There will be a 2nd video released tonight in 1 hour to accompany this one, the 2nd video will be a gear rundown video.
Today is my birthday, I've edited all day, and need to spend time with the family. I tried to edit the full video, but could only get so far. That is why this video is only part 1, part 2 will be long as well.
Thanks, and I hope you enjoy, and watch both videos posted tonight.
I'm 33 :)
Joe Robinet happy birthday man!!
Go enjoy yourself and your family!!! Happy Birthday man!!!
Joe Robinet I love watching your videos they helps me camp with my friends and I can show them the stuff you taught me
Happy birthday Joe. Thank you for good content and the inspiration to seek the outdoors more!
Joe Robinet happy birthday Joe thank you so much for the effort and for all the inspiring content you put on you channel!
I think I'm speaking for all of your viewers here. I don't mind at all in fact I'd encourage that you throw some sponsors in your videos. I'd really like to see you get some extra money for your fantastic videos. You deserve it.
Tommy Craig also if they are camping /survival companies it would be good to know what joe thinks of them because there are so many "knock off " tools that could put you on potential danger
Same
SourZUPB !! I agree so much say u buy a knife from a “ good company “ then the lock breaks it could seriously cut u
Tommy certainly speaks for me, get those sponsorships, bud.
Can't count of the wild edibles....tell me about it. Another good video. Nice pace from the last one.
Happy birthday! The thing that I like most about your videos is that you just have fun. You enjoy what you do, and you've followed your dream. You've inspired me to post what I enjoy doing the most on my channel. Take care, and go spend some time with your family...
Happy Birthday! Thanks for taking the time to give us a video treat on your day. Enjoy your well-earned family time!
These are always my favorite type of videos. Where you go into detail about why you're doing certain things, or how you're setting up your equipment. More of an instructional, survival instructional type of vid. Thanks for the entertainment!
Man, I can tell you how awesome it is to come from a long week of work to a Friday Joe vid!!! Beer is ready, feet are up, let the weekend begin 😆🍻
the flower turns pinkish when its aging, its also one of the deer´s favorite snack :)

Out of all of your videos, this one had the best setting, hands down. You had all the great elements in one spot, I envy you. I absolutely love pine forests like that.
You've saved my life with these videos. HBD and I can't believe how great the quality of these videos are now!
I really need this in my life... some days without nothing electronic, just the sound of the nature
Happy Birthday Joe, glad your eye is looking better too. Have a good one man!

This is I think my 5th month of watching your vids and you've certainly improved man! if I had to pick someone to camp with. it'd be you.
joe robinet your youtube videos inspire me to do new things outdoors you changed my life thank you
One way I've caught crayfish or crawfish where I am is to tie multiple pieces of jerky onto some twine and throw it in the water. Every few minutes I'd pull the line out and throw the catch in my canteen cup. I was able to fill it to the brim in about fifteen minutes.
Ive been a big fan of your videos for a while now. I'm from Northern Ireland and it's really interesting watching the differences in landscape and methods to camping out. Keep doing what you do Joe. Loving every minute!
damn, beauty spot man. lookin forward to the video.
Scrambled O CHECKING IN!
I think the most enjoyable part of his videos is his enjoyment.
High af, watching this guy..... bliss. And I don't know why
Übermensch don't do that in TEXAS, you will go to prison for a minimum of 5 years....
Oh yeah its my own little personal rule i only watch this shit baked off my ass
Yesss hahah
David Reyes fuck yes
ayeayeaye !!
Slow paced, simplicity and peaceful! Happy Birthday Old Joe! Thanks again, my two nighter solo was delay due to dentistry work and just non stop high winds. I would have had to abandon primitive site...or simply hunker down....boo! Gear is still packed and awaiting recovery and weather. You gave me something to look forward too. Ha...part 2!
Joe, move on over here to the Kawarthas. I live in an old schoolhouse outside of Woodville. Housing is affordable, crown land is within reach and people don't hit you in the face with bats. I can get you some part-time work with my tree service company and help you get settled. You can be my tree ID guy. Hate to see a wild soul like you caught up in the burbs.
I think youtube could be his job, it seems like he would earn a sustainable amount with the amount of views he gets.
Isaac vR. It is actually his job. He spoke about it a year or 2 ago
Happy birthday! "Livin in a van down by the river!" Love the quote bud.
My guess was Joe scat
correct
Giving us this gift on your B-Day. Thanks Joe, your a good guy!
