Wow so, this was kicked off RUclips for a few years and then magically reappeared a few weeks ago. Thank you Disney? I'm so happy to see so many people enjoying it. When me and my good friend Paul Odgren made this together back in 2015, we thought it'd get like 514 views. It's been amazing to see the response over the years. Thank you all for watching. ❤

This is the best Unofficial Star Wars Release in the world. The truth is I saw this years ago and was finally able to like the prequels, so much so that here I am Jan 2024, and loving it!!!
😶🌫️I don't know there is another one that's is pretty cool too I like this one thought as well. The fal of the jedi one that was fan made was very well made
Maybe for anyone who has never seen Star Wars they might enjoy this. But since we already have the context of the original movies this fan edit seem like a really poor attempt at retelling the story. Lots of important scenes were cut. It seems as though the editor only picked the scenes they personaly liked and left out all the other vital parts.
Best on YT, just got done watching this. It really showcases all the good points, omits the fluff, gets rid of all the bad stuff, bye bye Jar Jar, this just makes this so kuch better. The Trilogy works as a single film here. The prequels are saved. This is what I would show others that never seen the movies.
I believe that advice came from Elmore Leonard. However, I find this movie dry, stilted and, yes, boring. I got as far as Anakin setting out to find his mother and gave up. This movie does not have the magic that made Star Wars so memorable. Even the sequels could not bring it back.
Positioning the Battle for Naboo as the inciting incident was a brilliant move; that's effectively what it is anyway, and it makes for a cool action setpiece to kickstart the story!
WOW. This edit should be the standard way to view the prequels. THANK YOU for this fan edit. Much appreciated! It really highlights the core of what makes the prequels great!
Really smooth and well done. I'd say this is the best fanedit I've seen. Really captures the Anakin story as needed and keeps the whole thing streamline. I appreciate the care you took in making the transitions seamless. Especially the audio. Thank you. I consider this a suitable replacement for the original prequel trilogy.
15:15 At first, I didn’t like the change to Maul’s ”death” but the lethal efficiency of it and how we would have reacted to seeing Mail in two pieces as he fell changed my mind. It was a more vicious death in this version. One slip in a lightsaber duel and you’re done. It showed the lethality of a lightsaber.
I agree. Having Obi hanging on with Maul just looking at him, only to flip over him and cut him in half while he just derpily takes it? Yeah.. this is much better. The acting and line readings are still pretty laughable, but hey, what are you gonna do?
@@ROOKTABULA Interesting you say that since it was The Clone Wars, a show supervised by George Lucas himself, that brought Maul back despite being literally cut in half with a lightsaber, but no, it's all thanks to Disney.
@@JaydenVarghesebecause Maul was brought back with taste. Plus it affected him. Made him go insane. Now in disney you can get stabbed and wake up the next morning like it was nothing

Without the dialogue between Padme and Anakin in the "romantic" scenes.......how is the audience supposed to know that Anakin hates sand??? And the reasons why he hates it.
Obviously the original dialogue in that scene sucked, but the problem with fan edits is that it was not possible to substitute good dialogue. As a result, the story line is just left even more underdeveloped than in the original. Similarly, the mute Jar Jar just seems like a recurring joke for the fans. He sucked as a character, but removing all his lines is almost as bad as his racist stereotype of a Jamiacan accent.
Yeah I actually came to a similar conclusion. I wanted a good edit of the prequels that would tell a more solid story. It seems it's not possible, they will forever be awful. They definitely make me appreciate the orig trig more though, so there's that.

I sort of wish a full length movie or 2 could be made where The First Jedi came about, how the lightsaber was adapted (almost exclusively), & how the Jedi Order was established!
Yeah, I've kinda pictured that movie in my head as well... My take would be to do a version of the classic Romulus & Remus myth about brotherly betrayal (or sisters, doesn't rlly matter) as an origin-story for the Jedi and the Sith. Set on some primitive backwater planet bereft of modern technology (to set up the swords & knights stuff for later) and then maybe introduce a hostile, more advanced alien species they have to go up against (before turning on each other), so that's how lightsabers enter into the story.
I just watched this beginning to end the other day. I will have to say an excellent edit job was done. Over six hours was masterfully condensed down to about 2 hours of the downfall of Anakin Skywalker. I would think George Lucas would be appreciative of this Fan Edit.

I believe James Earl Jones will go down as one of Hollywood's greatest actors. He was Darth Vader also he was Tulsa Doom. He had the deepest most bombastic voice in the business. Oh wasn't he Mufasa too the king of the lions?
Much appreciated to have witness a new breed of actors which bring life and soul admiration to this wonderful trilogy series, having once created a series of digital animation and superior visual effects which give balance and spiritual enlivenment to a host of ardent fans who admire the pleasures of being entertained by an original storyline having once conceived by leading applicants of the Cinematic world, while the artistic film of massive proportions continues to shine within the luminal art of digital perfection.
I just wanted to say what a great job you've done. It's absolutely excellent 👏 👌. I I never seen all the other movies I would of thought this was 1 movie... I believe you've captured all the most important parts and everything else. ✨️ I can't say anymore but it's just great you have a gift my friend cheers. I hope to see some more of your excellent work 👏 👍
I love the edit, but I would’ve kept in the scene where Palpatine manipulates Padme into holding a vote of confidence it’s by far the most important scene in that entire movie and I’d say of the best parts of it. not to mention is a natural Segway to them leaving for Naboo. As it happens in the edit, they just kind of leave after arriving.
This is easily the best 1 film version of the prequels I've seen (I've lost count of how many fanedits of the prequels I've watched!). For anyone that wants more (but can't stand the original cuts), I highly recommend the L8WRTR fanedits (especially Ep I and III)
This is beautiful the most unexpected part was the revenge of the sith opening segment and how clever the cuts in scenes and music were to shorten the film. Absolutely brilliant
The Disney Original Trilogy with more details on how Anakin met Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon was interesting and other cut-out scenes from the Trilogy as well, however, seeing a shortened version of all 3 episodes into one was impressive.
Honestly, I find the whole 'Young Anakin Skywalker' story contradicts what Lucas originally presented in the first trilogy and by what Obi-Wan Kenobi had told Luke regarding his father and how he knew him.
Ya, I feel like it could have done with slower pacing all the way through but then again your trying to cram 6 hours into under 3 so I get why it's fast.
I cried. Star Wars is and will be one of the best films of the great filmmaker George Lucas. Everything was different back then. My film forever. Billions of Grammys for this film.
For people who don't have 2 hours & don't mind me spoiling the changes (the editor released this to the public so...) Here are the major changes : " It starts with a short scene between Padmé and young Anakin, on their way to Coruscant after departing Tatooine. Everything before this from Ep1 has been cut and relegated to the opening crawl. No Naboo space fight or Gungan battle with the droids. Maul fight is cut down a bit. Gone is the Zam Wessel assassin plot. Gone is most of Kenobi’s story line from Ep2 (unfortunately). While he’s got some cool scenes, it just doesn’t add anything to the story I’m trying to tell, and would add way too much time to the film. Anakin & Padmé’s time on Naboo is heavily cut down. Gone is the plot of Anakin being a double agent (spying on Palpatine and the Jedi Council). Gone is the Sidious/Yoda lightsaber duel. Jar-Jar Binks’s role is greatly reduced. C-3PO & R2-D2’s roles are also greatly reduced. They are much more of a background presence. Gone are any mentions of midichlorians. I don’t mind midichlorians personally, but I know most fans hate it. There are a bunch more surprises, cutting out lines here or there, shortening scenes where I can. I tried to keep pacing and sound edits a priority. "
I always thought the slanting opening summary that goes into space is unique and a noveity but it was done in Sapphire and Steel , a British tv series of the 70s . Enjoyed this.
I remember watching this back years ago and thought it was great...and it still is, but I now see that some of the things from Episode I that should be re-edited into it like the pod race which is a great way to show Anakin's force abilities as well as some of the ground battle and the space battle on Naboo...not a lot but just a little for the context of the feud between the Trade Federation and the planet of Naboo. I still love the edit on the Kenobi and Maul part at the end. Kenobi was pissed and the edit shows it well. Well done by all involved over the years of this fan edit.
Uhhh, no. 🙄 🤦♂️ 😒 Not a single Star Wars movie outside of the original trilogy has entered the library of congress for historic preservation nor won any significant film award. Yes, the Star Wars nerds will “pass it on to their children’s children”, but the blemishes of all the bad prequels/sequels after the original trilogy will also “never die”.. lol 🤦♂️
Agreed. The brevity of it really gave the action that much more of an impact. Even opens up the quick victory up to the interpretation that Obi had to tap into a sliver of the dark side to get that rage-induced edge for the quick win. Of course, that's just me thinking too deeply into it. Buuut...even with that, that's essentially a apart of the point of these sort of things also!
This is amazing. I'm going to take my 83 year old mother, who took me to see the original at the drive-in in 1978, to see the new film. I don't want to explain everything. That way she can figure out what's going on. This very much helps by removing totally irrelevant content.

Never thought the prequels could become watchable. This edit changed that.
This reminds me of some writing advice I read years ago: Don’t write the boring parts.

STARTINGSOMESHIT haha! I was thinking the same thing!
where is it
Really like the way this was put together. Very enjoyable!
watched this many years ago it has returned again well done sir
Heartbreaking news - James Earl Jones has left us, at the age of 93.....
Да почива в мир ☮️😢
He left? Where was he and where did he go?
@sithlordmikeyp you know what they meant.
He hasn't left us. Just become one with the Force.
I believe James Earl Jones will go down as one of Hollywood's greatest actors. He was Darth Vader also he was Tulsa Doom. He had the deepest most bombastic voice in the business. Oh wasn't he Mufasa too the king of the lions?
This is great for those who have seen the movies. It cuts the crap and goes straight to the good stuff
Much tighter. Missing a few story beats, but worth the cuts. I missed Obi Wan saying "So uncivilized" after defeating Grevious, but I'll get over it.
Thank you for the refresher, very well put together it was, 1977 it was a long queue indeed outside the Odeon , it was worth the wait, indeed it was.
I hope to see some more of your excellent work 👏 👍
thank you :)
Oh My God this movie gives a kind of Virtual reality experience. So much ahead of its times!!
Excellent fanfilm ! Never lets up for a minute ! This is how a StarWars film can be made ! And hopefully, you're got more forthcoming soon 😀 👍 😊?
Did you happen to watch it with captions on?
Not quite as good as "bad lip reading"; but the mistakes were... most impressive.
✌🏽🤘🏼
very fast paced and much more enjoyable, well done
The Disney Original Trilogy with more details on how Anakin met Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon was interesting and other cut-out scenes from the Trilogy as well, however, seeing a shortened version of all 3 episodes into one was impressive.
What a great fan edit... thank you for this upload
😮 WOW im 49 been looking at this long time ago thank you My the frus be whet you 😅
Honestly, I find the whole 'Young Anakin Skywalker' story contradicts what Lucas originally presented in the first trilogy and by what Obi-Wan Kenobi had told Luke regarding his father and how he knew him.
nice attention to detail making obi wan's saber blue after he defeats Maul given your edit.
Ive not seen this till now. It was ok.
No commercials.
Thank you so much for putting this thing right.
Loved this film, may the force be with you all.
WOW! I can't believe how much was cut out of this movie.
This was quite good.. it breezed along, too. The quick cut ending to the Kenobi/Darth Maul fight in Episode I got a quick chuckle out of me 😊
Ya, I feel like it could have done with slower pacing all the way through but then again your trying to cram 6 hours into under 3 so I get why it's fast.
I cried. Star Wars is and will be one of the best films of the great filmmaker George Lucas. Everything was different back then. My film forever. Billions of Grammys for this film.
For people who don't have 2 hours & don't mind me spoiling the changes (the editor released this to the public so...) Here are the major changes :
" It starts with a short scene between Padmé and young Anakin, on their way to Coruscant after departing Tatooine.
Wow... Well Done...!!! Very good job at streamlining and completing the story... That is not easy to do, that's called talent... Thanks...
I always thought the slanting opening summary that goes into space is unique and a noveity but it was done in Sapphire and Steel , a British tv series of the 70s . Enjoyed this.
It was done in Flash Gordon before that.
The pod race was the worst part of episode 1.
Star Wars Legacy will Never Die our children children and then next 1000 year's will be amazed and intrigued for centuries to come
Uhhh, no. 🙄 🤦♂️ 😒 Not a single Star Wars movie outside of the original trilogy has entered the library of congress for historic preservation nor won any significant film award. Yes, the Star Wars nerds will “pass it on to their children’s children”, but the blemishes of all the bad prequels/sequels after the original trilogy will also “never die”.. lol 🤦♂️
MUCHAS GRACIAS POR COMPARTIRNOS ESTA GRAN PELICULA, SIN DUDA LA MEJOR DE LAS 6 PRIMERAS
😀
Best MI culo.
That was THE ONLY PART which i've never seen, but the most important one, one which make the sense for all further parts.
Perfect edit of Obi Wans deadly lightsaber strike to Maul. Much better without the "cliffhanger".
I agree with that, it was very close cut.
And he even remembered to change the green blade to blue
Meh, it highlights the "high ground, " situation in Ep 3 where obi wan strikes down anikan.
Man, you're as old as I am. I remember seeing this at a local theater with my mom for .99 cents PER person on Thursday nights in Lodi Ohio... man, what a memory
* THESE films made memories for us.
Unbeatable good film. This quality, we do not have anymore today

So this is how a new era of Star Wars began, with the birth of the twins. Thank you so much for posting. 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍
This was excellent! 👏🏼 really well done and fully enjoyable. Thank you!
Just to say ABig Thank You. Love it!
Star Wars , no one knew how far this would go. Most of us live on Terra , but to get away from this crazy planet for a short time watching is relaxing. Scottish guys in dresses are hilarious !. Many thanks guys. Dave😮😊
