Thank you for making this video. I wear black jewelry only, went out of my way to buy titanium piercings as I tend to react to other metals.
They sell black titanium jewelry at a higher price while clearly not being transparant about what they actually use.
I have been wearing it for a few years now and despite cleaning thoroughly I can feel my piercing sites being irritated, especially in the last few months.
I thought it was due some other factors but I think this video has convinced me to go back to silver jewelry.
If I really wanna get conspiratorial I think this may be the reason why my one and only lip piercing regressed after healing.

Glad to fill you in. High polish Titanium will likely be the best option. It does surprise me that there isn't more information out there and piercer aren't being more diligent about making sure the jewelry they stock is biocompatible.
You know what else goes with everything neutrals, grey/silver is a neutral color.

Oh, but I am desperate to put something black in these year-old nipple piecing (when they FINALLY permanently calm tf down). But I’m not going to be a total moron and stick something stupid in there, especially when they seem so sensitive. Would you say I’m alright to go with niobium something, then? As you say, it’s more of a grainy charcoal look, but so long as it’s actually body safe! Will the physical texture be likely to irritate the piercings? The only other experience with black jewellery I have is with the megacheap Chinese stuff which I just wear in my lobes for, like, six hours at a time sometimes (and they still come out smelling of ‘no thank you’ 😭)
If the piercings are full healed niobium should be fine. Just verify that it is solid niobium and implant grade. The roughness is a factor only during healing.
I literally stretched my lobes to 8g so I can use obsdian plugs because it's safer...
Yes a much better of an option.