Happy birthday Joe been watching your videos now for a nfew months an enjoy everyone of them, from San Bernardino CA
jim ngueny Hi, I stay in San Bernardino too. Know of any good camping spots around here? Thanks
@@5150_MiniBikes I used yo live in Anaheim and when I was growing up and my brothers were in boy scouts my absolute favorite camping spot was calico ghost town. But go around or after Halloween.. Before its really hot. After Halloween it gets really cold. But there are massive caves and trails and mountains to climb from what I remember. I ALWAYS loved it. My favorite spot in so cal.
@@5150_MiniBikes its not very close but its amazing out there. At least it used to be.
Hope you have a great birthday!
A tip for lighting those paper matches - pick the match off the pack, then hold the match-head to the striker, put the paper cover down over top of that, then hold that firmly together as you pull the match out - lights every time.
Upload 40 sec ago whelp looks like I'm not doing anything for the next hour
Tayler I am hot and ready
Tayler not sure about you but I am laying in bed while being in nature 😊
same
Same here!
Tayler me too
Hey Joe! Welcome to 33! Just got my grill and this thing is exactly what I was hoping for. Small, compact, and STRONG! Keep the great videos coming. You've really inspired me and i'm sure many others to get out and enjoy being in the outdoors.

Happy belated birthday! Hope you enjoyed it as much as we all enjoy your vids! I'm so glad you take us all along on your adventures, be they small or large! Watching your vids on my big ole' screen makes it look like I'm right there, :) - very relaxing after a hard day or too much news! Cracking my favorite beer and tunin' in to good ole' Joe - great way to end the day :)
I was eating dinner with a mouth full when you started playing with the poo lol!
Hey Joe I have been watching your videos for awhile now and I finally convinced my parents to let me go on an overnight trip on my grandparents property and I had so much fun.
what pants are you wearing in the video?
I would like to know as well
Haurdead123 green pants
They are Fjallraven Vidda Pro's
The brand is Fjallraven, theres a few different models to choose from with some features.. I think he wears the vidda pro trousers
Jeggings.
Thanks for another great video Joe! My wife and I watch your videos just about every night and have really learned quite a bit. Keep them coming!
I wonder if people like Joe are waching citycraft videos with people drinking lattes in cafes when they are not in the forest?
Literally sitting by an open fire drinking a beer watching joe. Life is good
Happy b-day Joe!
I'm going through a bit of a rough time, I'm not going in details but these videos always seem to cheer me up a lot
I'm down for one of those tarps.
Something relaxing about a puffing a few cigars and taking a couple swigs of whiskey, while enjoying some Joe in the bush.
Hey Joe, just wondering what type of watch you carry with you on your trips. I am looking into getting something like it. Another great vid man!!!
I love when he points the camera on the fire and it auto adjust itself and it looks like its nightime
Oh man I'm so freaking jealous at you living in Canada :c (I'm from North Germany and I absolutely love Canada)
Love going back & watching the older vids
good videos man keep on the good work! you can doa 2/3 day winter bushcraft
Great video Joe! My earliest memory of a trillium is suddenly seeing my mom freeze / tell me I shouldn't have picked it. To this day I freeze whenever I see them and then smile after I remember it :)
44 minute video? *grabbing beer and snacks*
No need to watch Netflix, HuLu, or Tv....JOE ROBINET IS ON!
becoming a house hold name. happy camper, called you out. you are killing it joe! I can not wait for your next one.
Can u make another vid of making a wood shelter
I'm likin these new cinematic shots and close ups of you walking a few steps and gathering stuff. Like in the beginning of you stuffing that bark in your backpack
Joe! I had plans ;-;. Guess not
You can always expect a quality video from Joe.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE YOUR VIDS AND WHERES SCOUT?
Jacko Does stuff he just didn't bring him.
thanks for taking us along happy birthday beautiful place nice to see you out again always enjoy watching your vedoes wish you all the very best until next time my friend
Il definetly pick up that tarp, perfect for warm weather or wet camping 👌🏻
Mach1Alex I've got a $2 garage tarp that works just as well if you want it.
I don't like camping but when I watch this I just wanna walk off into the wilderness
Awesome video! Just a thought... shouldn't you carry a gun with you just in case you stumble upon a bear or a mountain lion?
He may not have a carry permit
happy birthday brother, I hope it's the best you've ever had
You should come and try camping in New Zealand! You'd love it here!
Hey Joe: Happy birthday! Your in very nice country. Lots of diversity in trees.Glad you bounced back from that previous trip so quickly; ah youth. Thanks Brian 76( soon 77)
I think that's coyote scat.
Although the match might not stay lit if there is wind, another way to light paper matches is to fold the flap with the fire strip on it all the way back around so the strip is touching the match box. Then put a match in between the strip and the back of the match box and light it from there. Just a little tip in case you didn't know.
What pants are those joe? And how are they In durability and comfort?
