Hi there! You might still be seeking an answer. AWD is when all 4 wheels are receiving power at all times (nothing fancy). Whereas, 4WD is when all 4 wheels can be powered. AWD variants of Porsche 911 still have the rear wheels receiving most of the power, though power is distributed to the front wheels variably when a computer in the car incrementally senses traction is needed. Porsche 4WD systems help the car recover from excessive oversteer. The opposite happens in a 4WD SUV: the front wheels are always running, and the rear wheels come on when needed: helping recover from excessive understeer.
Every person with the slightest interest in cars knows FWD is front wheel drive. There's no debate.
A petrol car that accelerates to 0-100kmph in 3 seconds flat and gets 24.8 mpg: technology these days.
Well, more than 89/100 for a 6cyl of 3.0l on the standard homologation cycle, that's nothing to exceptional either.

@16:50 .. not true, they don't pipe sounds thru speakers, that' a BMW thing... they allow the sound to naturally work into the cabin by a opening in the back of the car cabin though.

People always say the navigation systems in many vehicles are always hard to use while driving. Personally, I use the navigation system before I start driving so I know where to go from where I am parked 😂😂

@Charlie Vetsworth Who said anything about memorizing? Enter the address before you initiate your trip and the Nav shows your route as you drive? Was pretty simple to understand.

Almost 25 mpg from a car that can go 0-60 mph in 3 seconds? I think it is incredible. Also that acceleration time from 450 horsepower car? This car is just unbelievable engineer achievement. Think what GT2RS would be!
Welp i do agree but the 3 second 0 to 60mph is not that special i just found out, nissan gtr can do the same. It does 0 to 100 kmph in 2,9 seconds with 480 hp.
hoen2009 a Nissan gtr was designed for straight line performance and its awd whereas this Porsche can do it all as a rwd car which makes it much more impressive

A model 3 performance is cheaper and quicker. Equivalent to 136mpg. I'm thinking about trading my 2015 911 for a Tesla. Plus it can fit 5 people hmmmm

Little Light 4WD means you can change it, AWD means you cannot so 4 wheels are constantly driving at all times
@@CoupeDominic They mean the license plate says "A911 FWD" - FWD meaning Four Wheel Drive which it doesn't, rather it means Front Wheel Drive.

It's so precise, accurate, and reliable, you know what you're expecting.
When Mat hit the throttle and made it to 60 MPH in 3 sec dead, and then repeated the same operation once again to get the exact same reading, I felt he's operating a computer and not accelerating a car.

Porsche does not feed their sound to the speakers. They do pipe some behind the rear seats however which is where the engine lies regardless. Its the same as Ferrari's and lamborghinis. Also, the muted sound is mainly caused by the particulate filter. The 991.2 C2S sounded just as loud as is N/A on revs.
Old 911 has custom exhaust do its not fair to compare.
Matt said that it comes from the speakers though which means its digital not piped

When I see a carwow review on it: "ohhhhhh wow"
The 991 uses a "sound tube" to pipe intake noise into the cabin. When the sport button is pressed, a valve is opened to permit more noise to come into the cabin. I strongly suspect the same system is present on the 992....and, if so, "fake noise" is NOT piped in via the speakers.

If it were being piped in the same way as the 991, there would be some turbo noise which seems to be absent. So I suspect Mat is right in that it's being piped through the speakers. I always wondered why the 992 sounded so much better inside the cabin than the 991.2, now I know why.

I don't think so. Topgear presenters usually really understand the actual dynamics of cars which Matt either doesn't have, or carwow stop him from doing. Topgear is more than just drag racing cars and luggage space.
No chance. He spends every review talking about fucking cupholders and whether he can charge his beloved android phone, then about 15 seconds on how it actually drive; even stuff like 911’s

Great vid as usual Matt. Mega performance. What will the new GT cars be like !! Glad you mentioned the touch screen. It's not just Porsche. All touch screens in general are difficult (?dangerous) to use whilst driving. I avoid using the touch screen in my 991 !

Not quite, GT models are RWD only.. Turbo, Turbo S - more so, as they are AWD only..
0-60 times are about as irrelevant as they've ever been. Each gen 911 is less the driver's car than the one that preceded it, that's the only fact worth stating imo. Give me a 993 or 997.2 any day over this

I hope you enjoy it, it may be objectively superior in every aspect apart from being fun to drive. I like fun.
Speed yeah, but what does it matter on the road? Do you really care if a car is 2.8 seconds to 60 vs 3.2? 4 or 5 seconds is plenty.. plus you’ll have to do a launch mode and look like an idiot. It’s just marketing to make the next gen ‘better’ than the last- as I said, it’s faster but more boring, wider, heavier, expensive etc. What’s the point! Corners are fun, going fast from a traffic light isn’t.
I’ll join the future when we’re forced to drive electric cars, until then there’s plenty of good cars around from the 80s/90s/00s and a few from 10s but not many.
