- In this video, Jenny reviews the 2021 facelift Hyundai Kona in it’s sporty N-Line trim.
This latest Kona facelift includes subtle changes to design and functionality, a few new tech perks, and some engine upgrades. It’s basically keeping a model relevant without the development of a whole new car. In most cases, facelifts are a very good thing. They also iron out any issues that were spotted in the first few years of the public abuse of a model.
The facelifted Kona also has a pretty wide price bracket, ranging from under $27k to just over $42k. There are 6 trim levels, currently two engines, FWD or AWD, CVT or dual-clutch… You get it, there’s a lot to choose from.
The version in this video is the second-highest trim called N-Line, it’s just one step below the N-Line Premium and it packs the 1.6l turbo direct injection engine whose power is sent to all four wheels on demand.
The engine in our review Kona is a 1.6 with direct injection. The help of the turbo gives more torque, 265 Nm, provides it lower in the rev range, from 1600 to 4500, and delivers 146 kW of power. Moreover, this engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch. This turbo sips fuel at 6.7 l per 100km combined.
Hyundai’s latest Kona offers plenty of options to choose from and such a different driving feel, there is bound to be a Kona for anyone looking into buying such a car.
It’s just a matter of finding the perfect balance between the desires and cost and with so many options, that should not be a problem.

You girls are on fire, great reviews 👀
Thanks for giving that car a peppy engine, Hyundai. More torque is always appreciated.
Watching your reviews is such a refreshing experience. I love them, keep the great work up
Thank you for a good review on a Kona, Jenny!.
She is so Refreshing to look at 😻! O yes good review as always
I cannot wait for my 2023 kona n-line ultimate to come later this spring!
I might hold off buying until the Kona 'N' comes out toward the end of the year.
Jenny from the block! Nice review!
Great review Jenny 😉 this face lift looks like a real winner, irregardless of which powertrain you choose. Each has it's own merits 👍
Beautiful.... Jenny
...
Its a no brainer, Id go for the 1.6
Def the 1.6T engine choice
Very comprehensive review...
@ 3.19", a 1.6l turbo, wow so powerful and torquey till the bra strap drops... Nice one Jenny !!!
CVT no thanks robs it of performance should have stuck with the 6sp TC auto Hyundai i30 I had not long ago 2lt 120kw TC auto went like a rocket 0 100 8.5 sec . The wheels on the n line will be hard to clean too many nooks spokes
How does it behave in low speed stop/start traffic? It would be nice if this could be included in most or all reviews do to the fact that it impacts so many of us who get caught in peak hour traffic.
I've got the dual clutch 1.6t , its not bad in stop start but if i was commuting always in traffic i'd go with the cvt, there's no reason to get a 1.6 L if you're only crawling your way to and from work anyway.
Nice Kona facelift, but jenny more nice looking for herstyle....😍
The video is very good on the person who explains it
Really like this updated 2021 Hyundai Kona!...And btw Jenny Hyundai is pronounced HY-UN-DAI like SUNDAY! 😉...Front/Rear fascia's look much nicer than previous version. Still don't like where Hyundai puts the turn-signal indicaters down low on the rear bumper, where one would generally find reflectors, but oh well. Luv the side profile a lot very classy & sporty. Interior upgrades are also very nice with 10.25 infotainment screen and the typical Hyundai easy user interface, which they do better than almost everybody. I also really like the design of the instrument panel, very smart & intuitive. Again Hyundai does this better than other brands IMO! Seats look great in this N-line version, but I agree with you about not having rear HVAC vents in this high-spec trim. Should definitely have them, maybe Hyundai will add them down the road. As far as my choice of engine that would be the 1.6 Turbo GDI with 7-speed DCT. Clearly a better choice at least for me if I were in the market. Thanks for the nice review Jenny!
Amazing review jenny
Great color as well!
Not really my style but it is a Hyundai I'll take it any day
The 1.6 n line all the way
I'd go the 1.6t but the thing that bugs me is that (with my last car I chose the top tier level) with the N-Line Premium you only get a sunroof if you choose the black paint job. Black paint job, black interior here in Aus seems like a dumb choice. Back to blue red or black in colours (meh) and no lighter interior on the premium level (meh).. again, seems like a silly choice for those wanting the higher trim and features.
Ugh! I so agree with you, it's a real point of contention for me! How much hotter do dark paint and materials get?! it's proven to be about 6 degrees hotter in a dark car within an hour compared to a light one! That is a lot! So therefore, more fuel on AC etc... But also the aesthetic value! Lighter interiors have such a nice airy feel, especially for those in the rear seats and in my opinion, a more luxurious feel! We definitely need those light options over here and pronto, especially on the high trims!
Totall agree with you
My favourite part of these reviews is the way the camera pans over the host rather than the car. I’m here to watch her look cool and feel empowered. Oh wait…. The opposite of that. I’m here for the car review and care very little about the host feeling like a girl boss.
How tall are you Jenny? tq
it looks like a decent city daily driver... even in that shiny blue...
beautiful car but more beautiful is the hostess!
Chic. Both, car and host.
Oh how I wish round headlights would come back!🤖
😍
I love you mem
I want highlander with 1.6 dct , man why hyundai didn't give an option for this
lov u jni
Kona vs audi q2
No manual? I hate automatics!
Lanjut Hyundai Tucson 1.6 t...!!!
Hi cutie Jenny
Why does Australia get the MATCHING COLOR-CODED REAR-VIEW MIRRORS, on the N-Line, and in the U.S., we get that crappy looking Black COLOR REAR VIEW MIRROS? The black mirrors don't match well at all, and unless you buy a black Kona N Line, the car doesn't FLOW AS NICELY AS THE KONA ABOVE, with matching mirrors. I'm not interested in the Limited, which has the matching mirrors. What the hell is Hyundai thinking? Whomever idea this was he/she needs to be fired!!!!
A much better presenter than that supercar blondie. 10/10 wood screw.
Don’t compare to a highlander , different category
Mate, Highlander is a trim level for the Kona
i want it meow
Jenny, get back in the shorts like in the jimny clip
I'd swipe right on this host
Έμπαινα και δεν έβγαινα.
Love the review though don't like the car
Straight outta Queanbewrong.
Time to go electric.