Fjallraven Vidda pros.
Can't beat a good pair of Levis for durability and comfort, I don't get guys wearing these special pants... I always bushcraft/camp in my Levi jeans or chinos. If it's winter just throw some long johns underneath.
Doug Johnson Cotton gets wet and its harder to dry out than a synthetic polymer such as polyester. Staying dry is vital to staying safe, and where I’m from it is considered a little lazy and irresponsible to wear cotton clothing of any kind on campouts, especially winter campouts. Just stay safe and be prepared man.
Fred P. I'm certainly not worried about wetness around here. Maybe they are useful in certain areas because of wetness but it's not an issue here so there wiuks be no need, the temperatures are always warm even the middle of the night and if I happen to get wet I'll dry out by the fire. I actually have a spray you spray on clothes to make them temporarily waterproof as well but I never need to use it
Fred P. Just depends on the environment
thats why I like winter and autumen the most for survival
Joe check it, if you still read comments of older videos here goes. I don't really see a voted comment about the flowers that is correct. In biology coloration of a species comes from its phenotype (color). The phenotype is the physical manifestation of an organism's allelic combination (genotype). The plant has dominant and recessive genes from it's parent plants, so there is a ratio of which phenotype of the next generation of plant. It is also possible, but to not try and get too much into detail, to have a 1:1 ratio or two different alleles of a gene i.e. white parent + red parent = pink offspring (heterozygous). However for Trillium, as the flower ages it turns purple and varies by species and by location. So yeah technically you're right.
Fantastic vid! I like contemplating earth, discover and calm down...
How come you never take scout anymore
Joey Gonzales he is to much to handle
Joey Gonzales
He's an old pup, too much to handle, etc etc
scout doesn't go on campingtrips that require lots of walking and take several days anymore since he is an old dog with bad hips
Joey Gonzales I miss that beautiful, crazy dog
Joey Gonzales a moment of silence for scout
Glad to see you're not camping out in the snow again
What do you use for tick prevention?
Renee Kowalski he is wearing long pants and a sweater..... i dont think the ticks will get to his skin....and Scout probably has a colar with tick repellant smell on it or his shampoo.
Great stuff, the little over-nighters are a perfect way to decompress and practice for the bigger trips B-)
is this in Ontario somewhere? if it is than I am convinced that Ontario is the best Canadian province
nova scotia number 1
Nova Scotia is #1
Haven't been to Nova Scotia but from my visits up north BC is way nicer than Ontario.
I've lived Alberta, Nova Scotia and Manitoba...... Nova Scotia hands down.
Quebec represent
I loved the "Van down by the River" reference!!
I may have missed the steak more than you.
Dave Perez I love watching him cook steak!
Please do
Thanks Joe, for showing me that knot!
Really good it's helps me a lot and really like how you show everything you do in the video and it's coyote 💩
Happy Birthday bro! I really enjoy your videos ! My daughter and I have been bonding a lot watching them! you have sorta of inspired her to get outdoors! Ohio strong
that's cat poop.....probably lynx or bobcat......
cool thats what i was thinking along a Cat line lol
Kenneth Donnelly I was thinking more coyote poop with how stringy it was
i went with cats, because of the hair.....but thinking about it now, cats don't like eating the fur on their kills so its probably Wolf or Fox.....maybe a Coyote but i don't know how far North they are in the US and Canada.
maybe fox
mink
that boteeeeer joke! that was super funny dude. Joe, you are the best bushcrafter in the world. keep doing this stuff
coyote scat
sychamp its feline
sycha
Edvard

It’s G.I joe
love the video man being a fisherman for all my life I think it's awesome your making the effort to give it a go it's such a great thing to do
You went camping without Scout? Bad Joe, bad human bad.
Happy Birthday Joe. Thanks for all the videos.
*Takes a snooze gets killed by a cougar, RIP
very different from the last hectic canoe video...I like how you keep things changing ...very enjoyable ...thank you ...will be nice to see the second part ...oh and happy birthday !
Great Part 1. These are the videos I love. Excellent spot, easy going pace, and some cooking. Here in the Minneapolis, MN area, what you call wild leeks, we call ramps. They go for $20+ in the coop markets. I'd rather spend an hour gathering a few pounds from some good forage spots. I made some ramp butter, which I will be brining on my next outing to the woods. Can't wait for Part 2.
Great camp Joe. Looking forward to part two. Thanks
Hey Joe, Bar Keepers Friend is a cleanser & polisher. It's in a can container like comet. If you want to remove more of the soot from your canteen cup, give it a shot. It works great. Take care
Hi joe, hope you’re family are all well, you’re awesome, love from england xx
