      I'm hearing similar sentiments from many in our age group. This production really does stand on its merit, live or animated.
      Remember how star ships, phasers, transporters and the rest were real even though they weren't? I'm taking the same approach with animated characters. With some imagination and suspension of disbelief, they become real actors.
      Thank you for some fun and relaxation. Good job.

    For those who don't realise: This is a game, edited to show the narrative parts, with some visual and audio effects added. It is not a film, nor is it written by GAZArts.
    It takes the game and cuts out as many of the player combat and moving around parts as possible, as well as conversation choices that could be edited out without being obvious.

    @2:51 - This is my first time seeing this. As a former 3D programmer and animator I can't help but see the flaws in the animation. It is mainly the lighting. Of course, my main love is the original Star Trek series. Especially since I am old enough to have actually watched the original run. Heh.

      As someone who holds games like this to a high regard, this thing seems like it belongs on a PS3. Stiff and choppy animation, poor lighting, bad texture quality, bad dialogue (Jara ordering just "tea" from the replicator and it somehow knowing exactly what kind of tea she wanted), awkwardness between characters, bad sound design (music being absurdly loud and dialogue sounding like it was badly edited), reuse of stock Star Trek sounds at the wrong times (the replicator sounding like a transporter), etc. Story wise it's also very arbitrarily dramatic where solutions to problems they encounter end up being way more harder than they need to be. As a $40 game, it needs to be better quality.

    • @markmanning8832
      @markmanning8832 Год назад +1

      @@XLentGamingNetwork My only response is that Jara ordering tea is like having RUclips pick videos for you to see. A computer can keep that information and it will give you the same kind of tea you may have ordered before - like ten years ago. :-) Computers, unlike people, never forget. As for all of the flaws - I just ignored them because this was a video with a story and that was what I followed. Yes, lighting, sound, and more were out of whack - but who cares? It still conveyed a story which was good. I am sure there are millions of people out there who probably went "I wouldn't do that!" in their heads (or out loud) but the decisions are those that the people who made the film decided on. If you do not like it - make your own film. Our team at NASA took eight people weeks to make a single film. Now, to be fair, this was way back in the 1990s and early 2000s. Only after 2000 did NASA finally get us PCs, set them up, and get us fairly good graphic cards. The rest of the time we used SGI's version of X Windows. No GTK or any other windows software. Just X Windows. So a week was not a long time for us to make a video. Also remember - our videos were 99% for Congress and only 1% for someone else. Then think about this - we had to redo one video sixteen times because every time we finished the video another Congressman would watch it and then say "You aren't showing my XYZ in the film. Can you put it in?" Which meant - we had to do it again. So this is a great film for me and if you don't try to pick it apart - it could be a great film for you too. :-)

    • @XLentGamingNetwork
      @XLentGamingNetwork Год назад +2

      @@markmanning8832 Yes because the replicator having voice identifications and pattern algorithms is totally something reasonable it should need/can do and something we've totally seen it do in Star Trek before. The point of a replicator is to ASK for an order, it's not supposed to just automatically know what the person wants. The story is okay but it was painful to watch with all the other glaring issues. I'm allowed to dislike something without needing to make something else in order to validate that distaste. As for the NASA comparison...okay, I guess? Good for you? Comparing 90's-2000's video and animation design to something most people could do on their own at home isn't really a good comparison. If you like just gobbling things up without any taste for quality, by all means go for it.

    • @markmanning8832
      @markmanning8832 Год назад

      @@XLentGamingNetwork I disagree. The point of a replicator is just to replicate. She used Tik-Tok to set her preferences. Heh. :-) NASA was fantastic! Where else can you explore the universe from your comfy chair? I mentioned NASA just to say I had to contend with the same problems and yes, graphics back then are so sucky by today's standards but at the time we were the cuttig edge. Then we fell off of the truck and became the trailing edge. Finally, after years of telling them to dump our software and go with a different software - they decided to go with Blender. This made their videos look a heck of a lot better. As with everything though - everyone I ever worked with has left NASA. Whole new group there now. So yes - anyone can but most people don't. Gotta go - converting music right now.

    One problem that i hope Dramatic Labs will fix is the soundtrack, it is not intentionally put in place so the music even though start at the minute they started on, as soon as the scene end while the soundtrack is in the moment, it cuts off and change drastically. This is true because if you tab out of the game, the soundtrack will still be playing but the scene is paused.

