- Cold Start & pure exhaust SOUND footage of the new 2020 Porsche 992! Actually this car sounds very natural and good in real-life but the deep voice sometimes isn't transported well by iPhone speakers;) This particular car is a Carrera 2S Cabriolet which delivers acceleration figures almost on pair with a manual 991.2 GT3 we drove a few month ago. As you can see & hear, the car is very very performant, especially considering it "only" has 450hp, but it makes great use of every single one of them. For those who are "dissapointed" by the sound...
I mean.. Porsche tried to be in accordance with all the emission regulations. A biturbo engine thats redlines at 7500-7600rpm. The best compromise between a screaming engine (with the right exhaust setup) and performance. GREAT JOB PORSCHE!

@@izskos4021 i had the GT4 and the sound was incredible with NA engine. I was very impressed with the 992 Soundtrack against engine responsiveness when i test drove it. Everyday usability is important too whilst having a lot of fun. I think Porsche have managed an incredible balancing act with the 992 given the new EU regulations. Even with SE off sounds great.
I mean I totally get and support electric cars for normal transportation but come on world governments... how many 911's or any sport cars are being made and driven every day? I would argue the total amount* of CO2 emitted by any sport car a year is only a fraction of the total CO2 emissions world wide. Just leave sport cars alone and naturally aspirated, it is our right to enjoy cars!

I much prefer my naturally aspirated cars, but there should be no exceptions with new cars. My only gripe would be if they started banning older ones.
I personally think it sounds amazing. It's just not LOUD, doesn't mean it sounds bad. Nothing can compete with the flat six engine note!

911 fans the flat six grumble and howl is still there. You have to hear it in person, it's great. I just did in NZ.
just like 488 GTB, on videos i though it sounded muffled but once i had a ride in one WOW in person it sounds so good with the V8 just behind ears

Er kommt zwar nicht an den frei atmenden 3,8 Liter-Boxer ran, aber dieses Kreischende ist in den höheren Drehzahlen noch immer vorhanden und klangtechnisch auch recht alltagstauglich und sozialverträglich. Über die Schnelligkeit dieses Autos, das auch den einen oder anderen 500 PS-Kandidaten versägt, brauchen wir gar nicht zu diskutieren.
Like many others I ordered the Porsche Sport Exhaust on my 2021 Carrera S.with Sport Chrono Package. I lived with it for break in period , then tried the Soul Sport Cats, keeping the PSE. Cats remained on for six months but couldn't keep from throwing check engine light. Spacers didn't help either. John at Soul is really the best and ended up returning the cats. Presently running the Akrapovic slip on with stock oem cats, and totally happy with it. The sound is deeper and a little louder, but a big improvement over PSE. While pretty pricey, you won't find a better quality exhaust. Lets face it, your car deserves it.
I have been going back and forth between Soul cats and Akrapovic slip on. SERIOUSLY thinking about M-Engineering to take care of the CELs if I go that route and they should appear.
@@Pboy7272 Soul is an awesome company, and if you have questions or concerns, they will immediately be at your disposal. They 100% back what they manufacture, which are top notch products. Only reason I didn't go with their slip on is it was still in development at the time of all this.

Klingt besser als ich (aufgrund bisheriger Hörproben in der Natur mit diversen 911-er Modellen) erwartet habe. Der Boxer mit seinen 6 Zylindern hat halt seinen eigenen Sound. Und ganz klar: Dieser ist anders als der Klang von 8, 10 oder 12-Zylinder Motoren. Doch wer Porsche mag... für den sind es himmlische Geräusche!

I think you need to hear it in the real world. You tube and a load speaker dont give it justice. I just drove a 2021 carrera with sport exhaust for a whole day and it sounded great. If loader it will be tiring in the long run.

I have a 2023 Carrera with Sport exhaust so I know the guy is being very conservative with the RPM. It's VERY LOAD when you get it up to 5-7k . I shift mine on the first pop of the rev-limiter and it sounds BAD A$$!!!

There is a button to change the exaust sound like in the Cayman gts? Or just when you put it in sport mode?
If you get the sports exhaust option then there is a switch to change the sound - or change to SPORT and it's default.
Two years ago people complained about 718's flat four...what about now? I don't think this is articulating at all if you weren't told they are flat six. Do blind tests! Even with those aftermarket exhaust pipes you may find on other videos they sound the same. It is the turbo issue. And Porsche is not devoting to exhaust sounds after regulation changes.

Sounds actually pretty good, Porsche car's are not crazy over killed vehicles.. it is about practicality, every day usability and performance, yes you can get some "tuning" done but having it extra loud is not the mentality and DNA of Porsche. Blame EU regulations.. once you will live in some city centre and some idiots will revv their engine to 6-7 k and wake you up, then you'll be happy for that.. Of course I like loud cars but Porsche IS NOT A SUPER/HYPER car .. so, yea ideally some aftermarket tuning of valve / exhaust system to have it a bit wilder outside the city and happy days.. I am pissing myself by laugh when I see some ricer with Golf R32 REVVING to the limit in city and doing crackles and bangs for .. no reason really..

Weak..... wanted to order a new '21 C4S w/ the Aerokit and 7spd but I seriously think im gonna hold on to my '14 C4S 3.8L NA w/ the Aerokit and Sport exhaust, it sounds 10000x better than this and revs way higher.
