the movement of this orchestra is amazing, and it really helps them play. i play bass and i get so into the pieces, even with a 6 and a half inch instrument in my hands, im swayin, swingin, kinda makin an ass of myself, but i feel the music, which is what classical music needs to be outstanding
To all of you who think it's annoying that the winds are "rocking". First off, we cannot express our sound but through our mouths. I find that when I "rock", I am really, playing. I did not learn this. It was something that developed whilst practicing. It is how I express my sound through my body. Some conductors hate it. Most do not care. As long as my intonation and sound is fine, ROCK ON woodwinds!
@freekydeekydutchVI well said. I really wonder if that youth orchestra he is talking about really was able to play the music (probably only the notes at most)
I wish I could get a cd of this performance. Definitely on my favorites list
there's this undertone in their performance, like a constant buzzing.....that's what makes it extraordinary. i LOVE IT
I love it
This is so amazing
I totally agree with you
I love Sibelius Symphony No.2
It is like a masterpiece
replaying 6:00 over and over and over again. AMAZING!

Thanks for being awesome. Physical expression is part of our musicianship.
Whoa Woodwinds, settle down its not a dance competition, you are awesome, everyone notices you that's enough.
@SorgenkindDesLebens not some, most! this is an amazing performance!!!!!
Ugh.. I wish this was one video. I want it on my MP3 player so badly.

6:00 and on is the best part!
This piece is simply amazing... i got goosebumps at @5:12
Oh God, yes! I feel that this whole symphony exists for this and everything else is preparing us for it.
Does anybody know if the melody starting from 1:00 in this piece is a quote of anything. It sounds somehow familiar to me.
@Chessmapling that, and the 7 measures of build up before that :)
5:20
lol nice trumpet intro
פנטזיה מוזיקלית מופלאה
@kiwihead441 id say we did pretty good!
@emdb1981 Hah, it seems to be that one clarinet player who's the most carried away, complete with finger splays between fingered notes.
6:01
i agree haha. i would move when i'd play violin. even when i played this song but they look ridic
5:13 my favorite part
"basically for a youth orchestra"? Nonsense. This is a superb performance, even some professional orchestras would play that worse!
