Sometimes I pre-book, sometimes at check in, sometimes I ask the crew if they have something quieter for me to film at.
This time I just asked at the check in if they had any window seat at the very back so I don’t disturb anyone

Typical Emirates Crew. Always friendly with positive vibes. Top food for eco. The children are entertained. Best airline. Except that beer. They better change it for Warsteiner or another German brand. Seriously.

Beer wise, yeah a nice German one would be nice! I really can’t be demanding, as they are one of the very few to offer 4 beers in economy (Stella, Heineken, Tiger & Asahi to Japan), with the addition to Leffe in premium cabins. Wouldn’t mind a Leffe in economy!

I'm on vacation.
My eldest son was Eric’s age the last time I flew Emirates. That was an A345 (SYD-AKL-SYD) and he’s now 18yo! (With 4 Emirate sectors on his own). He’s grown out of avgeekery, but his 14yo brother is a flight simmer and wants to be a pilot. Loving the variety and detail of your TRs- the 14yo and I sometimes watch together)

Wow, I remember how the Emirates A345 was their flagship, with the (by then) new First Class Suites and revolutionary Business and Economy Class.
Flew this plane around 6 years ago and can’t believe how outdated it felt compared to the B777 and A380!
Time flies by, literally.. Glad you still have a son that is interested into aviation. I used to flight sim since I was a kid, think I got my first sim in 1995, still on floppy disks. Have the whole set up at home but have not touched it since my son’s birth.. Can’t wait to find the time again!
What sim does your son use and planes does your son like? I’ll try to fly his favorite (existing) plane.

@@TheLayoverAviation Indeed Beijing in winter times is not a pleasant place to be in. When the sky is clear, there is extreme wind, when there is no wind, the air quality is very poor.