    An excellent job of editing. You kept the movie flowing without using too much of the game itself. Editing out as much of the game as you can and still keep the flow of the movie going smoothly. Some people that do these type of game movies and add too much of the game itself and make it boring. Some are just trying to show off their skill in the game and others just don't know how to edit it out. This is an excellent job of editing making it an excellent movie. Only one part that could have been edited out was where the commander was running over to rock slabs to catch up with the guardian period that could have been edited out and just made it look like they beamed over together to each new spot. But that was just a minor thing and did not hinder the show at all. Excellent job keep up the good work

Yes, I know it's just a game, but Jara is just gorgeous and the voice actress sounds delightful. However, I miss women walking like women in games. The allure of the feminine gait is a beautiful thing to behold. Enchanting and graceful. I got past it, though, due to the immersive story and likeable characters..Lt Bedrosian aside. How she got through the academy with her lack of respect for the chain of command is a legacy of nu-Trek that I find annoying and out of place. But this game was enjoyable enough. I'm on my second playthrough as I write this. 8/10.

Just look at ALL the crap that has been released lately?? It's like going to a garage sale and finding a rare item and then finding out what a great find!!!!!
    I TRULY HOPE THERE'S MORE STORIES LIKE THIS ONE!!!!
    I'M VERY HAPPY I TOOK THE TIME TO WATCH THIS!!!!

    Overall, a great movie.
    I have seen some other animated shows on youtube that turned out to be combined scenes from video games that I quickly lost interest in when they jumped from scene to scene without much plot connection. But as some others have mentioned in the comments, the length made me curious. It turned out that the plot was excellent, in depth, and kept me immersed. It was so good that it didn't dawn on me it was from a video game until quite a ways into the show, when I kept seeing things pop up on the screen like it was offering some kind of selection to make a decision. In the tradition of Star Trek NG, it wasn't just battle, but included a lot of adventure, and the conflicts had complex depth behind them. They also did a great job in building the characters. I loved the way they re-introduced interaction with the Tkon. That was a great episode of Star Trek NG and an excellent premise for a new story. I watched it spread out over several days. The story definitely accommodated the length. I was very satisfied with the ending.
    Now, my only criticisms:
    Too much background music that is too loud:
    If it weren't for the closed captions, I would have missed a lot of key dialog because the music kept drowning it out. Sometimes it drowned it out so bad that the CC couldn't even translate it and I missed it all together. I don't understand why movie/video creators always feel compelled to drown out half the movie with music. People complain about it all the time in comments but the creators keep doing it. Any background music should be much lower volume than the speech and it's use should be kept minimal.
    Graphical flaws:
    It had some graphical flaws. Mostly where the characters kept looking like they had white foam in their mouths when talking. But as I became immersed in the story I quickly started overlooking it.

    was wondering about the Tkon , and about them for a very long time.
    in the tv serie(s) i have noticed certain areas that i felt as if the Tkon had something to do with it.
    their technology ( altho slightly unseen , but yet seen and handled ) did give some areas of discrepancies of whos technology it really was .
    after so many years of watching Star Trek from its original start, the walkthrough of the exhistance of the Tkon , and the zealousness ( of course without thought ) (( meaing as if they thought that ' only they ' to rule or ' be the only advanced race in the universe , as like being stingy ,greedy, corrupt for their own selves )) of a intelligent species from the other side of the eons of the universe .
    that is the best , well written, production i have seen in a while.
    and very awesome to have Johnathan Frakes in it as well.
    amazing !

    High drama, and totally unbelievable, who designs a ship that requires an EVA to throw bypass switches? Repair a jammed phaser turret or a coolant exchange sure, but alignments and bypass circuits would be inside the ship. Also why isn't the XO carrying the equivalent of an epipen?

    Love this….Awesome story and stays with the Star Trek genre, thank you , may you keep the legacy alive…wonderful work…finally something worthwhile watching instead of all the crazy stuff in the movies. The only problem I see with this is that the music sometimes overpowers the voices and it’s hard to listen to them.
    I love watching many Star Trek and fan based films, but this was a strong story and kept me glued and interested until the end…..BRAVO on written work well done…..oh and is this also a version of a game?……HIGH 5…👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️😮❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼
