    I like the color matched fender trim as it sets it apart from the standard Kona models. Nice, yet subtle changes to the interior and exterior. The 1.6T is a blast to drive, which is one reason it has dominated the lackluster performance of the CH-R and HRV. I'm sure the Kona will continue to be a top seller for Hyundai in this ever popular segment.

      I agree because HR-V is wonderful compact suv but it has 2 issues needs a turbo added and DCT trans instead of a CVT transmission. It's doesn't put the power to the ground. It's like wind up toy...😂 Honda really drop the ball with the CVT and has to stop investing in these junk transmissions. If they did they rule the market. I bought a Acura ILX with naturally aspirated 2.4 Vtech so I could get a sub compact Honda with a 8 speed DCT which was built in house and honestly it is the best DCT I have ever driven. I compared it to a 2020 Hyundai Elantra Sport 1.6 t with the 7 speed DCT and the ILX A Spec was just a better car in every way but if the ILX had the CVT it would have just like every other compacted Honda a disappoinment. It's should be atleast an option in some models of the Civic, HR-V and CR-V that alone would make them sell even better. This is definitely were hyundai is pulling ahead with there 7 speed DCT even though it's inferior. Who wants to drive a CVT transmission which even turbo engine can't fix?

    I reallyW like that - and the painted fender plastics. I can't believe how good that redesign looks with everything painted. I am a former Ford owner of 37 years and bought my first Hyundai last year (a used 2016 Hyundai Elantra) which I am liking more and more each day. I'm getting great gas mileage with my 6 speed manual - 44-45 mpgs per tank! I am torn. My next car will be an automatic (once my legs no longer can easily work clutch) - I either want a hybrid or something like the Kona N-Line. I am hoping the hybrid comes to US because it would buy one! It will be fun to see what is coming in the future - Hyundai is so hitting it on all cylinders - I love their new products!

    I currently have the Hyundai Kona 1.6T and while I love the new one it is very hard to trade in my current one... Just can't. I love it haha
    Very fun compact car.
    One of the only downsides? No back air vents. That's a real bummer.
    and no interior LED lights, some are still of the old type that heat, one of the Incandescent types... LED cost almost nothing. too bad Hyundai doesn't upgrade it.

    I’ve seen a lot of your SUV reviews and other than perhaps the GV80 I have never seen you this impressed with a new model Hyundai SUV. I know we are talking about 2 different caliber of vehicles, but how do you rank your 2021 SUVs on fun to drive between the Kia, Hyundai and Genesis models you’ve reviewed so far? Thank you reviewing this model. Owner of 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and 2017 Santa Fe XL Ultimate.

      Genesis GV80 is the top model for me with 3.5TT. It just handled it like a king with all the power, and the Kona N-line would be the next one, because it felt really engaging around corners and it feels quite peppy with 1.6T. Thank you Jeff.

      I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I went with the Tucson because I wanted AWD. It has been one of the biggest mistakes. The first was getting a Hyundai. They don’t care about their consumers. My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. I owe more than it’s worth because one thing they don’t tell you when you buy a Hyundai is they depreciate way faster than you can make payments to survive. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI.

    Honestly, over here in the States they need to just keep the Elantra GT N- Line or better yet - bring the full N over. People wanting a cheaper CUV aren't looking for a sporty model and people wanting a sporty hatch want a hot hatch, not a CUV.. I feel like they just made this so they can charge more than the Elantra GT after they axe it this year. I'm so sick of all the crossover's here.

      The 1.6T makes around 210 hp and 220 ft lbs in reality. A good tune with some bolt ons will net you 285 hp 340 ft lbs. Look at all the dynos. They make 180 whp plus. The N elantra will have the 2.0T revised to make 285 hp 287 ft lbs with overboost. I hope they start using hybrid powertrains like the 1.6T hybrid 230 hp. That would be huge for tuning potential.

  • @stephenbrown563
    @stephenbrown563 3 года назад

    Hmm was hoping it would make like 240HP like it's sister KIA Sportage... and yes I agree I don't like the colored fenders as much either. Also the emblem move with the 3 fake vents kinda ruined the nice front end look for me a bit... wish they wouldn't have messed around with that unless those vents were actually functional.

    Honestly I like the older Kona front end more. For this facelift, I prefer the regular Kona over the N-Line. The fake vents/mustache does not look very good. I also think the N-Line with body colored cladding looks super weird, should've kept it black. Hopefully the Kona N will look better than the N-Line. However, this blue is super nice, almost as nice as the N baby blue and its super cool that the N-line has AWD. Hopefully the Kona N will have AWD in addition to an LSD.
